Bravo's The Real Housewives of....
Totally agree. Denise is far, far tougher than Kyle. She's been married to and divorced from Charlie Sheen. None of these women will scare her.

I forgot to mention that! Yes! Denise is getting that B&B promo in. "I'm filming like 10 episodes of The Bold and the Beautiful a week"...

I loved Denise ripping into Kyle's whiney, stupid ass. And LVP continues to loom large over this show. PK couldn't keep her name out of his mouth when speaking to Robert Earl...

Several of the MTS and AD scenes are just expertly done. The praise on the directors, and both actresses, is well deserved.

Y&R to air classic episodes
So I've just rewatched the clip at 0.25 speed...what Alex does is she holds the glass with her right hand and dumps the water on MTS and her right hand brings the glass down immediately, but her left arm and hand shoots up in the air, so it really looks like she's thrown the glass out of her left hand, but what the left arm is really doing is getting ready to flip the table. Whoever directed that really knew what they were doing because it still holds up.

I'd not remembered they did that intercutting and was impressed with how gripping and dramatic it was. Like you say, Y&R hit every beat. TPTB have, for some inexplicable reason, decided that Victoria Newman should be bland. It's so wrong and has destroyed the character. Alex Donnelly's Diane is so missed by me. I think they should just ignore the MAB killing off and bring AD back. It's amazing how good the 1998 episode looks. Katherine's forgotten attic was epic. LOL - Esther too busy trying to grapple for more screen time. I just love Diane vs Nikki in all their confrontations. The hateful chemistry was palpable. I always wondered if it transferred offscreen, as we never really got a straight answer as to why Diane was recast.

Camille looks absolutely stunning - and that's filming on a smartphone (undoubtedly with a ring light). The rest of 'em don't hold a candle to her.

Bravo's The Real Housewives of....
Vyle is a bitch and always has been. It's so gratifying to see that exposed in the cold, hard light of day. Her insulting Denise at the table ("ragamuffin") really showed what a petty, mean, sh*tty person she is. The editors can't stop with the LVP flashbacks. She looms large over this show.

It's so great seeing Alex as Diane. Recasting her and then killing off the character was such a mistake. She could have been rested and then brought back in when useful for story. Jill and Katherine are always the highlight. Their scenes are so easy to get sucked into.

ALL: Soap Stars - Where are they now?
The interesting thing is Susan Lucci wore no jewelry in the first frame, and then a lot in the second. Heather looks healthy. The healthiest she's been in years. I wish her so well.

Bravo's The Real Housewives of....
RHONY Another great episode full of fun and laughs and pettiness. Just how I like it. I won't belabour the episode because I thought it was just tons of fun and a breeze to watch. But I will say the following: 1. The Bravo editors were incredible when they inserted the caption "Loic: Hairdresser For Models Actually In The Show" 2. Luann looked INCREDIBLE in that black dress and tortoise geometric necklace:

The best part of the episode was seeing Kay's dining room. Tomorrow is Katherine's wedding to Murphy. *snore* They had so many other great choices.

Absolutely agree. Katherine was a mean, bitter, hardened woman, and we loved her for it. Even when she found Mackenzie she was a wreck and it was amazing to watch. LML and MAB softened her up way, way too much and the businesswoman angle was such a cop out to try and keep her in the mix. A Mac/Billy (great)grandchild for Katherine and Jill would have given so, so much for them to play off of. Mac and Billy could go through marital problems or Mac could have had post-partum depression or the baby could have a health crisis or even lighter things like Katherine and Jill competing for the baby's affections. The possibilities were limitless and Mac and Billy were incredibly popular under Tom and Bashioum. In my view, the loss of Tom was bad, but it was the loss of Bashioum that really hurt because none of the Mac recasts have worked - she brought a hardness to the role that was so similar to Jeanne Cooper that I had no trouble believing them to be grandmother and granddaughter. Watching Katherine's Intervention, it's amazing how much better the show was then and back in 2004 we all thought it was faltering (which it was), but Dear God In Heaven how I'd wish to go back to 2004 levels of quality. I always looked at the lighting and appearances by Rex and Philip as Kay's drunken hallucination, rather than divine intervention (which it was meant to appear to be with Rex and Philip in white resort wear). The acting and production and style is just head and shoulders above what we see now.

Y&R to air classic episodes
Seeing Alden, Houghton, Birn, Jones, Foster, and Best was bittersweet. Sally McDonald was listed as a production assistant. Incredible talent fostered and promoted from within. Y&R, for decades, was in the Top 30 most highly rated broadcasts in Canada every week (a quick review of ratings shows it ranked within the Top 30 as recently as 2016), which includes daytime, primetime, and news. Y&R has almost always been a news hour lead in for Global, to much success. You'll see a lot of it in the last episode that airs this week (Billy and Chloe's wedding). It's painted an old school robin's egg blue and could be expanded out onto the pool. In Jeanne's Archive of American Television interview she said the set cost $175,000 (in 1973 dollars!) to build. Diminishing that set was such a grave mistake.

That is how I feel. Kenya is far more unlikeable and unwatchable. Nene still makes me laugh.

I'm absolutely tuning in for this. It will be great to see them all together again (albeit physically distanced)

I've said it once, I'll say it a million times, Jeanne was at her best when Katherine was at her worst. That's a shame because I loved her as Mamie. Her "You mean the bitch, don't you?" line is still one of my favourites. Aside from Jeanne and Jess Walton, it's a distinct possibility. She would be a hoot. Someone should get her on.

Jess Walton gave a good interview to Michael Fairman about Katherine the Great Week, Jeanne, and her time in general on Y&R: https://michaelfairmantv.com/yrs-jess-walton-remembers-jeanne-cooper-classic-katherine-jill-and-talks-life-in-present-day-gc/2020/04/26/

Bravo's The Real Housewives of....
I almost feel bad for Nene too. It's clear that someone in production has it out for her. I also point out that she told no lies about Eva. Eva is incredibly boring and no matter how well she performs at the reunion, she should not be returning to the show because she brought nothing, and I mean nothing, this entire season. She brought nothing last season either. Tanya and Marlo both brought MUCH more to the show and neither of them gets the glory Eva does... I've finally caught up on RHOA today (it seems that the broadcast of the last two episodes has been delayed in Canada, but they're up on Hayu)...overall it's been a very decent season. I do not care for the Kandi and Todd drama at all. Todd is a petulant twerp. Mama Joyce is a bitter cow. Kandi is an industrious, kick ass, woman and she's better than both of them put together. Todd publicly flogging himself was needed. He has no clue how good he has it. Little Ace is adorable. It is blatantly obvious that Cynthia is only in Atlanta for the show and that she otherwise is in Los Angeles with Mike. Her own child isn't there. Speaking of children, what on earth is Cynthia playing at with mentioning a baby? We do not need a fake pregnancy musing storyline a la Melissa Gorga. Porsha looked like a superstar at Kandi's baby shower. This season has been incredible for her. Kenya is a bitch with an ugly heart. I don't like watching her because none of it rings true. Fake as they come. She has made me feel sympathetic to Nene.

No, Jeanne was sober by the time MTS stopped talking to her (Jeanne went to rehab in 1986). It's a very weird story and only one that MTS can tell because Jeanne didn't have a clue. Agreed. Both were so important to the show I realize it would have been very difficult to get rid of either of them, but that kind of behaviour is just unprofessional.

Bravo's The Real Housewives of....
RHOBH I am disgusted with myself for watching and loving what I am seeing on RHOBH this season. It's clear that the filming was a mess and that the producers had to scramble in order to put together a good season because they could not fail after all the criticism that has been levelled at RHOBH for years. They are taking chances with production and I am finding it refreshing. Breaking the 4th wall with the producers talking is excellent and actually addressing the show itself is very important for these franchises to evolve. Dorit is so much more enjoyable this season, that it's kind of amazing. I liked that the producers challenged her and PK on their lawsuits and even though they hardly addressed it (it's obvious the house is solely in Dorit's name for creditor protection) I liked that scene the best. I really like Garcelle and enjoyed seeing her with Ali Landry and Erika. I enjoy everything about her so far. Erika has been so different this season that even though she's inauthentic and performing at all times, the character she's now playing is so much more relatable. Rinna continues to struggle to find an actual storyline and I don't like that she's featuring her daughter's mental illness at all. Let's face it: her daughters would be complete unknowns if Rinna hadn't pushed them into the spotlight and kept them there by talking about them. She should focus on spotlighting her QVC business and how it's developed. Kyle is a non-factor and should be fired. Sutton is wholly unlikeable and comes across terribly. I listened to an interview she gave Heather McDonald's Juicy Scoop podcast and she came off much, much better but I think we're seeing the real Sutton on this show and it's not flattering. She reminds me a lot of RHOV's awful Jody. Denise was more entertaining hopped up on painkillers than Kyle will ever be when she's trying to ham it up. RHONY I loved this episode. These women give us everything: drama, comedy, thrills, romance, lust, tension, suspicion - they do it all and they do it well and I'm forever indebted to them for getting the world through this pandemic one naked pool romp at a time. The key to RHONY is that the cast, for the most part, is not self conscious about the cameras. They don't care how they come across (while all other franchises, with perhaps the exception of certain housewives) are extremely aware of how they come across on camera and want to be perceived positively. Luann hitting on the tennis pro and then the dog groomer (who I have no problem believing she hooked up with that night) was hilarious and like watching SATC's Samantha Jones in her prime. Dorinda, Tinsley, Leah, and Sonja's drunken shouting match/pool party/bacchanal was just what the world needed to see. I laughed and laughed. Dorinda and Sonja in bed with Sonja's dog Marley with their face masks on was amazing and another comedic high point. The thing about Sonja is she's harmless and rallies like a champion. Ramona leaving her own party to go to someone else's was so Ramona. Bravo to BRAVO, they're getting us through this pandemic.
