From TV Guide:

ABC Daytime vet Randolph Mantooth (Loving/The City) has been tapped for a recurring role on OLTL. He'll play Kirk Harmon, the father of underwear-modelling jock Tate Harmon. The character will debut sometime in May.

----------------------------------

Most recently he was Benjamin Hendrickson's (RIP) replacement on ATWT as Hal. I thought he did a good job in a very difficult role to pull off. But he is best known for his role on the primetime series Emergency! which is available on DVD (seasons 1-3).

I haven't watched OLTL in a few weeks, but I'll definitely be tuning in to see him. Hopefully they put him with Dorian.

Randolph is so good. I read somewhere that he tested for the role of Clint when Jerry Ver Dorn got it.

His best soap role to date was as the fake Clay Alden on Loving. He turned out to be Alex Masters and played him on both Loving and then The City.

He has such great chemistry with Lisa Peluso in the role and Christine Tudor too.

I will be glad to see him on OLTL, but I am getting a little worried with so many new characters. It seems like every time we turn around again it is a new character either on recurring or contract. I like that this guy is older and he is a vet, but still OLTL needs to slow down again.

The actor would be a good addition. Hopefully someone besides Dena creates and develops the character.

Peter, Doug, Kirk? Maybe Nora and Viki can get some decent story going out of this.

Steve is correct, though. OLTL needs to quit with all the new characters. It only reinforces all the old problems.
