  1. No, Jeanne was sober by the time MTS stopped talking to her (Jeanne went to rehab in 1986). It's a very weird story and only one that MTS can tell because Jeanne didn't have a clue. Agreed. Both were so important to the show I realize it would have been very difficult to get rid of either of them, but that kind of behaviour is just unprofessional.
  2. RHOBH I am disgusted with myself for watching and loving what I am seeing on RHOBH this season. It's clear that the filming was a mess and that the producers had to scramble in order to put together a good season because they could not fail after all the criticism that has been levelled at RHOBH for years. They are taking chances with production and I am finding it refreshing. Breaking the 4th wall with the producers talking is excellent and actually addressing the show itself is very important for these franchises to evolve. Dorit is so much more enjoyable this season, that it's kind of amazing. I liked that the producers challenged her and PK on their lawsuits and even though they hardly addressed it (it's obvious the house is solely in Dorit's name for creditor protection) I liked that scene the best. I really like Garcelle and enjoyed seeing her with Ali Landry and Erika. I enjoy everything about her so far. Erika has been so different this season that even though she's inauthentic and performing at all times, the character she's now playing is so much more relatable. Rinna continues to struggle to find an actual storyline and I don't like that she's featuring her daughter's mental illness at all. Let's face it: her daughters would be complete unknowns if Rinna hadn't pushed them into the spotlight and kept them there by talking about them. She should focus on spotlighting her QVC business and how it's developed. Kyle is a non-factor and should be fired. Sutton is wholly unlikeable and comes across terribly. I listened to an interview she gave Heather McDonald's Juicy Scoop podcast and she came off much, much better but I think we're seeing the real Sutton on this show and it's not flattering. She reminds me a lot of RHOV's awful Jody. Denise was more entertaining hopped up on painkillers than Kyle will ever be when she's trying to ham it up. RHONY I loved this episode. These women give us everything: drama, comedy, thrills, romance, lust, tension, suspicion - they do it all and they do it well and I'm forever indebted to them for getting the world through this pandemic one naked pool romp at a time. The key to RHONY is that the cast, for the most part, is not self conscious about the cameras. They don't care how they come across (while all other franchises, with perhaps the exception of certain housewives) are extremely aware of how they come across on camera and want to be perceived positively. Luann hitting on the tennis pro and then the dog groomer (who I have no problem believing she hooked up with that night) was hilarious and like watching SATC's Samantha Jones in her prime. Dorinda, Tinsley, Leah, and Sonja's drunken shouting match/pool party/bacchanal was just what the world needed to see. I laughed and laughed. Dorinda and Sonja in bed with Sonja's dog Marley with their face masks on was amazing and another comedic high point. The thing about Sonja is she's harmless and rallies like a champion. Ramona leaving her own party to go to someone else's was so Ramona. Bravo to BRAVO, they're getting us through this pandemic.
  3. But what of the Linda Dano, Stephen Schnetzer, Carmen Duncan, Anna Stuart, Amy Carlson, Alicia Coppola etc group of people who genuinely liked each other and still hang out with each other 20 years after the show ended?
  4. You're most welcome. Jeanne's entire Archive of American Television Interview is excellent and it's three hours long. Jeanne, unlike some interviewees, is totally candid and loves to expand on topics, dish, and have an opinion. https://interviews.televisionacademy.com/interviews/jeanne-cooper
  5. Absolutely. Y&R was always a cut above visually. They spent an enormous amount of money on the sets and it showed. I'll leave it to the Jeanne to explain how Y&R elevated daytime:
  6. I think that's a fair observation and I think Bill Bell found that inspiration again with Jess Walton. He wrote her to two Emmys (including the show's first win for Lead Actress) and played to her ferocious strengths.
  7. I suspect it was a few factors: 1. Adair was booking primetime roles in the 1980s and probably didn't want to be tied down; 2. Adair married Chip Hayes and may have wanted to start a family (when she and Hayes eventually adopted their children in 1995, she retired from the business entirely); 3. Walton was clearly happily committed to daytime and her transition from Capitol to Y&R required no accommodation.
  8. A class act if there ever was one.
  9. RHONY "And then you die and you catch some d*ck on the way." - Sonja Morgan. Give her an Emmy. What a line. This episode was a lot of fun even though basically nothing happened of any consequence. It felt easy breezy and organic with the women bonding at the winery and Lu "taking care of her neck"...and then that evening party. That was a riot of hilarity. Obviously, that short rich guy just wants to offload the house and this was a way to promote it, but Sonja's descent into booze was hilarious - especially because she rallies so effectively the next morning. It really is incredible.
  10. The demo was 0.4 compared to this week's Vanderpump Rules with a demo of 0.6...
  11. They literally had LVP's voice playing over Rinna putting on that crown. Like the kind of flashback voiceover that they'd do on Y&R between Kay and Jill. I could hardly believe it. Rinna literally has no storyline, and hasn't for years, so I wonder where she's meant to be headed this season.
  12. Okay so I watched RHOBH. It's quarantine. I was desperate. I was underwhelmed at alleged huge "iconic" last few minutes were. None of that surprised me at all. But I'm here to see Denise win and come out swinging. Are we at all surprised that Erotika Lame was a stripper? I'm not. And I don't fault her at all for it. She should have embraced this part of her story a long, long time ago. The tension between Dorit and Kyle was palpable and I actually liked/agreed with everything Dorit said about Kyle slapping her name on a fashion line. Kyle is still the whiney drama queen that she's always been. I pitied that fashion show producer having to deal with Kyle's histrionics. I loved seeing a glimpse of Faye. I liked Garcelle as well - anyone who doesn't like Kyle has a sterling quality in my book. Stratton...hmm...in my opinion, which is not based in fact and therefore cannot give rise to a claim for defamation, she has a drinker's gut. The stomach on her with those skeletal arms. Rinna and the crown...I totally agree with @NothinButAttitude production, had they been smart, would have not mentioned LVP even once. But she looms large over this show.
  13. I cannot wait for Potomac.
  14. I didn't notice The Morally Corrupt Faye Resnick in the trailer...this is the most tempting thing to tune back in that I've seen.
  15. The tattoo thing was amusing to me because it showed their inherent snobbery. RHONY is excellent as usual. I can watch and laugh with and at them and it's the kind of good time we need during the circumstances we find ourselves in.
  16. I think it comes down to a few factors... 1. Nene and Kim were friends before they were famous and before RHoATL was a glimmer in Andy Cohen's eye. They have history based in real friendship. 2. Nene and Kim were involved with their respective children. If someone loves your children and is good to them, a part of you will love them forever. 3. When it comes right down to it, and in the circumstances we find ourselves in, it's safe to say that very few of the housewives are actually bad people, they have their sh*t (and don't we all?) and time heals a lot of wounds.
  17. Jackie came into her own on camera in her late 30s and 40s and beyond. The very few acting roles she did seemed awkward - she lacked the presence that Joan always had onscreen.
  18. RHONY was just what I needed. Loved every minute of it. Lu joyfully dancing with the drag queen was feel good in these troubled times. Sonja continues to be hilarious. Ramona wailing that she wants a man to hold her was like a Tennessee Williams moment. Leah is going to fit in seamlessly. Dorinda went had for Tinsley out of the gate and I didn't mind it at all.
  19. They all look like hell except for Denise. Sorry Garcelle, but she doesn't look great. It's kind of shocking to see how much Kyle has changed over the years. And not for the better.
  20. Morgan is a good, old fashioned, nice person. In addition to that, she's a very intelligent, and well informed, person who clearly cares about the broader world around her.
  21. Absolutely. RHOP's Monique showed pregnancy cannot be used as an excuse. Eva hasn't brought anything to ATL the entirety of her run.
  22. Is Nene wrong though? Eva brings nothing at all to the show and Marlo and Tanya have brought WAY more this season.
  23. Dame Joan doing her bit while on Covid-19 lockdown in London:
  24. Potomac is looking really, really strong. It was glorious last season and I only hope for more of the same. Love Karen front and centre in that amazing dress.
  25. For fans of RHONY's Dorinda...she sat down a few weeks ago with her longtime friend, former What Not To Wear host turned cosmetics company maven, Trinny Woodall who appeared in Dorinda's first season when she and Carole went to London, for one of Trinny's social media programs. It's a fun watch and given current circumstances in the world, I hope it perks everyone up:
