Daytime Emmy Nominations: Discussion

I can understand ABC fans being pissed, but really, compared to NBC fans, there's no comparison. NBC is BLATANTLY slapped in the face year after year after year by Emmy, and there are PLENTY of actors that are just as deserving as those on the other two networks of getting recognition for their work. I'm not surprised at all about Kristian Alfonso and Peter Reckell, but trust me, I am PISSED.

There is no way that CBS deserved to own ALL BLOCKS IN THE LEAD ACTRESS CATEGORY........

There is no way that CBS deserved to have 4 of the 5 blocks in the lead actor category.

There were GLARING omissions from both ABC and NBC and fans have a right to be pissed off.

IA, Jeanne Cooper shouldn't be there. But what about Genie?

ETA: They both have the same sounding names.

I felt the same way when Joshua Morrow and Sharon Case were shafted last year.

I for one am glad that Trevor St. John was not nominated for his hammy acting. If he had been nominated and Kassie had not, I would have been livid. As it is, I don't see how Kassie was overlooked for Crystal Chappell or Jeanne Cooper.

We really don't need to argue over who gets screwed out of the Emmys more, NBC or ABC. The fact is that both were screwed royally this year and it's a shame.

Because they didn't prevail this year? Don't the fans complain how EVIL the network is.

The only glaring oversight from ABC was Nancy Lee Grahn for 'Best Actress,' and Michael E. Knight for Best Lead Actor, and I would say GH for 'Best Show' and Scott Clifton for 'Best Younger Actor' (since he got nommed for 'lesser' work). Other than that, they did good.

Anthony Geary (Luke Spencer, GH)

Rick Heart (Ric Lansing, GH)

Dan Gauthier (Kevin Buchanan, OLTL)

Renee Elise Goldsberry (Evangeline Williamson, OLTL)

Heather Tom (Kelly Cramer, OLTL)

Genie Francis (Laura Spencer, GH)

Rebecca Herbst (Elizabeth Webber, GH)

Julie Berman (Lulu Spencer, GH)

Leven Rambin (Lily Montgomery, AMC)

OLTL/GH in respective categories.

Again...nothing to be ashamed of.

Renee didn't deserve a nomination

Heather Tom is no longer employed by ABC

Dan is no longer employed by ABC

Levin Rambin hasn't been seen in months and IMO should have not be nominated

I'm still on the fence about Genie but glad she got nominated.

Rebecca Herbst....why?

There were people who deserved nominations over others (i.e. Jacob Young, Michael E. Knight)

Nancy Lee Grahn was ROBBED just like Bree Williamson was ROBBED last year. It's ridiculous.

AMC actors were omitted why? Minus Levin Rambin (who is never on), no one else got nominated. And it's unfair. They chose 4 people from ABC in the supporting actress category...why? Not to give praise but to split the vote. No one is stupid, it was done as strategy.

That's true, but in general, there is no debating the fact that NBC is screwed over by the Emmys FAR more than ABC.

No one is debating that fact......

So seeing as how they didn't deserve noms then they weren't robbed. No? Why would AMC prevail? Didn't y'all say it sucked, and MEK was the only one who deserved a slot? IA about NLG.

Buuuut ABC fans, GH has the record for most 'Best Show' awards, and OLTL has the record for most 'Best Actress' awards. Sheesh.

I'm curious to know what DAYS submitted, if anything. I know that they usually tend to submit less-than-stellar episodes (such as the now-infamous Graduation show from a few years ago).

I didn't those people were robbed. To say someone who is nominated was robbed would be silly......

My point is, there were better people to be chosen (minus Dan and Heather) all around. I would replace Renee w/ someone from DAYS for sure....

I remember them submitting that episode. I was baffled.

And why does that matter?
