  1. TBH, from my experience a lot of people are seeking to get out of it because they are tired of the freelance grind and wants something more stable. Once he gets embroiled in the Martin scandal, that could be a set up to get him to do something else. To be honest, the only one's that's halfway interested in me in the Andre / Ashley / Derek trio is Derek (limited acting abilities and all) and Hayley having a conversation at the end of the week. Not that I want them to be bumping uglies any time soon, but I think the angle of Hayley and Derek getting to be unlikely friends is an interesting angle since it could cause some minor tension and sort of be believable since he's far away enough from the Hayley / Naomi drama that you could see it happening. And Hayley kind of needs someone to vent to that's not in Bill or Dani's sphere. But yeah, I'm not feeling Andre and Ashley (again, why?!) or Andre and Dani. With the latter I hope it leads to Nicole absolutely ripping into Dani because it's just gross. As I understand it, he was taken in by Nicole and Ted, so Dani should've known him as a teen (?) and would've been "aunt Dani".
  2. What's funny about this is that most journalists I know work freelance these days - very few publications can afford to have a full time staff, so it technically is the perfect "job" for him since the kids would be in school most of the day. So I don't really see the issue, but I guess he's meant to be an investigative reporter type? I think they plucked a bunch of typical soap opera professions, but you're right. I don't think they thought much how it all would intersect with each other. I feel like Andre being a photographer / documentarian has an extremely limited angle when this silly hospital story is done. I think it's great that they have so many sets, but I'm not sure they thought everything through. I wouldn't be surprised if we suddenly see characters make "surprising" career choices in the coming year.
  3. SAY YES YES
  4. https://passions.fandom.com/wiki/Beth_Crane Why does Passions have its own Fandom.
  5. I feel like Shanice is either someone who is going home to her completely normal husband and three children to bitch about her day OR she's going to turn out to be a complete psycho.
  6. I'll always love those cheesy-ass scenes that soaps do to set up a murder. Never change.
  7. BTG is still settling in total viewers so hopefully we'll see some pluses there come May sweeps at least, but seems to be doing okay in the W25-54 demo.
  8. Andrew sure has glorious tits and nips in those tight shirts.
  9. Oh, yes please.
  10. With Days and Y&R being both at Sony they might've reached an agreement to have Billy wrap up Chad's storylines I guess?
  11. Maybe Rafe will finally get a child via Sami, who I'm sure isn't menopausal or anything.
  12. Hey now, he did have another mother figure growing up.
  13. Realistically, live ratings are going to keep ticking downwards for all shows in the coming years as more people switch towards streaming / delayed viewing. It'll likely be more of a question what shows can keep their live audience and which shows can start building an audience beyond those that just "switch" on streaming. Either way, the show is doing well. We haven't really seen a huge drop-off like with other soap launches (likely because live numbers aren't what they used to be). And as others have pointed out, it looks like the launch helped the overall line up perform better, which will be in the plus column. Either way, I'd worry more about shows like GMA3 than the remaining soaps at the moment as they keep having backstage turmoil.
  14. I'd say it'd be better to just write him off than attempt to recast - he simply doesn't have enough connections on the canvas to make a recast worth it. I say have him get caught in the crossfire of Naomi suing the office and causing more conflict with the cousins.
  15. Oh one day you will love me.
  16. Going by what I know of Aaron Spelling shows, at least there it seemed like they typically put OG cast members on five season contracts and people who joined after that for two season contracts. Not sure how Lorimar handled it, but it wouldn't surprise me if Donna was signed to a shorter contract to start with and her character becoming popular might've given her a leverage in negotiations. But again, no one on Knots really seemed to have the same power Larry Hagman had on Dallas.
  17. Yeah, I agree with this. He's okay so far, certainly not the first I'd be thinking of replacing. But outside the core four, the only ones I'd feel upset at them replacing would be Silkpress, Kat, Eva and Vanessa (in that order). They're the onces who've been excelling imho. I feel "meh" about the Ted recast, plus it there might be more stuff coming up that makes it more obvious why they replaced him. I do think they have a general issue with the storytelling at times where they decide to tell rather than show. Same thing with Ashley and how they had every character remind us how nice and what a dedicated nurse she is. In general, I do think they've had a lot of clunky dialogue tbh and that's definitively something they should work on as I feel it sort of makes some of the greener actors worse since they can't really sell some of it.
  18. The only ones I could see potentially raking it in are Michele Lee, Ted Schackelford, Joan Van Ark and Donna Mills. With that said, I don't think there was ever a Larry Hagman or Patrick Duffy on Knots where the pay disparity would be huge between them and other cast members, but I might be wrong.
  19. No wonder Leslie's poor considering the amount of money she spends on wigs alone.
  20. Oh that's lovely to see them still being friendly to each other. I know Kim was always disappointed in being let go from the show.
  21. It's grown on me a lot. It's not the among the greatest themes where I'd be gutted if they changed it, but I do like it now.
  22. Hey now, don't diss those doing it for the food stamps and pocket-change! I feel like this is very rude. Totally reported if I could bother.
