If this wasn't being livestreamed (I work on my laptop), I wouldn't even bother.  I admit to still being somewhat curious but I've avoid Social media for most of the day because there is too much speculation and I'm becoming annoyed.

The Countdown Clock has me  though.

It's not that big of an issue. She's been taking the substance since 2006, and it was only put on the banned substance list on January 1, 2016.  She made the mistake of not checking her email that provided the new banned list.  This might hurt her a tiny bit but enough to lose her endorsements, or her championships coming into question.

The ban was announced in September 2015, Sharapova said she didn't read the letter.  And three other Russian athletes have also been banned for using the same Meldonium (one just announced earlier today before Maria).  Some people within the tennis world are saying they expect a 3-6 month ban, at the least.

Just read that Sharapova's lawyer announced that she has been provisionally suspended and she will not be asked for her B sample to be tested.

She should have checked but I am not sure if the drug she was taking had a generic name to it. Would she have known it was the drug she was taking?

See thats why you should always read your mail.:P:lol:

2 year suspension to 4 year suspension….

Marin Cilic received 7 months I believe…after it being reduced. I find it odd that Cilic hasn't done squat after his US Open win.

If you're an athlete in the age of WADA, it's your health/life, your name and your career on the line, so you need to make sure that you keep abreast of what's going on, especially if you are on medication.  I'm not fully clear on whether this was fully FDA approved either.  If the letter was sent out in September of last year, there was warning of a looming ban on the horizon.

Someone will have to go back and read the transcript.  I thought she said she read a part of it but didn't look too closely at the full list but didn't read the full letter.  I don't want to be suspicious but quite a lot of Russian athletes have been failing drugs tests as of late (even though Maria spends most of her time in the U.S.) and at least 3 other Russian athletes have failed tests for this same Meldonium.  Weird and confusing.

Oh yeah, for sure, every athlete should be aware of the banned substance list for their sport, especially for someone like Maria, who I believe is the highest paid woman in sports. Also, if you've been taking something for 10 years, you don't automatically think it will be added to the banned list (and if you don't know it's also known as another name), but it's your responsibility to check.  In this case, I think 6 months to a year would be a reasonable suspension.  Imagine if she had won the Aussie Open - it would've been a bigger story than it already is.

She's been injured a lot so maybe the unexpected suspension will let her really heal properly and bring her back to the tour stronger. If Cilic received 7 months then Maria shouldn't receive any worse. I'd say 5 to 6 months is fair….

    • Today reminded me as to why I’m a little disappointed in the name that the new Pope chose

Luckily, EJ and Johnny, and pretty much every other character saved today’s episode.  I didn’t expect Javi to be the one to save Sarah though, and I don’t mind it at all, because if it means that Javi is finally going to get his own identity/character, away from his douchy bf, I’m all for it. Javi’s scenes would’ve been a lot better had it not been for him. EJ and Johnny were the best part of today. Their conversation hit a lot of important beats and I’m so looking forward to seeing them play out. And now that EJ knows that Johnny is going to work for Xander, that opens up another dynamic to their storyline and to the Kiriakis family storylines as well. Tying them all together could be really good. There are so many story possibilities that can come out of this. And I thought Carson Boatman did a pretty good job again too.  I also liked that Johnny was there to comfort Chanel after everything that happened with Sarah. They’re so good together. But I do have mixed feelings about Chanel possibly forgiving Johnny so quickly. Hopefully, the question that she asked him at the end of today leads to more conflict for the two of them.  And yeah, still no changes in Alex’s character lol
    • Awesome, thanks so much for taking the time to grab the episode. I had a quick review of your rip because I was curious why it was 700MB and 30 minutes. The first 10 minutes of the episode is 3169 (opening credits at 5 minutes and again at 15 minutes). The full HD version of ep.3170 is on YouTube channel:

    • That's a name I haven't heard in a minute. Thanks!
    • Well, since I'm still up unexpected past my growing-into-it bedtime. lol.   I finally got to rewatch Monday's. I even rewatched Friday's to take it all in. Now that we got the reveal and hit the climax of the SilkPress Sheila storyline, now we get to watch the aftermath and/or turns that come with its climax. So far, so good. Friday left us with three cliffhangers. And what I found surprising was how I felt about them over a rewatch.    I know some of you all felt a way about the dialogue during Kat vs Eva. I remember liking it more the first time around and it was nice for them to have these scenes to establish more of a frenemy vibe for them going forward. That still held up. But I found myself agreeing with you all about that dialogue. lol. Still, it was nice to have both of their POVs.   Second up was Silk Press Sheila vs the Duprees. And I was happy to get a brief spat with Dani in there. But the rest standouts for me was Anita and Martin. Haters can hate and given the tail end of the episode, I will agree to a fault, but Brandon has impressed and he was on fire on Monday and had great subtle work on Friday. And that subtle work made it all the better. Like I believe I said when I was watching...BC has a much better grip on his character and seems to be realizing what his tics are so has started to be able to know when to turn it up and when to dial it down. And for the most part (emphasis on most), he got that. Meanwhile, TT was giving fierceness, and I was here for every minute of it. Her reading SilkPress. Her being quip about it. Her 'BE STILL.' Ooooo she had a chokehold on me as Anita gave what I was expecting her to SilkPress. WORTH THE WAIT. I also loved Vernon's CHOOSE SILENCE. I wonder though if SilkPress will figure out Martin's condition from her observing Anita and Vernon with him.   And speaking of worth it...Oooo YES Nicole vs Ted was worth totally worth it. Oooooo I knew DD would nail it, and it was all so well done. The fight between the part of Nicole who is a therapist vs Nicole as a woman who wants to express how she feels. And being so angry. And how there would be moments when it would shoot out of her. And how she would restrain herself. But how she felt she should not be restrain. Just the levels of processing and layers. And DD played it all so well. I do wish Maurice gave just a little bit more, but overall, I thought he did a good job even if it was just Ted coming across as a deadbeat and not at all redeemable. And Kat being there for her mother was so beautiful.   Minority, but I love the montage though yes, it did run a little long. Given how the Duprees like to bond (and also as I mentioned from my own very recent family experiences), it did not seem out of place to me.     That said...let's see how the aftermath worked in today's episode. Overall. Cuz RC can be hit or miss.
    • I wonder whose brilliant (

) idea it was to do an almost complete rip-off of the "who killed Tom King"-storyline. That's some quality style writing right there.....
    • The show is done. It got canceled at the end of January. https://www.soapoperanetwork.com/2025/02/fox-first-run-cancels-dish-nation-person-place-or-thing-pictionary-759232
