When Hogan first started on DAYS last fall, Shawn and Belle were near the top of the rankings and I didn't mind. I felt that with Brandon Beemer and Martha Madison in the roles, it didn't seem like a problem. I never even noticed them being on a lot until the rankings would be posted. That's changed. I notice SHELLE on every single day. May not be a good thing...

I don't mind Rachel Melvin being up there. The writing has improved. Melvin's acting has improved. Chelsea's an enjoyable character to watch now. This time last year when Rachel's name was at the top, I was pissed.

Way to Julie Pinson! I'm glad Billie's being written for. She deserves to be up there and have chance to shine. I feel that she could be a great leading actress on this show, if given the material. Hey Hogan, if you're reading, that means give Billie a story!

Way too much Shawn/Belle. They started out the month with lots of Chelsea/Nick and it ended up with the island stuff on everyday.

I look for improved numbers in April. Looking at the year overall, it felt like Bo, Hope, and Marlena have been in less episodes then that. They got most of those episodes in January though, which is sad.

I think next month will be better and that May will be really good.

Way too much Shawn and Belle, agreed. And did we really need 15 episodes of Billie??

I didn't really mind seeing Billie because she wasn't around all that much in Jan and Feb but most of the rest are over-exposed. Shelle is the worst because it's been pretty constant with them. At least with Chelsea, Nick, Billie, Steve, Kayla, etc we get a couple days here and there without them but Shelle are off for like 1 or 2 days and then here they come again for like 10 more in a row.

Has there been a single month in the last year when Shelle wasn't in the top 10 or even top 5 on airtime?

It really has gotten ridiculous.

Good Lord, when's the last time Suzanne Rogers was above Drake Hogestyn for the year?! Too bad they both can't be on more....

Those March rankings make for UGLY reading.

*Billie Reed- a character unpopular with two major fanbases- in second place.

On the positive side, Suzanne Rogers got 4 eps.

Good to see Alison Sweeney, Bryan Datillo, Mary Beth Evans and Stephen Nichols in the Top 10 for the year. I also don't mind Beemer/Madison and Melvin in the Top 10.

HOWEVER, if DAYS is wondering why they are in 7th place in the HH ratings, they need to look NO farther than below:

NONE of these actors should EVER EVER EVER be able to place ahead of the 4 biggies (and SN/MBE) in these rankings. I like Blake Berris and Rachel Melvin, but they should not be as high as they are. Same goes for Julie Pinson and James Scott. All of these actors should be just outside the Top 10 IMO

The TOP 10 in every month IMO should be the following (in no order)

And as for Burgstede, well shouldn't even be a part of the rankings, she REALLY should be out searching for a job at McDonalds, along with her on-screen brother no-talent reject Frank Mentier!

wow....those numbers are just sad...even sadder than the lower ratings. (hmm, could there be a connection? )

It is times like these that I am really missing last year when we had Hope & Bo front and center and still had Jack & Jennifer (sniff, tear).

My only solice is that I still get to watch Steve & Kayla everyday and get to see Sami and Lucas at least together 1-2 times a week.

This show needs some major refocusing. The general writing is leaps and bounds better than anything Reilly could ever write, but the cast balance is MAJORLY bad, the worst I have seen since Teen Invasion, Tropical Temptation, Salem High era!

Also, if history teaches DAYS anything it is that if Alfonso/Reckell/Hogestyn & Hall are backburned for too long, major ratings erosion happens.

This is what is happening now. 1 of the 4, appearing MAYBE twice a week is NOT enough, no where NEAR.

DAYS needs to get a storyline together that will bring these 4 back to the forefront of the DAYS canvas and lets the supporting characters BE the supporting cast (and not the other way around).

I love Martha Madison and Brandon Beemer, but these characters are Supporting Characters as are Chelsea/Nick, Max/Abby, EJ and such.

Fringe characters like Willow, Gabby, Duck, Jed ect need to be fringe characters, ones that come and go and supporting the supporting/leading characters and not the other way around.

DAYS has it all backwards at the moment!
