Man, all of these shows are particularly rough these days.

From Variety: Mayim Bialik will host Jeopardy through November 5, then she and Ken Jennings will trade off hosting duties through the end of the year. The search for a permanent host is ongoing.

I just happened to tune in today. What’s with the set design?! The panel was facing the live studio audience while interviewing Angela Bassett, who was coming in from a remote location, but she was on a huge screen that came down and completely obscured the studio audience. I’m assuming the screen was double-sided so the audience could see Angela, but it was just odd.

Yeah, the women’s final had a lot more glamour and youth, plus a more surprising story. People were way more invested in the women’s side this year. The men’s matches were mostly boring during the second week (after the Alcaraz/Tsitsipas match and the success of qualifiers like Otte and Botic vdZ). Very predictable and uninspired. The biggest men’s finals in recent years have usually been Roger vs. Novak. The other ones… meh.

Have I missed any scoop emerging from the BH reunion? Feels like things have been on lock. Saw this.

GH is the best soap by far right now, but it’s still pretty mediocre. Payoffs aren’t worth the build-up for the most part. They squander all that “make ‘em wait” energy for these tension-free reveals. We’ve said that so many times in recent months (like the Michael/Willow/Chase confrontation). Hopefully they can stick the landing a bit better when PC as a whole learns Sonny is alive.

Oof. They made old Mo look rough in that flashback. Again, there are moments when Wes could be believable. All in all, this is probably his best performance in a while. But it’s still 17 minutes in.

Honestly, a more reality-based, character-driven show, one that really confronted everything that grosses us out (including the race angle), could make a story like this work. B&B is not that show.

This show should never show flashbacks (like today’s Jack/Phyllis one). It makes today’s show look pathetic. PB and MS had IT. Glad that they are wise enough to revisit it.
