This is the second time in the last few years that a soap has broken my heart. First, Days absolutely killed me when they killed off Jack and destroyed Jack and Jennifer. I gave up that show for good and cried a bucket of tears.

Now, my second all time favorite soap couple is Tad and Dixie. And just like Days, they killed off one half of the supercouple and fired the actor. Difference is that at least J&J were happy, married and planning a baby when Jack was killed. At least Jack and Jennifer fans got a little payoff but not for Tad and Dixie fans. No romantic reunion, no getting back with Kate, no joy - nothing but heartbreak for legions of fans.

AMC has virtually told all there Tad and Dixie fans to go to hell and become part of the Babe love or just leave period.

Well, this fan who has watched Tad and Dixie from the beginning is going to leave because if I see and hear one more person talking about Babe's goodness and how awful a person JR is I will scream!

I cried at the flashbacks and I am not even really a Dixie fan. I did love her with Tad though. I wish they had showed some from the NY reunion. Watching those all clips reminded me of how fun Tad's character used to be. Ever since the babyswitch he has been nothing but dark and morose. I don't know who he is anymore. There is no joy or fun in this show anymore. And of course Dixie's death became all about Babe. I was completely disgusted as is par for the course with this show and anything regarding this character. She taints every storyline and everyone she comes in contact with. She is just like a virus that can't be killed destroying all in her path.

I think I may watch the funeral but after that I need a break from this crap. Reading the spoilers has made my disgust for this show and its writing reach an all time high and I can't take it anymore. When a show requires the watcher to hit the ff button 95% of the time its basically a waste. I think February sweeps is going to be brutal for AMC. No one cares about the Satin Slayer, Bianca fans hell fans of the Kane women in general are beyond fed up, and Babe who most viewers despise is still everywhere. Just when I think it can't sink any lower it does.

Some people are saying all this could be a dream of Zach and Kendall's or maybe Kendall is still in that coma ;)

Father Clarence is an Angel of Death, UGH! Everytime he comes around someone dies. I'm more ticked that they killed off Kathy's adopted parents, what was the point of that if they were killing off Dixie????????

I guess the reason, I realized, why I enjoyed it (and don't understand the outrage), is that while soaps are about love and romance, they're also about tragedy and connecting fiction with real-life trials. The death of a loved one is a real life trial. And again, if Irna Phillips could kill the most popular character, without remorse, in a car crash, as I read she had (and she was the mother of soaps, remember), how is this, definitively, the death of the show? Because a person could say Megan's just pulling an "Irna." Don't get me wrong, I sympathize with Tixie fans; that's part of the grieving process. But to call for or "sense" the death of the show because of this, I think, is a bit premature.

I hope so -- for the character's sake. Dixie should not go from being half of one of the show's most popular couples, to being a running joke.

"Dixie's dead! Oops, no she's not! Okay, now she is -- Oops! Wrong again! Okay, NOW she's really -- sh!t, are ya kidding me?!"

Ok I just watched this episode yesterday and I was bawling! The flashbacks were great and I loved the flashbacks of when JR/Jamie were little kids. I am so bad that she is actually gone. I hope that Tad finds out that Kathy is Kate soon, I'm sure it would make this time easier for him if he found his little girl. On the topics of little girls I wonder if he will find out if Charlotte is his as well.

    • I don't, since they've clearly incorporated them into Tomas' storyline, and I happen to like his tattoos, but his jackets not fitting doesn't mean they're trying to cover his tattoos. The clothing overall isn't the issue; it's the fit. And I expect(ed) more from Jeresa Featherstone and her team. Very disappointed. He's the only male, overall, whose costume irritates me.
    • "And OMG, watching the scenes of Roger's return in comparison...the quality in the writing really nosedived. The stupid mask." Very much agreed.  Having Roger hide behind a mask for weeks/months, with it culminating with him swinging in on a vine at Blake/Phillip's wedding....geez.  So juvenile. IMO, Guiding Light never did a good job reintroducing major characters, either from the dead or elsewhere.  Masked balls = awful.  Amish = awful. When Reva was brought back from the dead, she should've just showed up in Springfield as Reva, and informed everyone that she had been gone for years because she felt like it.  She had a four-year fling with some dude who ended up dumping her due to disloyalty. Josh would be pissed and declare that their love is not *always* but *sometimes* and he'd act accordingly.  Her kids would hate her.
    • Agreed. The Emmys next year are gonna be a pretty tough competition and I hope we get a Days sweep lol  Not only does Deidre deserve a nomination for these last few weeks, but I also think Paul Telfer, Raven Bowens, Carson Boatman, Dan Feuerriegel and Alison Sweeney have good chances as well.
    • It’s not about a lack of faith and trust in MVJ, it’s about a a lack of faith and trust in Ron Carlivati, who I think can be very sneaky and manipulative when he wants to be.  And, all that “He’s just a breakdown writer” talk never changed my mind about anything, because at Days, it was “just a breakdown writer” that gave us some of the worst episodes I’ve ever seen.

    • I think they’re desperately trying to cover his awful tattoos. But anyway them being unable to style short kings properly has been a major pet peeve of mine for a while now.  I honestly don’t understand what some people expect from actors to even begin considering them for recognition. Let’s be real—awards mostly mean that an actor is respected by their peers and has some level of cultural relevance. Actual judgment on the acting itself? That’s often secondary—highly subjective and shaped by the times. I completely agree on both points. If you’re an actor or a dancer you shouldn’t get any tattoos (sorry not sorry). Tomas’ tattoos are ugly too. And regarding the couples- you’re completely right. These writers are unable to write romance.   Further comments: - Kat cannot be this dumb to keep tampering with evidence over and over again. And I’m officially not a fan of the actress—every time she’s in a scene with Leslie, she doesn’t seem intimidated at all. She plays it like comic relief, which is just too much, especially when paired with Leslie’s histrionics and over-the-top antics. Leslie is older, dangerous, and has literally been portrayed as homicidal—Kat should be at least a little scared. • I also didn’t like Kat playing damsel in distress with the hotel manager. It gave off the same weird energy as Dani with the cop. I would’ve much preferred the version Paul Raven suggested, with her sneaking in through housekeeping. • And yes, Dani again accused Hayley of faking the pregnancy—this time even specifying she might be using a pillow under her shirt. (No fake miscarriage being mentioned) I stand by my take: this is ridiculous writing. No one in the real world—except us, the chronically online soap watchers—would even think of such a conspiracy theory. Haley is no Beyoncé. • What in the world was Chelsea wearing in her hair the other day? And this whole thing with Madison is beyond cringe. Chelsea’s coming off as needy and toxic—basically like every other Dupree. • I’m glad the casino storyline is moving forward, but it’s still boring as hell. Honestly, I’d be so here for a plot twist where Vanessa and Doug take Joey out. • The direction and editing lately have been rough. Abrupt cuts, weird pacing… something just feels off overall. There’s a strange uneasiness to how it’s all coming together. • And finally: Tomas is too much of a saint. Where are the messy sluts when you need them? (Vanessa doesn’t count.)
