I simply can't believe how much this show has me laughing right now and it's for things that are INTENTIONALLY funny. Not just the "It didn't take" line as great as that was but the EJ and Sami stuff had me cracking up, too. Then at the same time we did get some great drama from Nick getting interrogated and Chelsea at the beach and all the stuff going on at the DiMansion. Liked the Doug/Julie and Bope stuff at the pub too. Man, Tony and especially Stefano being back is only about the best thing ever. I noticed the return of the furious flute, too, Kenny! Loved it! Ahhh it's just like I'm watching a whole different show compared to what we were getting a couple weeks/months ago.

Very good episode today!

I love the sense of adventure that is back. Characters are taking risks and being sneaky. They are plotting and scheming. It's so nice and suspenseful.

Love the fade out ending. Love the music at the end.

It is so weird to see Stefano so...off of his game and out of it. But he will be back in no time I'm sure.

Good job, Hoagie!

"It didn't take."

ROTFL when Rolf uttered that line. His facial expressions were priceless too.

I'm loving Tony this time around. That whole meditation ritual thing was so him. I AM EXCITED about Stefano's return. The show was fantastic today. Tomorrow looks even better.

GREAT show. Doug and Julie, good to have ya back. The Nick/Chelsea/Willow story was well done. I liked the Brady Pub elements, bringing up Doug's Place, and Shawn's obvious paranoia about this whole story. Hogie, great job.

I'm not the biggest Rolf fan, but even I had to laugh when he said "it didn't take".

"It didn't take" -- I loved the sheer brazenness of not even trying to explain why Rolf isn't dead, even though we saw his corpse rolled all over Salem!

Awesome episode. These can't possibly be the same writers who wrote the boring months of February-April. Only one complaint--it's time for a new hairstyle for Sami. I hate that style on her, and she's worn it that way for a week now.

Blake Berris was great today. I felt so bad for him when he was explaining to Chelsea that he just wanted to stand up to Willow, so she could see that he could. And I loved the cliffhanger with Bo catching Chelsea at the beach with the evidence bag. But poor Nick--what misfortune for him that the Salem PD are actually using their brains now. Of all the times for Roman to actually act like a cop!

Stefano! I have no words, just....STEFANO!!!!!!

Another absolutely awesome episode. Tony continues to completely rock. FLOVED the phallic sword pulled from between the legs and the oh-so-cool Tai Chi. Love Bart's consistent stupidity.

EJ and Sami continue to be adorable. I kind of hate the writers for making me love watching them together after what they had EJ did. Not sure what to do with that.

Loved the pub stuff. I want Doug and Julie to reopen Doug's place and stay in Salem. I caught a few anvils that make me think that just might happen. Bo and Hope continue to be adorable.

Nick and Chelsea were wonderful. They make me feel their emotional connection. And i love how unhesitatingly Chelsea agreed to do whatever Nick needed.

I cannot believe how much I'm loving all of this. The only thing that could make it better would be tossing S&K back into the mix.

Keep it up!!

also love Doug and Julie this time.they arent written as annoyingly as they did in the past (breaking into Bope house to bury a F'ing tree! ugh)

Bringing Julie and Doug back makes Hope seem like less of an island. With Jenn, Jack and Abby gone, and Alice offscreen, Hope has been the only real Horton around and she works so well in family scenes. (I know that Lucas is a retconned Horton, but he has never felt like a Horton to me. Nick and Jeremy are new, so they don't feel like Hortons yet either.) I do hope that BH and SSH stay in Salem, they fill a void IMO.

Sami and EJ's scheming together? Excellent! This was the kind of storyline that they should have had last fall. I am not going to apologize for being an EJami fan, the writers should apologize for being legally blind and tone deaf.

I know that I said that Nick doesn't feel like a Horton yet, but he is getting there and Berris is great addition. I could feel Nick's fear yesterday and I don't blame him. This a good guy that has inadvertently done something in a second, that he will be paying for for years.

Last year I posted that I wasn't looking forward to the return of the DiMeras, the past few days my outlook has changed. So far the returns of Tony and Stephano have been intriguing. I can't wait to see what happens today, and that does feel like the good ole Days.

Yesterday's line of the day was indeed Rolf's "it didn't take", and that was a clever way for the writers to handle the historical discrepancy. Soap fans know that their shows have thousands and thousands of episodes, and sometimes the past may have to be contradicted, but it is nice the writers acknowledge to the audience that is what they are doing.

It's was awesome to finally see Stefano again, Joe nailed that one scene. I am highly anticipating today's show now that I am just replying about Wednesday's eppy. So far I am just loving Tony and hopefully with Stefano back it will just get even better.

Julie annoyed me the last time she was on, but this time around she has been much better. Even as older folks, Doug and Julie still have it. I had to smile when she told Hope, 2am is when your grandfather has the most energy(I thought Doug was Hope's dad?) and immediately stopped what she was saying when Doug came back to the table. The pub scenes have been great, except for Caroline not being there.

I wasn't expecting Bo to find Chelsea at the end of the eppy, so it was a good surprise.

I just hope DAYS keeps this up ALL summer!

about it I think Jan is a fine supporting part for a solid daytime vet (probably someone from the P&G soaps), as opposed to someone from the production location who is clearly cheaper. Which seems to govern some casting. I get the rationale, but I would start going through the ATWT/GL, etc. rolodex myself.
    • I dont mind Jan. She's good in the minor capacity she is used.
    • tbqh I don't care about Jan, I don't care about Ashley and I think Jon Lindstrom as Joey is an acquired taste. Jon is a great actor but certain things are in his zone and then some are not. Some days I find Joey credible and compelling, but the stuff with him hanging around the Golden Corral, grumbling about Doug and bitching at Randy is not amazing. If he had material on par with what MVJ wrote for Ryan/Kevin on GH back in the day it'd be a different story. I do think he has real chemistry with Vanessa, which is in large part due to MVJ clearly molding that character (and hiring an appropriate actor) in the Lucy Coe vein when she reinvented Lucy in the '90s as well. But I am not here to spend 6+ months watching Jon glower a lot (which is what he's doing half the time to carry weak story) and make more vague dire pronouncements while Jen Jacob gets flustered and weepy over "Daddy" or whatever would come of that storyline. Putting them together sounds like a recipe for doom to me. But I may be in the minority on that.
    • I know this will never happen. But... Halle Berry as Dani Dupree(BTG). She would rock this role, it's in her wheelhouse.
    • When I see how bad the Ashley/Derek scenes are, I know there must be a larger purpose and Joey being her father is the thing that makes the most sense.  My take on it is that Ashley knows Joey is her father but doesn't know Joey. Maybe he was there when she was a child or just not around at all but I believe Jan when she says she didn't lie to her daughter about who her father was. Maybe she left him when she discovered his dangerous lifestyle.  I do think they could really jump start the character of Ashley if they hurry and do this. Jan is a great character and her scenes with Ashley have been helpful. This would further integrate Ashley into the canvas and give her something dramatic to do. With her working at the hospital along with Doug, it could lead to complications if she learns Doug is involved with her father. I just need is sooner rather than later because Derek is tanking her character. I need a distraction.
