I knew exactly what Hayley was trying to doing when she started showing Izaiah pictures of Winterfest. No dignity at all. Naomi's comment about Martin having staff to write postcards reeked of being privileged and elite. Chelsea is not going to do well with a long distance relationship.

I think that the show wants to avoid the idea that Black women don't have long hair, because many do. Anita's hair being curly could easily be explained as her using heat straightening where a simple wash would revert the hair to a natural state. Of course further hair loss is going to be expected but symbolically cutting it was Anita taking control of fate by not prolonging the process of hair coming out in clumps. With a shorter cut there is less hair to come out.

The obvious answer is that scalp cooling would take away from the storyline. Losing your hair because of chemo is an expected part of a cancer storyline. Side note, but Sean Freeman is presented on an awards show on BET. I just heard my mom say "That's Andre" lol.

I've said it before: Hayley is King Magazine and Dani is Essence. Hayley's clothing choices fit with her being all about male attention and ego whereas Dani is fashion focused.

Epic slap. She was like "breathe, mutha[!@#$%^&*]a!"

Bill was side eyeing Hayley a few times, but he still fell for her ploy to get him to not stay in the hospital. Bill is such an idiot. No good wife insists that her husband go against doctors advice. Kat is once again making everything "The Kat Show". The character has taken an even more annoying turn lately. Anita and Dani's scenes were nice. Dani was the right daughter for Anita to share losing her hair with.

When Kat was running down Eva she reminded me of India on Guiding Light when she was talking to some lady about Reva. The scene is on YouTube. Kat is very elitist and that is what makes her so annoying.

It's nothing for the soap industry to worry about. For the time being viewers still enjoy seeing real people play characters and marvel at their unique talent. On top of that AI has many detractors and the actors unions plus writers unions would boycott platforms that promoted full on AI shows.

Vernon and Anita present so much of what a lot of soap matriarchs and patriarchs have lacked and that is actual lives like the younger characters have. Kat's angle makes no sense. She wanted Eva away from Tomas yet she is trying to ruin whatever relationship Eva could have with Izaiah. Chelsea is too immature for arelationship, especially one with someone who is grounded in reality. Randy keep warning Hayley to stop dosing Bill heavy but she won't listen. At this point it's less about the money and more about her hating him for still being into Dani. Her ego is crushed. Nicole having two men on the hook isn't going to be enough for her. I still think she's going to start calling Vanessa's escort service. It's giving potential Karen Wolek vibes except Nicole will be embarrassed for buying men instead of soliciting them.

Leslie saying "hehe" was hilarious. All of her delusions about Ted are not helped by Eva always carrying Ted's business back to her. Probably my favorite part of the episode was how Vernon let Bill know exactly where he stands. The use of the word "disappointed" was a good choice because it's the most painful thing children can hear from their parents at any age and since Bill sees Vernon as his father it really was effective. Kat striking up a conversation with Izaiah was all about her keeping friction going with Eva. Derek is doing the most and acting a little crazy, but Grayson is a bit shady. Derek might end up being a rescuer.

I'm not saying that old tropes are the way to go, but that's definitely what this particular story has drawn on. There have been different approaches to some things, though.

It is a soap so the characters are written to have wacky logic. Plenty of soaps have had couples reunite even though one or both of the duo did some messed up stuff to each other.

That's why I framed it as trying to build a triangle. Dani rescuing Bill from Hayley's clutches would have been a triumphant reunion and is probably what was planned. But now the writers seem to be trying to make that vision happen while maintaining Dani/Andre.

Clearly the writers intended for Andre to be a distraction for Dani and for Andre/Ashley to be a pairing, but that wasn't working with viewers and Andre/Dani was better received. Hayley's evil plan might have been intended to be Dani's route back to Bill, but Andre/Dani being well received through a wrench in that and now they are trying to establish a triangle.

Legally doctors and attorneys can't share with anyone spouses included. Journalists don't have legal parameters, but have to protect stories and sources. Leslie leaving dirty underwear in Ted's room was trifiling, but it's the sort of pettiness that she does that is actually funny. Kat was the neighborhood busybody today and for her to bother her ailing grandmother with her concerns about Nicole being out on barstools was selfish. Jacob or Smitty or both are going to get hurt. The foreshadowing is there.
