  1. But that “Next week on Y&R” preview is supposed to entice people to watch next week with some interesting glimpses of drama. The clips they chose couldn’t have been more random or mundane. I don’t particularly like how GH does it during their end credits, which is often like a quick montage of non sequiturs, but at least they create some sense of interest and “Hmmm, what will happen next? Who’s Carly shouting at?”
  2. Sheila just confessing everything kinda deflates the climax. The jaunty Deacon/Brooke/Hope scenes just seem so weird in juxtaposition.
  3. This show has made death so meaningless.
  4. Yikes at Sakkari.
  5. Funny how Swiatek will get tested in one set, then just steamrolls.
  6. This show just half-asses these promos. That was a big bit of nothing, aside from a glimpse of NuSummer.
  7. Oof. KKL and CG barely look human on that cover.
  8. Eric Braeden is joining Maurice Benard on State of Mind:

  10. Didn’t watch, but did not expect Denis to prevail against Rafa.
  11. Cancelled. It’s a bloodbath at the CW.
  12. The dialogue is terrible. That’s for sure.
  13. Courtney Hope has a photo in the mid-show bumper, but still doesn’t appear in the opening credits.
  14. Totally. It’s a really illuminating and helpful way of framing the disease.
  15. Just devastating.
  16. Stephen Dunn, creator and showrunner of this new “re-imagining” gives much more detail about the show, how it came together during the pandemic, and how the Pulse shooting influenced the story: https://www.hollywoodreporter.com/tv/tv-features/queer-as-folk-peacock-pulse-shooting-1235144299/

  18. Totally. Would have offloaded a character who simply doesn’t work in a way that would have made sense. They could have had Connor not in the car and had him devastated over the loss of his mother as well as a close male role model. That would have given organic angst for Adam and Sally, as Adam deals with unexpectedly becoming a single father, plus Connor’s resentment of Sally as “replacing his mother.” Victoria could have taken advantage of Adam’s distraction to outmaneuver him at Newman, at least for the short term. And you would have had great scenes from Elizabeth Hendrickson, as Chloe mourns her friend, as well as potential good stuff for Lauren/Tracey Bregman and Billy/JT. Add in Ashland’s potential shady involvement in Rey and Chelsea’s deaths; him manipulating Victoria into thinking she’s responsible in order to control her, isolate her, and maintain his grip on power; Adam blaming Victoria for the death of his child’s mother, a sort of echo to the Delia tragedy; Victor and Nikki being torn between their children; Nick stepping in to support Sharon, who blames Victoria for Rey’s death; Sharon and Adam bonding over their shared loss, which causes angst for Sally and Nick; Chance investigating the case to find out the real reason behind his best friend’s death; Diane finding out the truth about Ashland and blackmailing him to do her bidding (tying the story into the Phyllis/Abbotts sphere); and you could have had a story that would’ve rocked Y&R for years. Instead, we have Chelsea hanging around waiting for a winning story that will never come because JG just can’t quit MCE. She’s a good actress but sometimes you have to kill your darlings for the greater good.
  19. Muguruza just can’t get it together this year so far.
  20. Jacqueline MacInnes Wood is SERVING IT.
  21. The gowns are super weirdly fitted to me. Not to body shame, but they make several of the women look pregnant.
