Believe me Days numbers are nowhere near where Corday thought they would be with Hogan. GH is outshining them in the ratings. Days was the soap that was suppose to challenge B&B for the #2 spot and not GH. So what went wrong?

Phoenix, let me say again I admire you for always being such a passionate advocate for your favorite soap!

I hope Corday and Sheffer know they have such devoted supporters!

It's my belief DAYS needs to concentrate on the big couples, and by that I mean John/Marlena, Bo/Hope, Steve/Kayla, Sami/Lucas AND either Jack/recast Jennifer, or Jack on his own and back permanently.

The younger couples, especially Shelle, just don't do it for me, but that's just a personal opinion not everyone will agree with.

Don't forget the Anna Nicole Smith factor. The news channels that covered the hearings and Court TV all increased their ratings. Those ratings came from somewhere and it looks like they siphoned off soap viewers. And face it, right now ANS is the ultimate soap!

People are acting like it's Hogan's fault the ratings dipped. I don't know if you realized, but ALL of the soaps took a dive in the ratings this past week. I could see the outrage if DAYS was the only show that fell, but it wasn't. Jesus, when things are going good it's going good and everyone wants to ride the coattails. The first sign of trouble and people want to jump off the bandwagon.

It's not Hogan's fault that actors are taking vacations. It's not Hogan's fault that there may not (though it was denied) be enough money to pay the pricey vets. He got a show that was in shambles and have made GREAT improvements since his time on the show.

I'm not going to blast him and his team for writing under the cirumstances they have to work with at DAYS. As I said before, DAYS is not the only show that has fallen.

NO days wasnt the only soap that fell, but days has been falling steadily.Days lost lots of characters.Yes some needed to go like carrie and austin, but hogan sheffer is not writing for his ATEAM:bo hope john and marlena. Why would u put these powerhouses on the backburner.Plus you still have to pay them.So you got someone like deidre hall sitting on the sidelines getting paid big bucks.Hogan better wake up before he gets the boot!

Carrie, Austin, Jack, Jennifer, Tek, Stephanie, Frankie, Patrick, Lexie, Bonnie, Mimi, Jason Cook have all left within the last 6 months.

DAYS Big 4 (Marlena, John, Hope, Bo) are on the backburner and looks like they will stay there for months.

Abby, Max, Jed, Nick, Chelsea, Willow, Shawn, Belle, Phillip on the frontburner

EJ is the main character on the show.

The Vets/Hortons are non existant.

But hey the writing is good (i.e Boring)

I would rather have JER back. The writing wasn't up to par. but at least he he wrote for John, Marlena, Bo, Hope and knew how to balance the show.

I agree with your post soooo much! Why is ken Corday allowing this to happen?!!!!!!!!!!

Re DAYS: Clearly, the constant focus on EJ, Willow, and the young set, while much better than SSM & Langan's teens of 1999-2002, is not driving in the ratings. Many long-time fans are gone, and those used to JER's reliance on plot-driven storytelling instead of mature and believable dialogue along with character-driven stories are getting even more bored by the minute. If the writers are waiting until summer to jump-start things, they've made a bad decision.

I agree. I hope these poor ratings light a fire under Hogan so he'll pick up the pace. DAYS needs as much momentum as it can get right now, and this, while good quality-wise, just isn't cutting it.
