Some of you posters make me sick. You have no respect for an actress who put her heart and soul into a character only for it to be WRITTEN APPAULINGLY and BUTCHERED once she returned to Y&R> you ought to be ashamed.

Awww I really hope that you're not referring to me because you KNOW how much I love Kimberlin Brown and how much I want her to return. But I AM happy that we'll be seeing Sheila in SOME form...even if it will most likely suck.

What??? I haven't seen anyone bash Kimberlin. Everyone is entitled to their opinion just like you are. We can not like Sheila but still like Kimberlin.

Oh please nobody is bashing Kimberlin, we're just tired of Sheila. Besides I've heard the term sperm pig being thrown around for Ashley Abbott for years now, and that doesn't discredit Eileen Davidson for being a terrific actress. I've always liked her understated work on Y&R, than her over the topness of DAYS.

Did you drop your specs? Check out the first posts... sick!
Damn right, I hate the bitc*. Proud Sheila Hater B)

William Bell already did the story with Marge/Kay, so a look-a-like thing isn't too far fetched, even for Y&R standards. And from what I was reading in the summer of 1988 about Brad being locked in a cage, I wouldn't say this is the most outrageous thing to happen either.

Yes. But just because Bell did something "outlandish," it doesn't really give LML the excuse to fu*k up whatever she pleases. And atleast with Mr. Bell it made sense, and Y&R was always a traditional soap, with a few exceptions.

In this case, I also think it makes sense. Something I strongly disagree with though, is that Y&R is a traditional soap. It looks that way compared to the others, but only because it has maintained it's vision for all these years. From the moment the show was created it was innovative. To explain, I'll show a quote from my Soap Opera History book.

Originally titled The Innocent Years in it's planning stages, The Young and the Restless would rival the pioneering accomplishments of General Hospital. Days of Our Lives headwriter, William J. Bell, created The Young and the Restless in a three-week span when he decided to launch his own daytime drama. With the assistance of his wife, Lee Phillip Bell, he sought to create what he called a "broad base of wholesome, identifiable young people in situations that reflected a segment of contemporary life." In less than a year, critics were hailing it as the most sophisticated soap opera on the air.

Y&R has been taking risks since day one, this is nothing new for the show. I think there is a lot more wiggly room than given credit for.

BTW, reading this book I'm just dying at how good these old stories sound. I'd *love* for SOAPnet to just pick up old Y&R from the beginning.

I've always been a Kimberlin Brown fan, however, I was extremely disappointed at how they brought her back on. The story was getting good, but somewhere it lost some steam. I think it was all the personas she had; Jennifer/Brenda that got me lost a little.

For me, it would have been more interesting to have seen more focus on Scotty/Brenda and the publishing of the book. It would have been good to have seen Sheila getting her "story" published for all of Genoa City; including Lauren to see. It would have added a sort of rift between Lauren and Scotty.
