Glad that King Federer is facing *some* questions about his potential conflicts of interests surrounding Tennis Australia head/Aussie Open director Craig Tiley and investments in Laver Cup, Julien Benneteau’s recent comments, and Caujolle’s revelations that he worked with Federer to change Paris’s surface to engineer a title there for him. The press and tennis establishment *never* hold his feet to the fire because of $$$$ and web clicks. Everyone has to genuflect and kiss his ass or pay a steep price. The cult of Federer, exemplified by David Foster Wallace’s hagiographic comments about him, has been sickening to watch. His flaws are always vehemently excused.

He’s clearly an all-time great and deserves *some* deference and preferential scheduling for his contributions to tennis and global fanbase  (it IS a business), but fairness and accountability need to be part of the equation. Tennis has to be bigger than any one man, and TPTB need to understand that if they are to survive once King Federer retires.

And I don't recall the Aussie Open courts being that fast. It's like they did it for Roger. Had not all the injures occurred with the other players .....Federer would still be stuck with 17 majors. I mean when you have Tennis Channel admit that Roger is who they want to feature and in certain time and court will no wonder tennis hasn't grown.

And TC just announced the ATP Cup coming in 2020....will be a Laver/Davis Cup type tourney with 3 cities in Australia used and would occur right before the Aussie Open.....10 day tournament with 750 points available......Are they kidding me? TC said this tourney already existed but is being brought back.....but to have such a major tourney before the Aussie Open is ridiculous. They will shelf the warm up tournaments that have I believe a 250 point value for it.

Well at least Isner made some money for showing up....so he shouldn't feel like [!@#$%^&*]...LOL...even though he gained no ranking points.....LOL. Borna also got a appearance fee although he never had to play.....I guess Karen wanted to enjoy his win and decided to pass as an alternate.

Roger had been playing crappy all week no matter what the tennis media was saying. Not surprised Sacha beat him. I saw bits and pieces of it but didn't see the controversy. I'll have to rewatch the match later.

Roger fans booing.....nah......reminds me of how bad his fans behaved at Indian Wells this year.

This loss means Roger might have to beat both Rafa and Novak at the Aussie Open to win it all.

British journalists love to brag about how knowledgeable British fans are about tennis, while denigrating other countries (e.g. China) about how ill-informed their tennis fans are but only ignorance can truly explain why people would boo and continue to boo because of a mistake that a ballboy, a volunteer and a kid, made by accident.

Maybe the Brit tennis fans are not all they've been lauded to be.

    • yes. today Monday's episode started with words displayed "part 1" and ended with "to be continued"
    • I find Missy Reeve's views offensive and I don't want to defend her, but I don't think she ever said anything publicly about Days "gay content".   In fact, I don't think she's ever said anything negative about Days at all.  There's no indication Missy is difficult or unprofessional on set-except for the whole affair thing years ago lol-but that's a whole different topic. I can dislike Missy as a person and still think she's the perfect fit for Jen.  Cady tried and it didn't work for me.  Whenever Missy steps into the role it works.  It's a two things can be true situation.  Missy has some bad opinions, but she's great at playing Jennifer.
    • Doesn't the funeral go into Tuesday
    • Christian Streaty wrote her second freelance script today on Days. Surprised they gave the first funeral episode to a newbie.
    • And the third thing, which I have no cite for, and I may look to see if one is findable, but supposedly she said that the show had too much gay content in it. And, to be fair, that could be someone making a criticism about balance & not be bigotry but when it's added to the other, that's why it bugs people.

The greatest tv series season finale in history.
    • Mick Savage was sooo unbearable. And more unbearable was the reaction from the female characters to him - they were acting like he is God's gift to women and sooo irresistible. To a point of unbelievable cringe.
    • Today was a short one. Only 33 minutes.  The ‘Part One’ graphic at the beginning was pretty interesting though. I didn’t expect them to do something like that.  I like how everything was focused around John and his family and friends. Again, the acting and the dialogue was very well done and well written. And I love that they were able to incorporate Drake’s, “swing for the fences” phrase into the script. It was nice seeing everyone interact with each other, especially characters who don’t often share scenes together. It felt like every character was part of a big family or community. Plus, an outdoor funeral in June makes a lot more sense than an outdoor funeral in December.  But yeah, it’s very, very strange that Will isn’t at the funeral, especially since we know that

I would much rather he had been there today. And, where’s Anna too? And Jack and Jennifer? What was the point of bringing them all back if they weren’t going to attend the funeral? I expected Steve to want to close down BlackPatch, though I’d rather he just retire and let Paul take it over. But I like that Kayla was there to comfort him. I wonder if he’s going to change his mind at some point.  It was nice seeing Shane again too. Now, he just needs to have more scenes with his son lol but I enjoyed seeing him comfort Marlena. I’m not really sure about his interaction with Cat though? Was it really necessary for this to happen now, at John’s funeral? They could’ve waited a little longer to introduce this story arc.  Btw, was Tate bleeding from his head in his first scene with Arianna?
    • This is the coldest early June in my life. It's like it's January.
