Members Ryan
Most of his fans won't care. I know I don't. So what, he blinks. We all do, he just does it more than others. Maybe it's his "acting technique". He didn't do it on All My Children. It's not that big of a deal. There's no need to get all upset about something so minor. Members Ponz
Ugh. Get over yourself, Adrianna. Not every thread is a shipper war.
Members IMissAremid
I didn't see him during his run on All My Children, but the clips I have seen of him as Ethan on YouTube have him blinking pretty much just the same way that he does on Days. Maybe it just wasn't as noticeable then because he didn't get the same amount of screentime? I don't know. But even with the blinking, whatever the reason or cause of it, I still think he's the best actor on Days right now.
Members PoisonIvy
Actually, I've read that he has a condition that causes the blinking. It can also be aggravated by the lights he works under. bleph·a·ro·spasm (blf-r-spzm) n. Spasmodic winking caused by the involuntary contraction of an eyelid muscle. Yes, I'm an EJ fan and frankly, I could care less about his blinking....the man is a great actor, and mighty easy on my eyes...
Members DAMfan
IMO, like when EJ wears purple shirt, tie or etc - think he looks good in it and it's my favorite color.
Members SpiritualJunkie
Yeah, I've noticed the excessive blinking as well and wondered if it was a habit or some condition that he had. I had a prof who has the same problem as well. Nevertheless, I still think James Scott is one of the best actors on Days.
Members PhoenixRising05
Whatever the case, the man is still talented and fits in real well on the show. It could be a health condition or just something he does for the role. I honestly don't notice it much and it's not something that ruins scenes or anything. It's a good observation but it's a minor issue, if that, IMO.
Members juniorz1
It's obviously an acting choice and I think it works brilliantly with his character. It's almost like he does it just to hypnotize whomever he is speaking to.
Members WTGH
Forget the blinking. The "Eh?" at the end of every sentence GRATES!
Members DAMfan
I think EJ hypnotize the viewers too, IMO.
Members Money
Is it a character trait or an actor trait because I'm wondering if he blinked so much on AMC. It's getting to be annoying.
Members IMissAremid
If it is a character trait then Ethan had the exact same trait because James did the same thing on AMC. It is in the YouTube clips.
Members Gray Bunny
It is annoying, especially when it goes into hyperdrive, like when he was outside the car window that Sami was stuck in and his eyes were batting like a strobe light. At first I thought the air in the studio was dry or that he has sensitive eyes to the bright lights... but an acting technique? That's bizarre. Members Angie79
I have noticed it, but it doesn't bother me at all. I love EJ/James.
Members R Sinclair
OMG, he TOTALLY blinked his ass off on AMC!! It was like every time he talked, he'd blink every syllable. I don't think it's an eye problem, because he only blinks when he talks. But yes, he blinked just as much on AMC. As a matter of fact, when Ethan and Ryan were plotting against Zach, I used to refer to them as Blinky and Scratchy.
