Taye Diggs was on The Talk this past Friday and Sheryl Underwood brought up his time on GL; she mentioned his character's name was Damian Sugar Hill. I thought Taye Diggs's GL character was named Adrian. I never saw Taye Diggs's GL episodes when they originally aired (1997 I think), only bits and pieces online.

Dynasty: Discussion Thread
I watched last night to see what the new Dynasty would be like, and it's like a white version of Empire crossed w/ Maria Arena Bell's version of Y&R's Newman family.

Not just the cast purge, but the EP change as well. John Conboy left for Capitol and H. Wesley Kenney took over, having previously worked with Bill Bell at Days. 1983 was also a bit of transition, as there were some major cast changes that year too: Andrea Evans replaced Lilibet Stern as Patty, Tracey Bregman arrived as Lauren, Brenda Dickson returned as Jill. I know Deborah Adair joined the cast of Dynasty in 1983, but did she leave Y&R by her own choice or was she terminated in order for Brenda Dickson to return? The 1982-1987 period really set in motion a lot of what is still felt today, mainly the eternal triangle (quadrangle really) and the eternal feud. I don't know if anyone else agrees with me, but I feel that it was H. Wesley Kenney that laid all the groundwork for Y&R's rise to #1 but Ed Scott that ended up getting all the credit. Granted, I didn't see a lot of the 1980s live as my Y&R watching then was limited to school breaks so I'm going by what I remember live, what I saw years later online, and from recap archives/books/soap magazines.

Peter Brown must have been a favorite actor of Bill Bell, as Bill Bell worked with him on Days then brought him to Y&R and later B&B. Bill Bell brought to Y&R/B&B a good number of actors he worked with on Days: Margaret Mason, Susan Seaforth Hayes, Susan Flannery just to name a few more.

Thank you YRfan23 and ltm1997 for gifting us rare 1980s Y&R :bighug Loved seeing the beginning of Victor/Nikki and the Abbotts. So Victoria's birth was on-screen then? I know MTS was pregnant in real life when Nikki was pregnant with Victoria, but I couldn't remember if MTS was written off for maternity leave before Nikki gave birth to Victoria.

Any Capitol Fans Here?
Heads up for those who have GSN, Catherine Hickland will be on Monday and Tuesday's episodes of $25,000 Pyramid. She was on one of the episodes from this past Friday and was really good at playing the game.

Well 1989 is when the Spectra gang arrived, maybe that's what drew you to B&B LOL The early years do resemble 1970s Y&R a lot. I used to equate pre-Sheila B&B as being practically identical to pre-Victor Y&R; the character and storyline similarities are numerous. But B&B does come into it's own around 1990, as by then Bill Bell figured out which characters were working and which weren't.
