I have to admit it, I am very surprised that OLTL had a 2.5 on Friday.

Especially compared to the beginning of the week and I also noticed that most soaps dropped on Friday, Y&R dropped a lot from Monday to Friday. I never expected OLTL's musical to gain that much in ratings.

Her last Live Appearance was on the 23rd of May (a Wednesday), the big fight. She had a few taped "episodes" after that, I believe.

Those decreases are tenths of a point and not a whole ratings point. Example...

"Y&R" (2004)...4.1 rating

"Y&R" (2005)...4.2 rating

"Y&R" (2006)...4.1 rating

"Y&R" (2007)...4.0 rating

When put into perspective like that, the loses are not as severe. The declines may even mirror the declines for the broadcast network's primetime audience as well.

While the daytime genre has certainly seen better days, I think it is premature to begin sounding a death knell.

I think the numbers will be even lower in the coming weeks. Love or hate her Rosie brought in the numbers and ABC was dumb in letting her go.
