Y&R: Emmy Snub?

Did Victoria Rowell quit The Young and the Restless because she didn't feel the love? The fireball actress has released a statement saying she'll exit her role as Dru on April 1. Set sources say she's po'd that she didn't get enough votes from her cast mates to land a spot on the Emmy nomination ballot. And the diva's press agent isn't denying those rumors. Word is, CBS was blindsided by Rowell's announcement, but frankly it's not that hard to write her out. Next week's plot has her Dru being admitted to a mental institution. Why not just leave her there?

I think she has a right to be upset. I mean Victoria Rowell acted her heart out last year with lets face us, questionable material for the character of Dru. The whole Davetta/Christel thing also probably has her p.oed.

The cast are see you en tee esses for not voting for Vicky! Why is the overrated (but great) Stafford CONSTANTLY NOMINATED. And what exactly did Jeanne Cooper do this year that was noteworthy. I cant stand the thought of Tracey Bregman getting a nom as well, particularly when she has always benefited off the strength of OTHER actors.

Victoria was a lead this year too. She carried this show from the time she returned from that break she took mid spring.

Victoria and the rest of the cast must not have a very good relationship. If Kristoff can get pre-nomed, I see no reason why Victoria shouldn't be as well, since they were involved in the same damn storylines. There's been rumblings for years that Rowell had bad set behavior, but I didn't want to believe it, but as I look back on it, it could very well be the case why she didn't get a pre-nom.

Bregman is a great actress, it's just that the material isn't there for her a lot of the time. Stafford seems to be very well liked and popular amongst the Y&R cast, and let's face it, she's on the show more than any other woman. Cooper's pre-nom was a big WTF? moment for me, as she really didn't do much of anything last year. Also, I think Eileen Davidson just got a token goodbye pre-nom, as she seems very well liked by the Y&R cast as well.

Bregman is half the actress Rowell is and besides, Bregman is a recurring player and spent half the year on the shelf with no real storyline. None that got near as much play as Dru's did.

I believe it was "Gray Bunny" who was an intern at Y&R some time ago and explained about a big disagreement between Rowell and Stafford that resulted in halted production and very diva-like behavior.

Maybe that's why?

Either way, it's NOT professional. You don't give people accolades because you like them. You give them accolades because they worked the work. And damn it, she worked the work well!

I'm not attacking Michelle, but I think Case should be there before her. Case had tons more work, whereas Michelle was reduced to giggling Stepford wife.

I'm still scratching my head wondering WTF Cooper did last year. I think Stafford, Case and Rowell should have been pre-nominated in the lead catagory dan if each show could only pre-nom 2 in each catagory, I would have put Rowell in supporting with Judith Chapman.

But, if you don't get along with your cast mates, they can/will make it personal. Maybe Rowell was the blind item a few months ago that said "an actress had a big blow-up on set and their male co-star had to calm them down."

I was totally surprised by Case's snub, especially since many thought it was a travesty she didn't get a Emmy nod last year. With Stafford, they just didn't know how to write for her last year, but of course LML still wants to overexpose Phyllis - a character she has no idea how to write for.

I can't believe that VR would leave the show just because of an emmy snub. It might have been the final nail, however.

VR can shove for all I care if she is indeed leaving mainly because her cast members didnt vote her in. Of course she has the right to be pissed off as would I in her situation but to just up and leave the show because of it, that screams diva in my opinion. I don't know what its like on set of Y&R, but it seems VR has just rubbed people in the cast the wrong way and maybe she isn't well liked because of how she acts and is the main reason she didn't get full support from her castmates.

I can't believe that VR would leave the show just because of an emmy snub. It might have been the final nail, however.
