Members Rudolpho Meradi
Interview with Steve Blackwood Is this character really necessary? I think the show could do just as well without Bart and his comedy.
Members darraholic
Meh. It's not like he'll be a character with a front burner storyline. He'll just be a supporting character to Stefano/Tony/Lexie/Anna.
Members KLN
THIS. CHARACTER. IS. POINTLESS.
Members DrewH
I don't find Bart pointless. Yes, he's an idiot, but I don't mind him that much. As long as he stays a supporting character and never, I repeat, never gets a storyline based on his own life, I will be fine. I get chills when rumors were going around that Bart would end up being Mimi's father.
Administrator Toups Posted May 22, 2007 Administrator Share Posted May 22, 2007 I love Bart and I think Steve B. is such an awesome comedic actor. Bart is part of the Dimera clan and he'll provide some comedy to go along with his henchman duties. I will welcome him back with open arms. Members PhoenixRising05
He is pointless but as long as he remains supporting I can tolerate him. I just don't want him to take away from the essence of the Dimea's like he did under Langan and JER and I have hopes that he won't.
Members KLN
That's my biggest fear. He'll take situations that should be played dramatically and turn them into a campy comedy-fest, instead. I resent his entire existence.
Members Keith
This is my whole problem with the two returning henchmen. Up until this point, we had all these random, underfiuve Italian dudes. Why the need to change this? Less money spending! I hate how much of an idiot (in the manner of Joe Mascolo's accent, please) Corday can be. Stefano, Tony, Anna, and Lexie would have done nicely on their own, with a side of useless day players.
Members DrewH
Yes, I was liking the Italian underfives as well. Maybe Bart and Rolf won't last after summer. Probably not, but whatever...
Members PhoenixRising05
I agree. The random Italian guys that were being used were much better. It reminded of the 80's when you saw random henchmen. Rolf can be quite dark and twisted. He just needs to be written properly. Bart is only known for being comical most of the time. I can tolerate them but I don't see a point to them although I see more use for Rolf then Bart.
Members Keith
I don't care how they could be written. I'd have much more faith in Tony's (and Stefano's, for that matter) writing without them.
Members KBT
I think Steve Blackwood is annoying, plus I loathe the character of Bart. However, I am looking forward to Rolf although I hope he is more serious this time around and means business for once.
Members KLN
Steve Blackwood seems more interested in his own agenda of becoming a big comedy star than actually doing what's best for the creative good of the show.
Members KMan101
Meh. I like Steve Blackwood but I don't think Bart is necessary. And um ... are we ever going to find out how Rolf comes back? He was clearly dead back in 2003 ... so ... lol. What's the deal with that?
Members Ridge
IA Keith, and for a show so drenched in budget problems the fact that they have brought him and Rolf on is kind of dumb. Blackwood says we will be seeing him frequently... Err why?? No one is watching this show for Bart? And not once have I considered him a memorable DAYS character in DAYS timeline.
