When you're the First Lady, you know all eyes will be upon you, and that people will scrutinize your every move. Even if Melania wasn't actually saying she didn't give a f**k about the immigrant babies and children being forced into concentration camps, she (or her team) had to have been aware of the kind of statement wearing that particular jacket would have made at that particular moment. So, either they're clueless, or they truly do not care. (Or, it's probably a little of both, lol.) Aunt Bee and Marion Cunningham would be beside themselves at the sight of their Opie/Richie being so salty.

Poor Ann Larimer. That character really devolved from how she seemed in the beginning. For Steve, though, I would have introduced Matt's heretofore unknown sister, a widow with two or three kids, who comes to Madison as she adjusts to life after her husband's untimely passing.

This might sound something that Ron Carlivati would do, but I always thought it would've been neat if, for one episode, they had all the Toms (yes, including Jason Kincaid, lol) appear in one episode. They wouldn't have had to all play Tom, since that would have been TOO confusing. However, I would've given some of the actors maybe cameos or walk-ons.

Not necessarily. On his way out of Pine Valley, Eric Kane betrayed his daughter's trust by selling the stocks of Enchantment that she had given him to (I think) Natalie. After that, I don't think she had much contact with her father -- not even when it was revealed that she had been raped at his Hollywood house when she was fourteen, that Kendall was the product of said rape, or that Eric basically pimped out Erica to her rapist in order to get him to appear in one of his movies -- until she received word that he had passed away (this time, for real).

Look, maybe those parents ARE choosing to enter this country illegally WITH their children, knowing they will face criminal (misdemeanor) charges, while their children are taken away from them and placed in detention camps. However, I'd ask those who support this to consider the fact that, in most cases, these individuals AND their families are fleeing impoverished, dangerous circumstances back home, in the hopes that they will find asylum here, and provide brighter futures for their children and grandchildren. They don't WANT to be prosecuted or have their children detained, but what's the alternative for them? Remaining where they are and either getting killed or becoming even more destitute? If you attempt to enter this country legally, there's so much red tape to cut through. Frankly, you might not live long enough, or you STILL might not be granted passage. True, they're entering illegally, but even illegally, there's a chance -- a slim chance, maybe, but still, a chance -- that they might elude authorities at the borders.

"Despicable" doesn't begin to describe these latest atrocities coming from the (tiny) hands of our current administration. Separating children from their parents? Relocating them to "tent cities"? What's next? Starving them? Shaving off all their body hair? Tattooing numbers on all their arms? If only Donald Trump had a bunker to crawl into....

Claire Labine was a big fan of Greek tragedy, and a big believer in psychology, so that might explain some things. Similarly, I think I read somewhere that one of Agnes Nixon's biggest influences was Louisa May Alcott. If so, then THAT might explain why stories about young love, mixed with contemporary issues, tended to be where Nixon shone greatest as a writer. I know we've said this before, but it always bears repeating: Wisner Washam never gets enough credit for the tremendous work he did as AMC's HW during the early- and mid-'80's. In the entire history of that show, in fact, there were only three writers who truly "got" AMC: Agnes Nixon (of course), Lorraine Broderick (even if she wrote more clunkers than the other two) and Washam.

I had no idea that Roy Winsor had returned to LOL at some point as HW. Do any LOL fans remember his work during that period? If so, how was it (good, bad, in-between)?

Not to mention, the mayor, the governor, both U.S. senators, the president AND the First Lady, and the starting lineup from the New York Giants. (They were all on their way back from the can.)

No, if anything was worth re-exploring during that period, it would have been Bob and Lisa...and Kim and Dan Stewart's lookalike. (No way would I have been up for Kim hooking up with John again, lol.) Cricket STAYED pregnant during her two years in Oakdale, did she not? I think they missed a great opportunity to bring back Cricket and Ernie when Billy was grown-up and living in Oakdale for that brief period of time. Heck, they didn't even bother introducing his half-sister (Suzanne, right?) OR bringing back his bio dad, Cody Sullivan. So much history wasted.

It'd been funny, though, if that procession, for lack of a better word, had included characters that viewers hadn't seen in ages. ("Hey, it's us, Howie and Jane Dawson, just stoppin' by to congratulate you on the baby, and to keep this insane suspense going!")

Bob and Cricket ("Bricket"?) would have made more sense than Cricket and Ernie. Just sayin'. Heck, I would have kept Bob and Lyla's relationship going long enough for Lyla to become apoplectic over learning that saintly "Dr. Bob" had feelings for her daughter (Cricket or Margo, take your pick).

Or Margo, as played by Margaret Colin. I mean, imagine how John Dixon would have reacted to his daughter being involved in a May-December relationship with his professional rival? Would it have made sense? Maybe not. But John Dixon becoming Bob Hughes' father-in-law certainly would have provided a ton of story, lol. RE: Miranda. Here's what I think (or suspect): someone at CBS or P&G -- or maybe even Mary-Ellis Bunim herself -- liked Elaine Princi and/or the character and wanted her kept on the show. However, Miranda was never designed to be a long-term character. Although the writers ultimately explained away her drug smuggling activities, the question of what to do with her beyond redemption loomed. "Oh well," says the HW of the moment, or some higher-up, "let's just stick her with Bob Hughes -- he hasn't had much to do for awhile -- and work that out later." Unfortunately, no one ever did, or could, work that out.

And they're not GOING to hear from party leadership, for obvious reasons. But, Black women should be used to saving the rest of our asses and getting no love for it by now.
