Y&R Breaking News: Recently Vacated Role Recast!

This just in...

Earlier today, I reported on Adrianne Leon's sad revelation that she was abruptly fired from her role as Colleen Carlton on The Young and the Restless.

Well, the CBS sudser has just issued a recast announcement!

Australian actress Tammin Sursok is the new Colleen. Sursok's first tape date is Tuesday, June 26. She will first air on Monday, July 30.

The 23-year-old Sursok is best known as Dani Sutherland on the long-running Aussie soap Home and Away. She won Australian TV Week's Logie Award for best new female talent in 2001.

The Y&R folks seem fond of casting Aussie suds stars these days. FYI, Daniel Goddard (Cane) is also a former Home and Away castmember.

I would really like to know their reason for firing, if it is her weight. I hope AL sues.

I doubt she could. Proving it would be hard. And I'm sure like most hollywood contracts, there's that clause about changing your appearance.

I feel sorry for this new actress, because I along with many hate her already. LOL!

However, I must say from what I've seen of her on Home & Away, she's a very decent younger actress. No way in hell she's Christel Khalil bad. LOL!

Can she pull Colleen off and suppress her think Aussie accent with the amount of dialogue she has to recite each day, hmm, I don't know!

I'm gonna TRY to give this new actress a chance but as a Cadrian fan, this is a bitter pill to swallow. LML is ruining the show left and right and the execs don't seem to give a damn! How many talented actors/actresses are gonan have to quit/be fired before they see that LML is the worst thing to EVER touch Y&R?

Leon was fired but the screaming albino is still hogging up screen time day after day doing absoultly NOTHING! An Adrianne should have been fired but it shouldn't have been Leon.

I feel very sorry for this new actress because she is going to feel some hate through no fault of her own. Shame on you LML, for firing Adrianne Leon, shame on you for letting such a talented actress go.

I'm sure this girl is a fine actress but she looks NOTHING like the child of Brad and Tracie.

Exactly. Lyndsy & Adrianne definitely do, she doesn't.

Adrienne will not be a huge loss to Y&R (no pun intended)...but that bitch Latham is a real piece of work.

She is pretty much saying that she is going to continue with the shiddy writing with pretty people.

And we wonder why the ratings are dropping FOR ALL SOAPS!
