Okay, after all the praising here, I watched the episode. And I liked it! :)

After such a long time, I watched a DAYS eppy and I liked it!

First, Max and Abby are really cute. I liked their little date and how it ended up being spoiled, first by Jed (sort of) then by Maggie. And I understand Maggie could be worried that Max would just date Abby for a while and then dump her like he dumped Chelsea, Stephanie (and was gonna dump Mimi if she didn't leave town first). So I get why she is worried. And it's okay, cause Max will have to prove his love for Abby to Maggie, to Abby, to us and to himself maybe.. :D

EJ/Steve scenes bored me to hell. And JSF, why wouldn't she order Steve a straightjacked? He is in a freaking mental institution. He is jumping on people every once in a while and he is stealing things. Do it, doctor! LoL

Sami/Celeste scenes were okay. Nothing extra. But okay. I like that they use Celeste. Although, I'm hoping she won't go missing after she fullfilled her purpose to try to persuade Sami to kill EJ. Sami/EJ scene by the end was okay. EJ is so much better when he's with Sami, than when he's with Steve. Earlier when he was with Steve, he seemed bored... lol

And finally, Chick... I do love them! And even though Chelsea didn't like Nick at the time, I think she has every right to be upset. Because I wouldn't want to be with someone who claimed loved me forever, but they had sex with my father or something.. lol Rachel and Blake did a good job. At first, I didn't like Julie's acting at all, but then when Chelsea left with her little suitcase, Julie's acting got better for me. Oh and Abby/Chels scenes in the bathroom at the Penthouse Grill, Ashley was also great!

I think that's it... I will tune in for the fire stuff.. hopefully, this is a sign that DAYS is getting better! ;)

Oh please. Maggie is pushing for her to date Jed, who is the brother of that skank Willow she fired at Chez Rouge. So why all of a sudden would she want her with him? Makes no sense. The writers are scraping at the bottom of the barrel trying to make Maggie disapprove. I would think she wouldn't want Abby anywhere near Willow or her family. If they are trying to make those god-awful Stark siblings smelling like roses, ain't gonna happen. If it walks like trash and talks like trash, it's trash.

I have to agree. I've liked the last couple episodes but it almost feels like a different soap to me. I'm not a fanbase type of viewer--I have my favorites but will watch no matter who is on--but I'm really missing our vets. This group of young characters is very talented, but they are just not pulling me in to their stories like has happened in the past. Monday's episode gave me a little hope, because I found myself very drawn into Chelsea's storyline and I'm feeling very sad for her, and I hope her phone call to Bo means we're going to see him involved. But even then it will probably be isolated scenes, maybe even involving Billie, instead of family scenes with Hope and the baby. And I really miss Marlena and John's involvement with all that's going on with their children and the Dimeras. I think more than anything I'm sad because DOOL appears to be undergoing a lot of changes that make it feel less familiar. I want back the Brady pub, Alice's kitchen, Bo and Hope's flirty scenes, John and Marlena's romance--but I'm starting to worry those days may be gone for good. And if it is, and I NEVER thought I'd say this, I'm okay with DAYS ending in 2009. And this is coming from a viewer who has watched this show for 37 years.

I disagree. Maggie should disapprove after the shameless insubordination displayed by Abby in recent episodes. Say it's a small thing, but Abby's NEGLECTING to come back to Chez Rouge to fold napkins with Maggie, after she explicitly said she WOULD, opting instead to grease it up with Max, shows what a bad influence he is on her. Don't rip my head off for that, I'm a Mabby fan too, but Abby needs to take it down SEVERAL notches and stop treating her elders like CRAP that she can walk all over and it's okay because her feet are protected by the soles of her shoes!

    • Eeek. I didn't know this either! I will say, though, even though they skimmed over a lot of Roger's past, I will give them props for not trying to turn him into a hero. Yeah, I was hoping we would get more 1986 episodes than were available on YT before, but now I'm wondering if I really want to see that.
    • That's what Julie Hanan Carruthers is doing for BTG at the new studio in Atlanta, but JHC is credited. And @errol said JHC is working in a nonproduction capacity at Y&R.
    • I remember when the whole Missy Reeves controversy started in 2012.  She tweeted support of a business that had made homophobic statements. Greg Rikaart (who was on Y&R back then) publicly called her out on it, but was willing to reach out and speak with her. Article here: https://greginhollywood.com/greg-rikaart-talks-about-his-twitter-war-with-fellow-soap-star-melissa-reeves-over-anti-gay-chick-fil-a-73139 That being said, ten years later, on DAYS, in 2022, when they had they double wedding of Leo/CraigWesley and Gwen/Xander, Jack and Jennifer came to the wedding.  At that time, Missy Reeves was only intermittently available for DAYS. Jennifer was living "in Boston" and Cady McClain and Missy were each intermittently appearing as Jennifer, on the specific occasions when the show required a Jennifer to appear. Missy wasn't on contract and she could have said no. But she chose to appear as Jennifer for the gay wedding of Greg Rikaart's character.   So... I mean... I would assume they reached a détente behind-the-scenes. Missy still has her belief system but there's that.
    • That was one of the best grandslam finals.  Alcaraz comes all the way back down 2 sets to 0, and three match points in the 3rd set, to win it in a 5th set tie-break.  And the quality of play was excellent - so many great shots.  What a battle!
    • Indeed. I may try to watch it in full sometime, but not anytime soon... Mark played Sean Baxter for a few episodes when Courtney married Andy. Burke was either on Broadway or at OLTL at that time, I suppose.
    • Well, Josh was a horndog. LOL Yep. It was one of the first really weird things Reva did with her PPD. She became obsessed with the idea that Dylan and Sam should get married. Sam was only 17, and needed her parent's permission. Reva helped them leave town so they could go to a neighboring state where Sam was old enough. Ross, Billy and Josh stopped them, then Sam went to India to try and persaude Justin. Reva followed her and didn't tell Josh she was going. While Reva was gone, Josh advertised for nannies, and Harley applied. He ended up hiring someone else. But when Reva returned, she hired Harley because (in her weird mental state) she wanted someone she could trust with the kids (because she feared Josh was trying to get rid of her and that Vanessa wanted the children.). After Reva starts treatment, she asks Harley to stay until she's stronger because she's good with the kids. At the party, Reva starts going off the rails, insulting Justin and Josh hauls her to a private dining room to ask WTF. Reva starts confronting him about the "affair" with Vanessa, and he realizes she is weird. He locks her in the dining room and frees Mindy and Van from the ladies room (where Reva has locked them in). Van starts telling him that Reva attacked her and needs help.  Reva escapes out the window of the dining room and goes back to the party, climbs onto a table and starts a striptease. Josh gets her to stop, takes her home and after filling Ed in, decides to go to the doctor the next day. Reva then takes off and spends days running around town, coming on to a guy she thinks is Billy, Billy, Hamp, Frank and Roger.  Roger takes her to his apartment and takes nude pictures of her, which he tries to blackmail Billy with. He wants the deed to the land the Towers is on in exchange for them. (Billy had been left the deed by a sweet old lady who lost her home in the 5th street fire. Roger had stolen the deed from her before she died. After Roger took those pics of Reva, she saw him hide them, and took an envelope from the hiding place. She didn't realize she'd taken the deed and not the pictures.)  Anyway, Billy and Vanessa trick Roger into burning the pictures, claim the deed and at the Towers opening reveal that Billy owns the land and therefore the Towers. That's what led to Roger and Alex's breakup and Roger and Mindy's affair. Mark Lewis was on ATWT? 1986 is not a good year, storywise. No bueno. Muy no bueno.
    • All the time they spent trying to make viewers feel sorry for Chad only for him to not even last that long. I wonder if they knew Richard Burgi was going so quickly. You're right about Josie replacing Cheryl. On paper, this should have made sense, given all the ties Josie had to the canvas, but I did prefer Cheryl. There was something very synthetic about Alexandra Wilson.  I suppose even if she did have some fans they were just so used to getting rid of people left and right, so she was more collateral damage. As you said above I do wonder what the plans were for Peggy Lazarus. I think AWHP mentioned her once telling Peter that Peggy Lazarus wasn't her real name. Maybe she would have been another Carl moll... Rebecca Hollen never did get her due in her soap roles.
    • So true...Hackney might have had a story on FC with Richard being an old lover of his, but reveals herself to be a Cartel member and blackmails Richard with something into doing her dirty work  LOL. But of course Richard had his hands full with the double trouble sisters Ms. Jones and Ms. Braxton that season.

    • Cat herself will be a stumbling block all her own as she vowed to Chad to stay away from him, thus redeeming her of her crime morally. Classic DAYS would have them gazing longingly at each other at Doug's Place or Blondie's, while Liz is serenading the room with a song aptly chosen to represent their feelings of emotional turmoil.
