I was wondering when someone was going bring up the fact that Roman called John a DiMera. I'd like to think it was Roman's resentment of John. I've always loved these two at odds. Unfortunately, I think it was a mistake on the script writer's part.

How was it a mistake? B&C revealed in 2002 he was Tony's half brother and Daphne Dimera's son. Therefore he is technically Dimera even though he never thinks of himself as one. Am I missing something?

You're missing something pretty big, LOL. John is not Stefano's son! He is Daphne's son and Daphne is only a DiMera by name. John is NOT a DiMera. If anything he's an Alamain or whatever Daphne and Philomena (Lawrence's mother) last names were.

John is not a DiMera. He may have worked for the DiMeras, but I don't think that makes him family. It was a cheap lazy mistake by the writers.

Yeah but a name is a name and he is Tony's half brother and Daphne's son so I don't see it as a slip. I am well aware he isn't Stefano's and that he isn't a blood Dimera but still. I still remember him fearing that he was and learning he wasn't.

John worked for the Dimera's for years so he may as well be one. I see nothing long with the line but whatever.

It doesn't matter if YOU see nothing wrong with it. Some fans do, including me.

John is not a DiMera. He is not Stefano or any other DiMera's son. Carrie is Sami's half-sister. Is she considered an Evans?

Before Julie was married to Doug, would you consider her a Williams because Hope's her half-sister?

Is Roman a Kiriakis?

Is Belle a Brady?

Is Shawn a Roberts?

No. It was a mistake on the writers part.

Roman's calling John a DiMera was stunning. At first, I was thrown off but after considering that he was born to Daphene, maybe while she was married to Stefano, that would make him a DiMera. If that isn't true, then it was most like his considering his ties to the family. It would be interesting if he really is Stefano's son....the good one.

Of course it matters if I see nothing wrong with it Drew. Everyone's view matters :) .

I see your point but it depends on how you see it. It's all technicalities. In general terms, Roman calling him a Dimera could have been referring to Daphne as his mother or his time working under the Dimera's. Daphne was a Dimera in name so while John doesn't call himself one it is not exactly wrong for someone to call him one based on his past. That is all I meant.

Nonetheless, I don't want to debate dialogue  . There are plenty of other things to debate like why Willow is still on the show, why Days is still using those stupid SFX at the end, etc.

Willow is still on the show

Willow is still on the show because the writers obviously want her on there and have plans for her.

I think of Willow as a Rubic Cube....a puzzle that makes no sense (obviously it does, but I can't solve it) but it's so much fun trying. She's just there and you know there has to be a reason. I'm loving her youthful jargon and mannerisms although, I'm pretty shocked at how Shawn and Willow could act so sexual, hardly knowing each other.

A part of me thinks that Willow could be a part of a plan from Victor; I would not put it past him to keep Shawn distracted long enough to make sure that Philip is the primary father in Claire's life. Something tells me that there is far more about Willow than we know as of yet.

I absolutely love Tanya Boyd...

Today's episode was very good.

Even with that logic, Linn, Roman's (of Faux, as you adoringly call him) line made zero sense. I'm surprised you'd defend him. ;)

Not defending Ro, because he wasen't the first who said it (it was said a few days ago too).

It has absolutely nothing to do with who his mother or brother is. It has to do with Stefano practically raising him and forming him into what Stefano wanted him to be.

Good point. That plays into this as well.

I think Willow has to be working for either Victor or EJ. I think that's the reason she's on contract, to play whatever story this is out. I still find her fairly annoying, but her acting tics have cleared up somewhat and I respect the storyline she's involved in - Shawn being isolated from his family by EJ. I like the EJ arc a lot. I think Hogan's made great stuff from the crap he was handed.

I think the hints were heavy today about Lexie's fate, whatever that may be. I wonder again whether Tek is a DiMera operative and if he will be involved in what ultimately happens to her. He was pushing the SPD to take extreme steps to tackle EJ, no matter the legality, maybe he was trying to help them get caught stepping over the line. I do have a hard time believing that EJ, as a DiMera, would kill Lexie, no matter how much of a "traitor" she is, but then I kind of like the idea that EJ is far more cold and efficient and vicious than several of his predecessors.

A stray thought, also: If Kristen comes back, it will be very hard to reintegrate her into the show regularly after her history of all-out madness and villainy. I don't see them letting her keep that up constantly, that's why Stefano and Tony are off the show. I wonder if perhaps she might be slightly "redeemed" if we were to discover that she, say, has been imprisoned not by that sultan but by EJ for many years since, as punishment for what she did to his mother. But at the same time, I don't want EJ gone at the end of the Gloved Hand story. I think he has so much great potential as the new generation.
