  1. Well I took his word for gospel but wondered why no one spoke out against him. Hey, he might be an assh*le but he is a talented assh*le.
  2. Well see I didn't know all this history prior to posting here years ago. I read the book beforehand.
  3. True (re: Lemay). But I do find his book, Eight Years in Another World, to be one of the most insightful autobiographies I've read. It's become one of my favorite reads too, as I stay rereading it constantly (along with Bill Bell's biography).
  4. OMG. All this tea y'all be spilling about my faves whether it be Marland or Lemay, saddens me. While they did marvelous things to the shows they were part of, they seriously flopped in other areas (i.e. the importance of certain actors/characters to the show).
  5. It was funny as hell. The one time that Tyler Perry's repetitive lines came off as hilarious.
  6. Yeah I think I remember reading an interview of her declaring that she wanted to raise her kids, which is understandable. I do miss her presence in daytime now. I truly think she is one of the few writers that could fix any 4 of the shows if given full control.
  7. Does anyone else think that Dems need to start getting ruthless with the GOP? Apparently, it works for them.
  8. Sorry but I have no respect for Karen Handel. She's a crook and a damn bigot. I like and respect your opinions, but she is trash. If she were a man, I'd the saying the same thing. Her gender has nothing to do with my "comment."
  9. I am at this point in my life. But those people can keep voting stupidly and against their own self-interest b/c they are not hurting us minorities at all. We (African Americans) have always been without since we were brought over here in slave ships. We'll always rise above during strife as it is instilled in us. We know how to make due with little or nothing. That won't change that. However, I am gonna sit here and smile gleefully when all these poor, White people who vote stupidly really start to suffer. Especially, when Trump/Pence cuts off food stamps, welfare, SSI, healthcare... Sometimes you gotta hit rock bottom to get a rude awakening. Maybe that time is now for them. Oh well...
  10. Back to the drawing board again for Dems. The people in the 6th are f-cking stupid. Ossoff was the perfect candidate. At this point, I am just like screw it all. Let this sh-thole of a country plummet to the pits.
  11. She's not winning by much though and only 6% of the votes are in. They are saying those were early ballots. Voting stations in Dekalb have been extended, so fingers crossed people will go out and vote. That's one of the section where he'll get his strongest support.
  12. @Chris B, I think once the 2 new girls are thrown into the mix of Dallas, it'll pan out to be a better season. I am hoping that this show does like Miami did the second season and had a stellar season. Sadly, Andy screwed Miami up going into the 3rd season, but I digress... Oh and I enjoyed Lydia getting ShanLoon together. I hope this occurs all damn season.
  13. Aww! Look at my girl! So proud of her!
  14. She's trash like her momma. It's to be expected. Good thing is that RHOA fans whether they like or hate Kenya tore her mentions up and told her to stay in a child's place. She cut her comments section off on IG shortly afterwards.
  15. I think they all would just rather bask at her misfortune if anything; however, Karen is the type she won't allow them to see her sweat too much.
  16. What boggles my mind is what leg does any of these women have to stand on and judge Karen or her finances? Last time I checked, none of them were self-sufficient. Robyn lives on Juan's wages. Charrisse lives on Eddie's wages (for now). Ashley lives off of Michael (for now). Gizelle lives off of her ex, Jamal. Monique is living lavishly thanks to Chris. I am ready to get to the reunion where I know that Karen is gonna get all these broads together.
  17. But they still somewhat touched social stories every now and then. Not as much as before but they did. Regardless, they do need to venture back to their roots b/c it is criminal that all other forms of media are making a hefty profit off a model that daytime soaps built.
  18. Karen & Charrisse went IN!
  19. Aren't they related?
  20. But even then soaps still told socially relevant stories. All of that seems to cease about the mid 2000s when soaps totally strayed from their roots.
  21. I assume they will seeing as their families haven't been cast yet. If we hear casting calls for their families then that's a indicator he might wanna keep 'em. Teen typically don't stay on this show unless their families are on the Square driving stories too.
  22. ^ This. It bothers me how everything daytime used to be centered around is now something all other forms of media are profiting heavily off of. This is Us, which is a soap in itself, was one of the most buzzed about shows this past year. Soaps are hot again and it is sad that soaps can't capitalize off what they started.
