GH: Luke & Laura Wedding Ratings

I feel fans of them knew it was a limited run for Laura and didn't bother to tune in.

I think the show is probably going to be happy. Any raise is a good one. I'm a GH viewer but I had fell out and got roped in with Laura's return (which is what they wanted, so it worked), but they have made it ALL to obvious that Laura is going back to comatose town, even from the beginning. That completely takes away from everything we have seen and it just shows that GH does NOT care about their viewers, particularly the ones that they were trying to get to watch this big wedding in the first place. Francis clearly said she wanted more but the show refused it. Why? They just wanted this stunt to work, you can't call it less than that because that is all it is, a stunt. Putting her back into looney ville is pointless and takes the point, a lot of it, out of this wedding as well.

I know I said that the show would most likely hit a 2.8 and a 2.9 maximum for the week. No way will they get anything above that

And I agree with you. I just don't think they will get any higher than that. The only way they might is if they had big stuff for Luke & Laura everyday but they haven't. And frankly so much of the rest of the show has been so bad.

A 25 percent increase in viewers?? That is nothing to sneeze at folks especially since a lot of people, including me, didn't watch because we knew it was a fronsie sham. I expect that same episode was full of murder and mayhem, and that the Luke and Laura wedding displayed marvelous acting in a grim storyline.

Regardless for GH, those are good numbers and for 2006 those are good numbers for most soaps. I'm sure Passions would have taken that many viewers for a day, or for that matter OLTL, AMC or DOOL.

It ain't great, but it's nothing to sneeze at, and considering the fact many of us knew it was a sham and gimmick it's surprisingly good.

GH's ratings have been up in November as compared to the rest of the year. The show will make money. Fronsie I'm sure is patting himself on the back for his November gimmick.

Why won't they bring Genie back fulltime?

Genie Francis said that she asked them to come back full time but they said they can't right now. She said she asked them and really wants it but the show is refusing.

Everyone knew there would be some increase in ratings -- one million was larger than expected, but how many will stay? ANd I doubt there was much spillover to the other two ABC soaps.

However, I suspect the outcome of this sweeps will be more budget cuts and the status quo.

Probably not to many. I am checking out when Laura leaves this week.

I highly doubt OLTL or AMC benefited from GH's higher numbers.

However, I suspect the outcome of this sweeps will be more budget cuts and the status quo.

Well, for AMC and OLTL. I think GH is safe for the moment.
