I was a huge fan of the mini-series when it first came out. Loved Sho-Gun, Thorn Birds, Bare Essence and even North & South.

Currently I cannot stand Judith Chapman either here as Diana or on Y&R as Gloria. Both characters are way way ott without any nuance at all. Genie wouldn't be caught dead in this role, today I mean. Her whole point on DAYS is to prop Leo Stark. It hasn't worked so far & I don't see it working in the future, either. Previously I did not judge Judith Chapman negatively at all. I realize it's not her doing. It's the writing. But either way it stinks to high heaven.

So, I looked up "George Hazard", Ron's being clever. For me, though, it would have resonated with me if he'd used a reference from CHARMED, not reaching all the way back to the mini-series NORTH AND SOUTH. Although, it's true, CHARMED also was a long time ago.

Yes, I thought KA's time on the show was too brief. I truly do not understand why they didn't have her there for the ceremony. What was that about? Of course, I sincerely thought they should've had Peter Reckell there as well. I also was glad that Hope put D3 on notice. Julie has been nothing but accepting, so for someone to warn him was a needed thing. Also, I was so pleased that Julie took up for Steven! Such a nice thing that she took his words to heart. Also that she trusts him. I haven't even been thinking of them in those terms. Ugh. I just don't see it. To me, Stefan is no impediment. He is outta there, not expecting to see him return, at least not any time soon. The way looks clear to me for JJ & Gabi. They even seem to suit one another. Does the ISA do that kind of thing? And, if they do, what would be their motivation for doing so? The current situation with Chad & Abby's lost remains?

I don't think we absolutely know that he is who he says he is, yet, but it certainly appears that is what they're going with, his actually being D3. That's my take on it, anyway.

The whole scene with Lucky & Liz current, then, seamlessly seguing into the Young L&L2 flashback & then repeating that action, going from the past back to the present. It was quite lovely, great direction & also editing. Very good work for Liz & Lucky today. Speaking of good work between a guy & a gal on GH, I'm not sure better could be found than Ric & Ava. For anyone who is hopeful that will become a ship Toni with the Tea from twi/X has come up with the most elegant ship name: Avarice which, of course, means greed.

Now you've hit on what I find missing from these lovely threads! Those egregious things the ones we love to hate have done! Y&R had Latham's shock & awe. So many soaps had JFP's inserting herself into the writing plus firing people like mad & then spending all the money she meant to save. I could go on but I won't.

Of course, that's another possibility.

I watched the new Daily Drama podcast with Steve & Bradford & their guest was Laura Wright. Steve mentioned that they'd shot 13 scenes in one hour. I couldn't believe it!!!! He said that Gary was pleased. I suppose that's Gary Tomlin, Director. Can you even imagine?! He also said he thinks Jason would have told Carly about Willow & Drew. That prompted us to discuss just how many things there are that she doesn't know about. That it was Brennan who disappeared her FBI audio file, that Anna kissed Jason, about Willow & Drew ... I think there's more.

However, who does she respect? It's a dilemma. I may have to join the slap brigade.

Just thinking, if almost dying & having emergency surgery & being in ICU & losing a baby that was basically full term, so you'd been pregnant with it that long & your big sister dying & having a break up with your girlfriend who then leaves town, when you thought you'd finally found true love ... if the label for this is being coddled by the show & the fictional characters, right, no one would ever want to attract any attention to their character. Now that would be a good thread! I could definitely vote for Gwen being cheated on by her husband Dimitri with her supposed bestie Leo & then nominate RSW's Alex for being the straight male fantasy figure in the supposed WLW story of Challie. DAYS has had all this diversity but the writing!

Also only fair! Isn't it the truth?! My contempt for Gwen had to take a backseat because she was so mistreated.
