I don't find the Carmen-murder storyline to be the best in the world, but I don't find it that bad either. I love the people who are involved in it, and enjoy it because of that. I love the Winters family and seeing them at the heart of the story and how it affects them as a unit is what I like. The writing is not what it was, and you notice that I said she needs to stop and start paying attention to stepping the writing back up. But I still hold the overall quality has not gone down - just the writing is a little off right now.

Not ever writer is going to bat 100 with every storyline. Hogan was great at ATWT but he had just as many bad storylines as he did good ones. The same can be said about Jack Smith, Kay Alden, and even William J. Bell at times. There were alot of stories that he did that were not successful.

I am really excited about the Kay story coming up and that and the Carmen story are enough to make the show still good to me.

I'm not worried about Y&R at all.

It's been number one for over ten years so...unless I hear that AMC's Megan McTavish

has been named the new head writer...I'm not gonna sweat it.

Well, McTrash has ruined AMC, I don't watch CBS soaps but Y&R may be getting AMC's big loss Vincent Irizarry: http://p206.ezboard.com/fbabeandbiancafanf...picID=830.topic

that will pull a lot of EX-AMC viewers over to Y&R. I have read all over the net how all of AMC's fans are jumping ship with the loss of him and Julia Barr.

Y&R is not in any trouble, the ratings have been great. I really don't think the show is nearly as bad as some think. I'm loving the new vision, although I'll admit there are a few problems here and there.

As for Carmen's story turning off viewers, I'm not sure, because this has been sparking a ratings increase. The episode where Carmen was revealed dead the show got over 6 million viewers. Last weeks ratings were an increase of 750,000 viewers from last year. Latham must be doing something right to a LOT of people because you don't get those kind of gains for nothing. Especially considering the record lows many are hitting.

I hope that with the new year Latham can improve on the things that aren't working and continue to do well at Y&R. I'm most worried about the exit of Eileen Davidson. I hope that she recasts and revamps the Abbotts.

I'm an ex-AMC viewer and I jumped ship back in May. I'm THRILLED that VI is coming to Y&R! I just think it's totally a better show than anything AMC has had since they brought on the Zach and Babe show at AMC.

ur right i think i put my foot in my mouth ashely leaving really had me upset yesterday but after watching the last few eppys Y&R is the best thing on tv right now no one is doing it better( Days is getting there fast though) I love everything about Y&&R right now

While I agree I can see Y&R taking a hit from this...I still am enjoying the show alot and I think it is still WAY better written than most of the other soaps on the air.

I really hope the VI news is true. That would be such a boost to Y&R, imo. I won't believe it until Y&R announces though. Remember there was a rumor that VI was going back to GL too.

I am sorry, but Kay Alden and Jack Smith could not write there way out of a hole in the ground, LML is making the show so much better, the only thing I don't like right now is the reliquary story, but every soap has at least one thing a watcher is not going to like. Furthermore, Cassie was not killed under LML, that was JackAss Smith and Kay Alden, The stupid Shelia storyline was Kay Alden and Jack Smith,(they totally killed Sheila with that storyline) I could go on at how Alden and Smith killed the show. The ratings say everything before LML took over we were almost going into the 3's but LML has brought us back up to a 4.4 most weeks, and almost higher if not for one low day during each week we would be 4.5 or 4.6 everyweek.

Very true indeed killing off kassie was very dumb and there were some weeks Y&R dipped down to 3.9 now since LML has taken over Y&R has not gotten below a 4.2 i think but then again she is still new we will see how 07 plays out but all in all i love Y&R right now the art story is a bit far fetched and new old lily drives me nuts but it is all gud to me.

I know I'm in the minority here, but I loved Jack Smith. He gave the actors GREAT material with Cassie's death and I really enjoyed the Sheila storyline. I haven't really enjoyed much of ANYTHING that LML has done.

LML really hooked me at the beginning and finaly made Y&R watchable for me. But the fallouts of things SUCKED. Brad's secret. Victor's condition. Set up was so good. Fall out. YIIIIIIIIIIIKES.
