Mike Roy was shot about 500 times and was cremated and scattered in Tibet by Erica. That didn't stop them from bringing him back. It never hurts to try. Could we at least get a month of Heaven scenes like Gillian did back in the Summer of 2002 when she died??? Seriously, how AWESOME would that be if Esta Terblanche came back and Dixie and Gillian hung out in Heaven for awhile with Jesse, Jeremy Hunter, Natalie!!!! I mean Kate Collins IS coming back in Feb. to play Janet - so it'd be the perfect time for her to play 'ghost Natalie' again too since she's here. I don't know about y'all - but I loved the Gillian in Heaven storyline that lasted for about a month when she died....and although she wasn't quite to the Dixie status - she was a beloved character that should have NEVER died the way she did. Members px780 Posted January 31, 2007 Members Share Posted January 31, 2007 I thought the acting and everything was good, but the background music...the silence they used for the oh-so-necessary Ryan/Annie scenes (which- props to the writers for having a key male character with a vasectomy and two kids showing up after the vasectomy, 'cause that's brilliance) would've really been nice, imho. And after something packed with THAT much emotional WALLUP, NO WAY am I going to want that beautiful death compromised! This was the end for Dixie. And I didn't know AMC did supernatural, even spiritual supernatural. (Remember, I'm a NEW diehard fan ) It's still kind of creepy though. I mean, sooner or later, people (especially in Pine Valley!) TALK. And then they'll say, "Father Clarence? He doesn't preside at my church...nor mine...mine, neither...me either!....just who IS this character?! What sick FREAK is talking to our children, parading around like a man of the collar? How does he KNOW US?! How does he know our names? Our children's names?! Dear GOD, HELP US ALL!!" And soon, very soon, Father Clarence would take the perp walk RIGHT to jail -- where he seems to belong! So he really does seem like the best candidate for Satin Slayer, even if he isn't. Members alwaysAMC Posted January 31, 2007 Author Members Share Posted January 31, 2007 Haha - ok Father Clarence is the 'angel' that brings a Christmas Miracle to Pine Valley every Christmas, since I think about 2003. It's like an AMC tradition (the Christmas Miracle). He isn't really considered supernatural - well at least not campy at all....anyway I think you'd better understand 'Father Clarence' if you'd see every year he was on. He first came on to talk to Bianca and Kendall mostly - then he moved on to JR - and then this year to Tad/Dixie (if I remember correctly). So Kendall and Bianca pretty much know about this 'angel' - and they didn't get a visit from him this year. At least ask the woman to take a pay cut before firing her, you know "we were expecting more out of your return in terms of ratings, because that didn't transform we're going to cut your paycheck *this much* because it's really taking up a lot of fixed costs for us without bringing in the expected profit/revenue. Are you okay with that?" Tad/Dixie were one of the only things on the show that were ripe to pick up ratings at this point, they just needed to give it the "love" they gave it today (well in terms of flashbacks and the park scene even). How on earth does it make sense to get rid of half of one of the almost guaranteed things that could help your ratings without even giving an offer? How? That's the thing I don't get. Why not let Dixie die for Kate? Protecting her or something. Why do it this way? I wasn't a Dixie fan, anymore, but I don't see why this had to be done...NOW. Members Angela Posted January 31, 2007 Members Share Posted January 31, 2007 Tad and Dixie going full steam ahead with romance and flashbacks, and all the ole school madly in love stuff, would have gotten nicer ratings than dead Dixie today or 3 months from now after a quick reunion. It does not compute in my brain that they would not even give her an offer. Give me a reason that makes sense? Budget and smaller cast does not make sense to me to not even offer an offer. I will admit if Dixie was still roaming alive today at the mansion I'd still be psuedo-snarky about her because of 2006 but that could have been repaired with the ongoing family/Tad stuff. Oh yeah today brought back my Dixie love, my T/D love but what is one day of that really going to afford the show in the long term? Nothing positive in my opinion. Are we sure this isn't a fake death and us being played (Cady does seem very sincere, but still)? I can almost smell that demon, James E. Reilly, consulting on the show, lol.
