DAYS OF OUR LIVES
Tuesday, June 26

samichurchcries.jpg

Remember when sex on this show used to be hot and not just about getting pregnant or rape or rebelling against your parents or losing your virginity just to lose it?

Yesterday's show:

Chelsea is not blown away by her night with Nick; Lucas does not know if he can handle it if Sami's baby turns out to be E.J.'s; Sami confides in Marlena that she is worried she will lose Lucas if E.J. is the father of her baby; Sami's shocking sonogram.

Today's show:

Sami and Lucas discuss their shocking baby news; Stefano confronts EJ; Max gives Jeremy cash for the merchandise but worries about what and with whom he's gotten himself into

Damn, they're really writing Stefano as a crime boss this time around. Joe's whole approach just screams Godfather to me. I'm loving it.

Hmm. As much as I hate most of them, I think I smell a Max/Jeremy rivalry. I like Max and Darin, so picking sides won't be hard, considering I hate the other side

I have to say, though, I love that Nick stood up to Kate the way she did. Too bad she had a little mor eleverage left. Stupid bitch.

They are TOTALLY making this Godfather. Didn't you notice the other day when Stefano was talking about what would happen to EJ if he disappointed him he was shown peeling an orange?

I don't know if I like Stefano slapping around his sons so much though. I mean I know he was not above lying to his children, maybe brainwashing them and certainly locking them in a dungeon like he did Tony but I don't remember him hitting Tony or Peter and here we've seen Stefano hit both Tony and EJ and the two sons just take it. It doesn't feel Stefano-like to me. He is so great at his manipulations and mental chess games that these little flares of violence just seems beneath Stefano.

As for the plane stuff... I'm glad the DiMeras are involved so it makes this and the younger set a part of the greater umbrella Brady-DiMera storyline. I am really curious about what the merchandise is that they're running and if it's designer knockoff stuff that Anna DiMera is actually working for Stefano. Whatever it is though I will be extremely disappointed if this storyline does not end in a plane crash where someone dies, preferably Jeremy, but I'll take any casualties I can get from that crew.

I agree that Stefano seems different. The flares of violence as you said. He'd be more apt to stew and play a game, rather than just come out with something so instantly. That said, I have loved this new side of Stefano, even if it means is change of heart is for real and probably permanent.

I didn't watch it really closely today but from I could tell it was a great episode. I loved seeing EJ wth Max and Jeremy. It was hilarious to see Jeremy try to act all bad with EJ.

Loved the Sami/Lucas scenes since Lucas admitted that he doesn't think he can be a father to the twins. What a loser...

Lucas questions whether or not he can be a Dad to twins that aren't his, and that makes him a loser? That makes him human, I think. He's admitting to his wife and best friend that, yeah, he has his doubts. That takes courage, to show that kind of vulnerability.

I really don't understand soap fans today.

Hes a loser because hes a hypocrite. All along hes been saying "Oh I love you Sami forever and ever no matter what." He took VOWS even after learning the truth of what happened that night EJ escaped. Hes known this entire time that the REALITY is that EJ might be the father of those babies (which I hope happens) and yet hes told Sami that he'll love her AND the babies no matter what the paternity is. Have you not seen the scenes where he screams at EJ that hes the father no matter what? Hes been screaming it for weeks now.

And then today he says, "uhh on second thought I don't know if I can be their father." Pathetic really. Instead of being a man and being honest from the beginning. Whatever EJ's faults at least he tells it straight.

I'll let your "soap fans today" comment slip by....I'm not going to lower myself to attacking people based on how long they've watched a soap or what generation they're a part of.

    • I don't know if I could have seen that from her, honestly. But I feel like, outside of GH and her original DAYS stint, American daytime really didn't pay much attention to her, even though they should have.
    • Co-sign, 100% on this one. Xander was entirely in the wrong.
    • I'm seeing some interesting takes on this thread regarding Dani's behavior/personality, including right now. Here's my take on her: I think that Dani relishes in lighting people up. I think that's for multiple reasons.  I feel like Dani has probably largely been like this throughout her life. And that she gets joy in dragging people whenever she feels like it's necessary. I believe she feels like this is her being herself. I think one big reason why she's particularly giddy right now is because she's able to go back to acting this way, minus the hurt she's been dealing with due to Bill's affair. She got in Bill and Hayley's faces after their affair/wedding, but she was miserable doing it due to dealing with the hurt of that situation. Nicole's situation with Ted/Eva/Leslie allows her to act this way minus her suffering like she did at the hands of Bill. I believe she does empathize/care for her sister but is also interestingly enough rejuvenated by this situation. This situation is energizing her and making her act more like old self again, minus the being hurt by her own's husband's infidelity. I think Nicole's situation is a distraction for her from dealing with her own failed marriage to Bill.
    • Great episode, better than what the spoilers said. The gambling story was tolerable but Jon Lindstrom sucks in the role. Ambyr Michelle continues to shine. The diner and country club scenes were very well executed.  The Jan and Leslie scenes were very good! My favorite is Eva, now followed by Nicole.
    • Today's show was good. The only part I didn't care for were the Derek/Ashley scenes. I think they are bland together and Derek is very bland by himself. He is the least interesting character on the show IMO. I don't think they have much chemistry together. I appreciated Jan's reaction to Leslie. I like how regular/realistic her and Mona are as characters. Jan came across as very believable of being appalled and even hurt by Leslie's treatment of them and towards Eva in the diner.  Leslie continues to try and manipulate people with IMO her fake caring routine, only to show her true colors after she's confronted/called out for her treatment of others. I continue to dislike the way she mistreats Eva. Speaking of Eva she was great again today. I love her and I like how Martin comforted her in the diner. I liked that Vernon showed concern for her as well. They (especially Martin) will come around quicker to her before others (like the Dupree women) will. I also am glad to see her and Ted continue to bond and him behaving like a father towards her/helping her. He's the only one in her life who is fully trying to stand by her. I look forward to seeing their relationship grow.
    • Xander was screaming at Felicity.  He did do something wrong.  Felicity was clearly upset by it and Cat/Chad told him to stop.  That's fair.  No one deserves to be yelled at their job-and even I think this plot point is too preachy.  It's not acceptable behavior for anyone to do that.
    • When Derek finally appears with only a towel, and his chest and pecs/nipples are finally shown, I say yes.

    • Now, actually not. That thought had not even made it into my head, so, no, so far anyway, I've not seen that. Haven't seen today yet. What you're describing is warped & I think she's feeling genuine empathy & sister bond.
    • Xander was the bigger person apologizing to Cat when he didn't do anything wrong.  he wasn't yelling at Felicity whatsoever, he was asking if she possibly had given them the wrong order by mistake.  He was trying to get to the bottom of what was going on, but Chad/Cat were trying to white knight Felicity even though Felicity was being treated just like anyone else in that situation.   She was the one to bring the order out to them, and usually the person that brings the order out is the one that puts the order together.    I'm still getting a read on the Cat character.   I think she seems to work well when interacting with everyone other than Chad.   Perhaps the new writers can move Cat out of Chad's orbit into another orbit. Paulina has been written quite well the few times she's been on since the writer change.  I think Jackee is enjoying the new writing.. you can tell when she's on screen.
    • LOL - well, Peter was included in the grandkids' section, each named specifically with their $100K trusts.  It must have been the abs...

In Henry's will, he said it had to do with Hart having a chance at being a better person than his father, since his father isn't providing for him (I'm paraphrasing here, but it was about Roger).  Still a little surprised...
