  1. I was done when Dani referred to Ashley as "the human equivalent of unseasoned chicken".
  2. Nearly half of 1988 was writer's strike material, so that year was a write off for most shows.
  3. I remember a scene of Dani complimenting Andre on his prowess in a certain bedroom activity
  4. I put The Golden Girls in the same group as the other big 1980s workplace/friendship sitcoms Cheers and Night Court, not with the big 1980s family sitcoms The Cosby Show, Family Ties, Who's the Boss, Growing Pains. Funny that The Cosby Show, The Golden Girls, Who's the Boss, Growing Pains, Night Court all ended in the same season.
  5. @alwaysAMC You're brave to continue watching 1998.
  6. I completed a rewatch of The Golden Girls for the 40th anniversary. Seasons 1-3 were my favorite seasons. Seasons 4 and 5 were enjoyable as well. Seasons 6 and 7 had their funny moments but something felt off that I couldn't exactly place. I think The Golden Girls had a good run and ended at the right time.
  7. 1999 was my last year of real time watching. I started losing interest after the Jabot/Newman/Forrester crossover ended plus regular life got in the way so I just gave up watching. I did see online the Stephanie/Brooke confrontation that got SF her first Lead Actress Emmy for B&B.
  8. BtG could go the Lillie Belle/Olivia/Dru route with Anita/Nicole/Dani.
  9. Miami reunion tomorrow. There was no storyline with Larsa new boo. Maybe he'll be featured next season.
  10. Anita was not playing today. I could not believe she called Andre "boy".
  11. Well neither can act.
  12. Hahaha, dead! I asked before if Alex Alegria was BtG's version of Ronn Moss, and yeah, he is.
  13. BtG should continue to be hot fire.
  14. If we factor in sisters fighting over a guy, Kat/Eva would be comparable to early Olivia/Dru. Olivia/Kat a little bougie, Dru/Eva a little hood. In terms of their rivalry, we could also compare them to Caroline/Brooke. Caroline/Kat upper class prized virgin heroine, Brooke/Eva working class strivers.
  15. Nicole and Carlton might be putting on a show for Ted, but I think there's something brewing between them.
  16. I accepted a long time ago that any GL episodes prior to 1979 are lost forever. In my life GL had two golden eras, Potter/Dobsons/Marland and Calhoun/Long/Curlee. Those who got to see both in their entirety are most fortunate.
  17. I think it will be with
  18. Promo for season 5 premiere starts at 16:16
  19. Eww. Sorry, Alex Alegria does not do anything for me, plus he can't act at all. Kat vs. Eva is the sister rivalry BtG needs. I agree that Tomas is no prize.
  20. @Maxim Your girl Brooke has an heiress apparent in Beyond the Gates Vanessa McBride. I pointed out in the BtG thread that Vanessa makes Brooke look angelic.
  21. MTS and EB are Y&R's longest-running cast members and I think the bulk of the salary budget is going to them. PB must also have a large salary. So many regimes have tried to send EB to the retirement home but all have failed. EB is going to be on Y&R either until it ends or until he goes to that daytime drama in the sky.
  22. Do not give CBS/Sony ideas.
  23. @Khan Thanks for the reply. BtG is still finding its way and despite the flaws its still more enjoyable than current Y&R. The Y&R monthly threads are so small now, whereas I can barely keep up with the BtG threads.
