Did anyone watch this show tonight? I didn't know if it would be worth it or not but decided to give it a look and quickly fell in love with it. It was so much fun. I totally agee with the one the judges let go tonight even though I truly loved him and wanted to see more. If you saw it, then you, hopefully, were treated to a fun evening. Here are my views.

The best of two performances was Jai Rodriquez followed by Hal Sparks and Alfonso Ribeiro. The most outstanding performance of the evening that took the show completely out of the auditorium was Smokey Robinson and Lucy Lawless. My goodness what chemistry. It was the sexiest, steamiest performance I've seen in quite a while. Worth the whole two hours.

The judges will take a little getting used to for me. I loved Marie Osmond as she was professional and gave really good advice. As much as I love Little Richard, I was like David Foster who kept saying he knew absolutly nothing of what he was saying LOL, but loved him anyway. David Foster was last and didn't have time enough to really say much at all and that is a shame as he probably could have said some worthwhile things to each contestant.

My favorite performance tonight was Carly Patterson's. Not that she has the best voice but she was definitely at ease, enjoying herself and sparkling. I thought most of them were uptight tonight and that was a distraction. My favorite was Jai, of course. He is clearly the best in my judgement. Hal and Alfonso were really good. I love Cheech and think he was better this week, too. Lucy is gorgeous but she was too controlled tonight. I have no idea who will be voted off. I'd not vote for Lea so guess that is probably the answer to who I think should go.

I tuned in for some of it last night while putting away laundry. I did see Jai's performance and he held his own with Brian. I was very impressed.

Carly was cute and seemed to be having fun. Lucy did a good job too.

The show is a lot more fun than AI.

Even though I said I would not vote for Lea, I had no idea that a lot of others must have been in the same frame of mind. I felt sad for her tonight and her daughters, especially, but clearly she wouldn't be around much longer anyway. Cheech fans surprised me, too. I'm thrilled for Carly.

I think Wynona is in love heehee. She and Hal are HOT. Lucy can really shake it. What a dress and what moves.

    • Uh, yeah, huh?!!! Seriously, that was a brilliant line but its acumen is strictly from how hilarious. We imagine Joss in Carly's kitchen breaking the news that she's realized she's gay & Carly is unconcerned & then drops that it's Emma she's in love with ... time comes to a screeching halt!!! I think Moss would likely be thrown hard against the wall. Can you imagine Carly & Robin as mothers of the brides together?
    • @DRW50 Thanks for these. I had a procedure on my eyes and was just okayed for limited screen time the other day, but it is in short periods until Tuesday, when the doctor clears me.  I'll be adding in bits here and there, but Hoppers will be "hopping" after that. Upcoming: Rest in Peace, Denise Alexander, Ruth Buzzi and Priscilla Pointer Updating:   Max Gail, @Xanthe -- Will Lyman, who was lost in the shuffle a year ago, but his update from last year will be typed up;  New: Michelle Hurd and Shanola Hampton and others I'll b updating the edit-able profiles, too.

The shoulders and sleeves are too tight. He'd benefit from a larger size. The yellow arrows show where the shoulder cut should actually be placed in my opinion. I don't mind the granpa fashion per se, I just have an OCD with sizes LOL
    • Today May 11, 2025, Pope Leo briefly addressed the crowd in the square.  He sang the prayer to Mary and then said:   Dear brothers and sisters, The immense tragedy of the Second World War ended eighty years ago, on 8 May, after having claimed sixty million victims. In today’s dramatic scenario of a piecemeal third world war, as Pope Francis stated many times, I too address the world’s leaders, repeating the ever-timely appeal: “Never again war!”. I carry in my heart the sufferings of the beloved Ukrainian people. May everything possible be done to reach an authentic, just and lasting peace, as soon as possible. Let all the prisoners be freed and the children return to their own families. I am deeply saddened by what is happening in the Gaza Strip: may there be an immediate ceasefire! Let humanitarian aid be provided to the stricken civil population, and let all the hostages be freed. On the other hand, I have welcomed with satisfaction the announcement of the ceasefire between India and Pakistan, and I hope that through the upcoming negotiations, a lasting accord may be reached soon. https://www.vatican.va/content/leo-xiv/en/angelus/2025/documents/20250511-regina-caeli.html
    • Lol! I'm quite sure it would.
    • But that is pretty much situation normal for all soaps. They do not tend to continue to show things like surgical scars. They also play fast & loose with hospital procedures.
    • re: prior two posts about Trump's new opulent plane contrasted with utter starvation in Gaza... Trump and Netanyahu are giving "Let them eat cake".  And it's horrific. In 2013, Pope Francis removed a bishop from running the Limburg Germany diocese because he was constructing an opulent 31-million-euro building. This is from Reuters obit of Francis: https://www.reuters.com/world/obituary-pope-francis-shook-up-church-with-simplicity-raising-conservative-ire-2025-04-21/ From the start, Francis sent clear signals to priests and bishops about the type of Church he wanted. He said there was no room for "careerists or social climbers" among the clergy, told cardinals they should not live "like princes," and said the Church should not "dissect theology" in lush salons while there were poor people around the corner. "If investments in banks fall, it is a tragedy and people say 'what are we going to do?' but if people die of hunger, have nothing to eat or suffer from poor health, that's nothing. This is our crisis today. A Church that is poor and for the poor has to fight this mentality," he said early in his papacy. -- Pope Francis stood up for the poor, the unhoused, the migrants of all faiths.  He lived simply and ordered that when he died, that he wished to be interred in a simple wooden coffin. I sincerely hope that the new pope Leo will follow Francis' example.
