  1. Yes, that upbeat, electric guitar-synth version came after this smooth jazz version. Personally, I loved the smooth jazz version but I tend to enjoy slow, sexy takes on classic themes (Knots season 8, AW Summer and Desire). SOD praised GL for bringing back a more upbeat version, but it totally sucked, imo. The original HOTL was perfect, it didn't need to be changed to begin with.
  2. I loved the first Central Park West promo I ever saw. It was simply the cast preening for the camera while that great old song "Sleepwalk" played.
  3. Biracial Lucy is my default type, but I developed such a crush on Caitlin (no pedo), wow. After watching the original series, I had such a newfound appreciation for all of the crushing and gushing Kevin Smith does in the TNG episodes which is based on his real-life love of the series and Caitlin. I wouldn't say that it's necessary for you to dip all the way back to The Kids of Degrassi Street. I probably won't watch that again until I have children of my own, but you're a teacher and if I was teaching elementary-aged kids, I would totally work it into the curriculum. But you must watch Degrassi Junior and Senor high just to fortify your appreciation for the franchise. We own the series on Roku and I would totally watch it again but I should get caught up on these new episodes first.
  4. No offense if it's somebody's loved one's name, but I just do not like the name "Manny". It makes me think of Mayonaisse (which makes me nauseous) and totally takes me out of the story.
  5. Which one was which? Who was the Greek one with curly hair? Not gonna lie. I loved Marco's final spot in the opening credits when he turned around and put on the hoodie. I wish that was me in some opening credits.
  6. No and I wish I did! Someone edited out all of the Susan parts and just left the Joan portion except for a funny little bit at the end. I don't know if it's still on YouTube or not. That and the Bloopers and Practical Jokes episode are the two vintage Susan clips I really want to see.
  7. Oh God I gotta get out of here I'm skimming but totally spoiling myself, I don't wanna know who died...
  8. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YIm85Ql8aHQ
  9. Coincidentally, I just uploaded a 2002 episode of AMC featuring Trey to YouTube.
  10. I've never used a Clairisonic, but yeah, one look at it and how it works, you can tell it's much better than the YE or Proactiv scrub brushes. My girlfriend bought me YE as kind of a joke (I wasn't complaining) and unfortunately, it flared up my dermatitis. I lost the cream (which she gave me [!@#$%^&*] for) but it would have been better (imo) for like your knees and elbows, whole body I guess, if you wanted to look scrubbed and fresh before heading to the beach. Joan Collins also did Scoundrel ads. Hey ellabelle, or anyone, have you ever seen the full, uncut 20/20 interview of Susan and Joan?
  11. Can you imagine all the women coming to her fan events back then just doused in Susan's perfumes hoping she would notice? The room stifling with the dense fog of Invitation hanging in the air...
  12. Do you all remember this?: http://images-p.qvc.com/is/image/a/59/a51759.001?$uslarge$ Had kind of a bootleg Donna Karan look to it.
  13. No, but I thought the bottle looked cheap.
  14. Carmen Duncan loves to put her hand on that hip. I wasn't a regular ATWT viewer, but I can only imagine what fans had to say about that little J.J.
  15. I just came across some CPW on an old tape. I will check the credits and get back to you.
  16. Wasn't that two perfumes in one, a day and a night fragrance, two separate vials swirled together as one bottle?
  17. I agree, that's an awesome article. At that age, if it wasn't in TV Guide or Jet, I really didn't see such in-depth magazine coverage of my favorite shows. The part about Debbie making them do a morning warm-up made me smile. We had to do that in acting school and we equally loathed and appreciated it. As I mentioned this morning, I was watching the show today. It's interesting seeing Jenifer Lewis as Dean Dorothy Dandridge Davenport knowing now what I didn't know then. Post-ADN, Executive Producer Susan Fales-Hill and Whoopi Goldberg (who appears in the infamous HIV/AIDS episode with Tisha Campbell) pitched a sitcom about a fading, famous, black diva. They picked Jenifer Lewis as the perfect person to play her. Susan and Whoopi sat on the conference call with the assorted white PTB in disbelief as they just couldn't wrap their brains around the concept of a black diva ("When we think 'diva', we think of someone like Bette Midler" [who Jenifer sang back-up for, no less]). Whoopi and Susan tried to familiarize them with this concept, women they grew up admiring and in some cases knew personally, like Susan's mother, Josephine Premice (who plays a couple of roles on ADW). The conference call was a bust, Susan and Whoopi hung up dumbfounded and disappointed. At least the germ of Susan and Whoopi's sitcom idea sort of split/morphed/found its way into two new projects, Jackie's Back and Whoopi!
  18. Yes, he was always referring to his off-screen wife Velma, who eventually appeared on the show (played by Bebe Drake). I'm watching him on ADW right now (TV One).
  19. Oh no! Not Mr. Gaines with his *sweet* self. One of my favorite sight gags was when he put on the wig to look younger so he could help adopt someone. He played Old Mister in the Broadway musical version of A Color Purple. I bet he was great in that.
  20. She really looks Munchkin here.
  21. I was flipping channels tonight and saw what looked like a marathon but the synopses said they were all old episodes, like season 4.
  22. I know, right? We were so obsessed that we bought the episodes of The Kids of Degrassi Street when they were elementary schoolers and the actors who played Caitlin and Wheels were playing different characters by different names. It was totally an elementary school "learning" series. I wonder what Lucy is up to these day...
  23. So is a new season about to start, or has one already started? I'll just jump in like it's double dutch and work my way backwards if need be. Have you watched the orginal series with Caitlin, Joey, Spike, Snake, and them? I swear, that show made me wish I grew up in Canada with him. It's hard to explain, but it was just so very endearing.
  24. I'm no AM stan, but I kinda wanna peel this outfit off of her and do dirty thangs.
