  1. LMFAO, those Brits were so not ready. I didn't watch the series but I did watch the "David's dead" disaster and was in stitches. What made it so hilarious was that she thought Tiffany would be so upset over Bowie's passing.
  2. I've been meaning to write the gentleman who runs Erika Slezak's fan club/newsletter. He does such great interviews with her. I'd love to hear her thoughts about working opposite her various Dorians over the years.
  3. Thank you so much for this astute and fabulous rundown. It's absolutely criminal that so much of these ladies' work is lost. Very grateful for your memories. Strasser has strong feelings about Dorian shedding tears. Do you remember Pinkerton, Malis, or Carter showing such vulnerability?
  4. Yes, and iirc, when Powell came to town, Viki asked how his dad was doing, referring to him as her "California cousin" (how The Colbys). I really wish I could've seen Joan Copeland (Arthur Miller's sister) as aunt Gwendolyn. @vetsoapfan Please share your memories and impressions of Dorian from Pinkerton, Malis, Strasser. I used to ask my mother questions and Malis was surprisingly void from her memory. And my mom was a hardcore viewer. She did say that Dorian always presented as dark, dowdy under Pinkerton and the glam came with Strasser. I would later read in an interview that that change was Strasser's doing when she took the part and offered her opinions of the character. I think Strasser saw all the fun Looch was having playing a role she essentially created on AW and as she has said, made Dorian an older, richer version of her Rachel.
  5. Barcroft's episodes filling in for Erika Slezak as Viki must still be in existence. To my knowledge, they've never turned up on YouTube. Any mention of Ann makes me think of those pics of Gwyn Gilliss looking so utterly troubled in those photos in the AMC scrapbook.
  6. Looking back, I really like the way the writers linked Dorian and Marty's stories. When Dorian got out of prison and made her splashy return at the club on "Independence Day" (as she cooed), she returned to her penthouse and mused how she (a claustrophobic, remember) now felt the need for more space. They could've easily just given Dorian a house, but having Kiki sell the house up from under Marty and having Joey, looking for summer work, get hired by Dorian to help with renovations, i.e., be seduced... it was all so delicious and woven so well. Btw, Dorian in blue and Viki in red looked fabulous in those 4th scenes. The show did a great photo set of them in their gowns.
  7. Yes, bougie Francophile Dorian dubbed the old Saybrooke mansion La Boulaie (literally birch grove, I seem to remember Dorian saying garden). Dorian also gave the address as 202 Lincoln Terrace. There was a funny moment when Dorian had a plaque put up with a false date of the house's construction as though it were an historic residence. Viki had a line like, "Dorian, this house was built in 1952!" Asa's mansion was called Moorcliff. When he married Alex, the house was rechristened, Alexandria. Llan- (land) is a Welsh prefix. Agnes Nixon said there were Llan- names near her home in Pennsylvania where she set OLTL.
  8. OMG I wanna go back and watch alllll of this petty mess. Thank you @Cheap this is petty sad fodder
  9. Zack or Slater? Actually Screech was just in Maryland a couple towns over doing his comedy act. I was tempted to go and yet totally put off at the same time.
  10. Looks like one of the captions you see under litigants' names on Judge Judy
  11. Can someone link me to the best and most affordable options for buying the complete series of Dallas and Knots?
  12. I swear, every pic she posts on IG makes me light up and I feel the grin grow across my face. I wish more soap legends had IG pages.
  13. Sam Clegg numero uno Are they using Monica that much these days to justify a recast? I agree with Carl that temp recasts can be fun. But I can't help but be reminded of how it upset Eileen Fulton that she had so little airtime to begin with yet they'd go to the length of temporarily recasting her when she fell ill.
  14. She looked like Rachel but she had surgery to look *just like* Rachel. I remember Justine having these solo monologue scenes where she was in bandages.
  15. Yes, you are correct. I also remember that Justine had telltale scars on her wrists from attempted suicide.
  16. Oh that's interesting. We've discussed it before, but the leap from Kristen to Felicity was quite a big one, so physically different.
  17. Anyone remember the movie Speed Zone? Lol I watched it a million times in the 6th grade. That's where my great memories of Melody Anderson lie, she and Shari Belafonte burning down the road in their high tech Ferrari. As said, a lovely actress, just not Natalie. She could have been a great Laurel. My mom had a little TV on her desk at work and she said she was moved to tears when Melody's Natalie saw the angel at the top of the tree. That was probably the highlight of Melody's tenure on the show.
  18. I think the actress (lightskinned, braids) who replaced her as Simone did a lovely job with the part, she's actually the Simone I saw and remember the most from watching in high school. Then again, I'm guessing she was given stronger material, the divorce, dealing with young Tommy. My memory of SQ's Angie is of a rather generic, "safe" performance. A tough situation, I'd love to hear what she thought about her days with AMC. She didn't strike the chords we were used to with Angie. Debbi's voice and face are so distinctive, it's hard to buy Angie in anyone less than a clone, which as history has shown us on soaps, rarely works either. I loved SQ on Hanging with Mr. Cooper though, she emerged vividly, there was no shadow of Dawnn Lewis cast over her in my view.
  19. What did I miss, there are two Jeffs? This question comes per a picture Nicolette posted on IG.
  20. Dynasty is not an 8 o'clock show and shame on the universe for making me choose between it and Master Chef Junior.
  21. My precious 1/1:30am episodes are gone.
  22. Giving her the whole house gives Alexis too much power, imo, but hey, I guess you can't tell the exact same story twice. :/ Having Alexis just be deeded the studio, she was more of an interloper, a spider slowly weaving her web. Nicolette presents as post Cecil even. Audiences have no patience these days and if they want to ride off of the nostalgia quotient or anything a twentysomething would know about Dynasty, they've got to skip to magazine cover Joan Collins ColbyCo era Alexis.
  23. To answer my own question, it was Tom which is too bad because Bill Smitrovich was the strongest actor on the show.
  24. Darn, how long ago did Niles appear? Knew him from acting school.
