It is wise to be concerned about any tricks the might occur with the election results and I have concerns too. Thankfully voter registrations have gone up in the past week so hopefully that meant more voters to help put Trump out.

There's a lot the court will do, but there is only so far that they will go. A huge defeat is not going to be overturned. There have been some outliers, but for the most part I think there is an underestimation of Biden in polling at the state level. Plus some pollsters have created more strict likely voter screens after 2016.

If the election ends up looking something like Florida and Biden wins the electoral college narrowly then I could see Trump maybe pulling off a coup like Bush did. But if Biden is winning decisively and gets over 300 electoral votes then the court is not going to intervene.

The goal now has to be to defeat Trump in a landslide or at least decisively. Despite what happens with the court it would be huge setback for Republicans to lose the Presidency and the Senate in a realigning election. Alito and Thomas are not that young so they could retire within the next ten or so years, so it is important to pick up Senate seats and lay the ground work for maintaining the presidency just in case those seats become vacant. This is a long game and Democrats have to learn how to play it.

The gauntlet will be thrown down if this appointment is jammed through and the court will be expanded if Biden wins the presidency and Democrats win the Senate. The filibuster will be gone and DC and Puerto Rico will be admitted to the union.

With outright white supremacists in this administration this story is probably true. Stephen Miller would most certainly push for something like this. All the anti-immigration sentiment was bound to go in such a direction. We have to turnout to vote, because human rights are one of the many things at stake.

To use any sort of force Trump needs the military and the Joint Chiefs of Staff have already said they will not get involved in anything related to the election.

Jealousy makes people insane. The soaps really should borrow this. Can you imagine a recurring psycho character screaming at a look-a-like of their nemesis? https://www.cnn.com/2020/09/05/politics/michael-cohen-book-trump-white-house/index.html

Releasing those pictures seemed calculated to me. As if he was trying to reaffirm his commitment to maintaining the establishment. But he had no problem using Breonna's name to score some sort of cheap political points to look reasonable to the public.

The toothless rat of an Attorney General of Kentucky had the nerve to invoke Breonna Taylor's name at the RNC while he refuses to arrest the police officers who killed her. These people are shameless.

The whole scare tactic that the Democratic Party is too far left didn't work in the midterms and it won't work this year. There is a dissonance between the rhetoric and what much of the public believes. Republicans are trying to make out like Biden is a terrifying communist, but it just isn't believable. If anything Trump is a terrifying right-winger that can be successfully portrayed as such and he's also a negative person all around. It was no mistake that the convention played up Biden's humanity and his commitment to his family (and Harris' family commitments were played up too).

Racism and racial representation on soaps
That's a really good point. I've seen some people call Latino or Hispanic people Spanish and it is irritating.

Racism and racial representation on soaps
All of the Lopez-Fitzgeralds were played by non-Hispanic actors except for Paloma and the second Miguel. Cord and Maria on OLTL were portrayed by people who were not Latino either. John Loprieno is Italian and Barbara Luna is of a variety of European ethnicity and Filipino.

Racism and racial representation on soaps
There are a good amount of people there who aren't remotely liberal. It is a fairly liberal place but sometimes just how liberal it is gets overstated.

Racism and racial representation on soaps
That demonic looking woman is every racist white man's favorite colored gal. In slavery she would have been in the big house sleeping in the master's bed and telling him about the slaves trying to escape. And his non-acting self has the nerve trying to pass judgement on anyone for anything. Old wrinkled up white asparagus of a man.

Racism and racial representation on soaps
Being a writer is too much of a position of authority for a person of color, because white actors aren't going to want to feel as if they are being told what to do by someone who is non-white. And of course producers want to keep the establishment as old guard as possible because that is how things work in all industries.

Not really surprised, but I would have thought that Moss was one of those dumb people who are apathetic about politics. But then again Trump has drawn in a lot of apathetic types.

Racism and racial representation on soaps
And the daughter is hiding behind the fact that Candace Owens is black to justify her mother liking the posts. How predictable. The notion that black people can't be racist against black people is laughable. Then she had the nerve to call people cowardly calling her mother out cowardly when her mother won't even step out and address the issue herself. Everyone is indeed entitled to opinion which means that everyone else is entitled to have their own opinion about a person's backwards beliefs.

Racism and racial representation on soaps
Just a little bit of context about why Reeves liking anything by Candace Owens is disturbing. https://thehill.com/blogs/blog-briefing-room/news/429180-candace-owens-if-hitler-just-wanted-to-make-germany-great-and Candace Owens is a full on white supremacist and if Reeves is a fan of hers then she probably is one too. This isn't a mere difference in ideology or opinion. It's the difference between sanity and hateful, dangerous racism.

Racism and racial representation on soaps
Reeves is definitely expendable since her acting ability is hardly of Emmy caliber. Liking posts from someone who has defended Hitler and called black people chimpanzees is unacceptable. Candace Owens is a cover for racist white people because she pushes their views. In this climate it wouldn't surprise me if Reeves was fired.
