Apparently talks with Renee have hit a snag so Evangeline TOO will be going into a coma. The trend of MIA actors with contract talks on OLTL continues. First Nora, John, Natalie...

St. John's co-star Renee Elise Goldsberry (Evangeline) also reportedly asked for the stars, and was given a firm "no." She walked. Consequently, Evangeline will soon fall into a coma, reversible only if the actress changes her mind.

And TSJ has still not signed anything yet.

Things don't look so good for "OLTL's" Trevor St. John (Todd), who reportedly asked for the moon, got it, and then turned around and asked for the stars, too. He had still not re-signed as of yesterday.

Ironically, St. John's predecessor in the role of Todd - Roger Howarth - also has a contract expiring at "As the World Turns," where he plays Paul. Sources say Howarth has been asked to take a pay cut, which he is balking at, but stopped short of saying he would leave "ATWT" and return to the role he created (and won an Emmy for) at "OLTL."

I'm so torn about Roger.

I love Paul. But the writing for him is horrid. Paul Stenbeck Ryan being reduced to the Snyder psychic babysitter is ridiculous. He SHOULD be written as the son of James and Barbara, I don't know why the show moved away from that.

On the other hand, Roger's Todd is my favorite character EVER. I would love to see him return to Llanview. But there are also rumors that he could return to Llanview to play a relative of Todd's, which, while it would be VERY strange to see him in Llanview and NOT playing Todd, might be an interesting angle.

I love TSJ as Todd but I wouldn't mind seeing Roger back. There's just more history with Roger that I can't feel with TSJ, as much as I love him.

And honestly, in this trying times, why are actors asking for the moon and the stars? LOL. They should know better.

Good for OLTL, TSJ and REG are in no position to ask for the moon and stars, they haven't even been on the show that long.

I loved Roger's Todd; the tortured anti hero but I do feel that TSJ has made the role his own.

Roger is being wasted at ATWT, but OLTL shouldn't fall hostage to his demands once again.

I hope REG and TSJ can work osmething out. If not, I wouldn't mind Tangeline leaving town together.

I would love to see Roger back in town as a relative of Todd's. Can you imagine if he and Marty hooked up? If only Susan Haskell would come back....

Maybe TSJ should play a relative of Todd's. I don't know about anyone else, but for as much as TSJ has made Todd his own, Roger's portrayal made him seem invinscible. I'll never beleive that his version of Todd would've been so easily handled by the likes of Margaret and Spencer.

LOL what they could do if Roger did return to OLTL have him be the REAL Todd, and TSJ's "Todd" have been brainwashed into believing he was Todd, and he's really Walker Lawrence

I have a feeling that since Michael Easton received the "moon and the stars" other actors feel they deserve the same.

I would love to see Roger Howarth back on OLTL.

I bet they both re-sign and re-sign quickly. It does appear that OLTL is really putting the screws to TSJ. That Hinsley story didn't make him look too good.

04.06.07: So now my webmaster (who seems to really know what’s going on) reports that Soap Opera Weekly says I have issues related to Renee’s contract. The truth of the matter is, mine is a businesslike contract negotiation conducted in a professional manner — on all sides — and I would never interfere in Renee’s business. The folks at ABC and I are doing our best to work out my new agreement, and I’m sure we will. I have a great job and great fans, and I appreciate both.

REG and TSJ are looking out for themselves. It's shortsighted, but when the show lacks any sort of vision or leadership, it is to be expected. After ME probably got the moon, stars, and the universe, I can't blame them for asking. The problem is that the pie was shrinking even as ME asked for his huge slice.

Just curious -- soapdish looks defunct. Any story there?
