Members JER Soaps Fan
The JR and Babe scenes were the best thing I saw on "AMC" "Passions" or "Days" today. (excepting hot EJ on "Days" of course). But honestly, Alexa and Jacob are PHENOMENAL performers. And AMC is a well written soap. The dialogue is fresh and things stay interesting. I'll never understand how some "fans" turn against it. I love "Passions" but let me tell you, if you want a "real" soap, AMC is like a splash of water in the desert. There's no comparison when it comes to character driven (as opposed to plot driven, stiff) dialogue.
Members JER Soaps Fan
I'm not. THe second that hoodlum tried to MOUNT JULIA with another child in the house, with the DOOR UNLOCKED, I wrote him off. SLUTS!!!
Members alwaysAMC
I actually agree with this - the only problem is we only get character-driven stories and dialogue once in a blue moon nowadays
Members Kylie
The Jamie/Julie and Kathy seems sounds sweet. Just because Jamie and Julia were in bed together, doesn't mean it's going to morally corrupt her. As a child, it always made me feel better to know that my parents were together, if I went in to see them in the middle of the night. Something about their loving each other made me feel, safer. And Jamie being shirtless, so what? My brother runs around the house in his boxers.LOL I think it's nice that Kathy has a sense of "family" around her. It's not like Jamie is a one night stand and will be gone in the morning. Kathy probably felt the safest she's felt in months with those two. It sounds like a nice change for AMC. And at the end of the day, Jamie is her brother. Her blood. Her family.
Members JER Soaps Fan
But see, that's the thing. It was obvious that Jamie wanted to hit that. And it's all about timing. Thank GOD IN HEAVEN that little Kathy didn't walk in on them later, but it could have happened. And for that, I disrespect Jamie now. Besides, are we forgetting that poor Kathy is confused enough as it is? She doesn't need to see two "friends" sharing a bed. It's in poor taste. Members alwaysAMC
I 100% agree with you - there was nothing wrong with the scenes - and I too as a child felt safer knowing my parents were together. Plus Jamie had a shirt on! lol - he wasn't even shirtless. I think JSF might be the only one who didn't like the scenes....
Members JER Soaps Fan
But, are Jamie and Julia married? Or in a deeply committed, confirmed relationship like I assume your parents were (which no doubt enhanced if not caused that feeling of security)? A big fat no. Members alwaysAMC
My parents didn't get married until I was in late elementary school - and we didn't live together as a family until 2nd grade - so when I saw my parents together in bed as a kid - whether they were reading the paper or reading a book or just laying there watching TV - I felt so safe and happy that they were together. Jamie and Julia had plenty of clothes on in bed today - and Jamie only kissed Julia 2-3 times before Julia sweetly said "I think we have company" - that was IT. It was adorable - and the way Jamie was playing with Kathy was adorable. There was nothing wrong with any of those scenes...nothing at all IMO! Members Kylie
Marriage makes it right? I think love does. All a child needs to feel safe is to feel love not matter where it comes from. And that's what Kathy needs most right now, to feel loved and protected, safe. Marriage is a piece of paper to kids Kathy's age. I haven't seen this show in a very long time, but is sounds like not only does Tad have a bond with Kathy, so does Jamie...and that makes this scene even sweeter. That's his sister. The little girl he wanted for so long. The baby sister he mourned. Twice, if you include Bess. So for me, Jamie with his sister, and being loving and supportive has been a long time coming. Members Pine Charles
They've been dating for awhile and are committed to each other, aren't they? Forgive me, because I don't watch everyday anymore, but I don't think either Julia or Jamie sleep around with other people. They're not swingers! It’s not like Bianca seeing Erica and Jackson (when Erica was still married to Travis). Poor Bianca set 'Mommy' and 'Uncle Jack' dolls on fire. Members Tzelkos
I LOVED the Jamie/Julia scenes. Rarely do I enjoy Justin Breuning but I thought he was really good today. The guy will never win an emmy but I saw that likeablility in Jamie I saw when Justin started back in '03... when Jamie was fun and not such a lame-o. Zendall were awesome as always. As much as I dislike Babe (and Alexa Havins) she (and Jacob) had me totally enthralled. As for Ryan & Annie.....I think they have chemistry, I think they're cute...but ultimately Annie is useless and isolated. They need to have her involved in something else in additon to being Ryan's love interest. Maybe with her going to Wildwind that will happen, but probably not. She just needs more connections and purpose because at this rate I can see her a year from now being no more developped than she is now.
Members JER Soaps Fan
The moral of the story is he didn't lock the door, yet he clearly planned to do more than sleep with her.
Members JER Soaps Fan
Frankly? From my conservative viewpoint, I would say yes. After all, one so-called "committed relationship," on the surface," in Jamlia's case, could end at any second. Poor Kathy could have to see a revolving door of men in Julia's room by the time she's 12! I've heard horror stories from friends about all the women or men their divorced parents bedded. No, I don't think it's responsible without that "little piece of paper."
Members Pine Charles
Even if she did see them, she wouldn’t understand. Jamie could just say they were playing leapfrog.
Members Juliajms
I have to agree with you. Kathy barely knows these people. They aren't really her parents yet. There was really nothing wrong with the scene, except imagining her coming 10 mins later and seeing them going at it for real.
