Mariah carried the child for 9 months and went through a traumatic kidnapping that resulted in a unplanned 'home' birth. she bravely tried to self care and protect 'Bowie' Her subsequent attachment to the child was pretty much condemned by all concerned and she had to shape up quicksmart. Meanwhile Devon makes a quickie deposit (what? maybe 20 mins depending on the porn at hand)and yet he's allowed access and custody because his feels are more important. Devon needs to chat with Chelsea and Adam .They both have kids (Johnny and Christian) that they couldn't give a toss about. Those two are going to grow up and be like- My mom/dad was living in town and regularly crossed path with my 'parents' (Billy and Nick)and had no interested in having anything to do with me, but were full on parents to their other kid (Connor).

Sally Sussman seemed to be making stuff up as she went along. If Graham was going to be Ashley's next love, then plans were changed drastically. There were no other possibilities for Ashley. The best she could do in terms of new characters was Scott Grainger and his involvement with Abby and Sharon. Remember Scott was going to write a biography of Victor and then one day it was all off. Re Ruth Chatterton She played herself on Big Sister in a 3 week stint in July 1939. Alice Frost who played Ruth Evans Brewster Wayne was on vacation so Ruth stepped into the lead role for that time, but not as the same character. In one of the synopses maybe 76/77 it read like a romantic merry go round. Sandy was interested in Bob, who showed some interest in Valerie who was possibly interested in Dan etc They just seemed to be teasing all these relationships but nothing concrete was being set up.

The whole baby saga and everyone involved is terrible. Does this Chance present in any way as some kind of government agent that would be involved in high stakes missions ? That kid is a few months old and Devon is talking about his welfare as though he's been left in a trailer park toilet. He is well loved and cared for and Devon has had access to him over and beyond his entitlement. Amanda is living with Devon and so therefore would be around that child. Does she have any attachment to him? Following Devon's twisted logic, couldn't Amanda's presence be upsetting? What do Nina and Ashley think about this? Jill? Victor? Devon is an idiot.

Both Jeff and Winsor are looking very 'preserved' at this point where as Clayton is looking way more natural; Interesting because of the three Clayton originally had that 'Ken doll' look.

Thanks for posting. Interesting that they set up the corridor and Ashley's bedroom for that scene. Perhaps it was used in previous or subsequent episodes. We didn't see the Abbott living room when Mamie answered the door so perhaps only the foyer was set up. Nowadays, they would have that scene take place downstairs, there really wasn't any reason for Ashley's room to be shown.

Re ATWT I don't know how far into the 70's the Hughes living room set, (with the tiny staircase)was used or whether it was ever updated. The kitchen was seen from the beginning up till 1980 . Did Nancy demand new appliances at some point? Maybe when they went to color? The Stewart house shown in the 1979 Soap Classic episodes had been around for a long time .Was it originally the Lowell house? In between the drab sets, harsh lighting, heavy makeup,shellacked hair and frumpy clothing the World had stopped turning!

As The world Turns also held on to live presentations up to 76, years after every other show (except EON) went to tape. They also retained the same opening title from 1956. By that stage every other show had changed opening titles and music except for AMC and DOOL I think. And they had years on ATWT. EON changed when they went to ABC I think.

Return to Eden got some mentions in the primetime soap thread. The mini series was huge in Australia so the decision was made to do a spin off series. The male lead James Reyne was the lead singer of a popular band 'Australian Crawl' and I don't think he had ever acted before. His son was on Neighbours I think years later.
