  1. Eh. He's looked like that since Castro overthrew Batista.
  2. IOW, the government is pretty much running itself.
  3. If only some politicians could deliver such strong statements. But seriously. FH says what she did was "misguided and profoundly wrong," so why didn't knowing that stop her from doing it in the first place? (Don't tell me she didn't know bribing a test proctor was wrong. Her actions -- not to mention, basic common sense -- say otherwise). As always, I feel like these people are sorry, only because they got caught. Meanwhile, what about Lori? Has she pled guilty to the charges as well?
  4. If he doesn't get the nomination in 2020, he'll just come back in 2024 and try again. And again. And again. Bernie will never go away. Ever.
  5. I simply do not understand all these folks on both sides of the political aisle who run around, screaming like Melissa Manchester about how there's "just too many people" either here already or who want to come over. Seriously? We're THAT overcrowded? There's THAT many people throughout the rest of the world of whom we have to be afraid?
  6. Sometimes, I wonder whether Trump is one of the trolls on SON.
  7. Here, in OKC, several locations, including the HQ's for our state's Democratic Party, have been desecrated lately with anti-Semitic epithets and imagery. What can you say? We have an individual, sitting in the very office that is supposed to protect all citizens from this kind of filth, who has said, in so many words, that it is perfectly okay to spray-paint your hatred and bigotry toward others, wherever you please, without fear of reprimand from the law enforcement community or the general public. This is America, in 2019, and probably beyond. Thanks for the article, DD.
  8. SUNSET BEACH tried everything and then some to get more people watching.
  9. Thank. God. Winchester's easy on the eyes, though. I'm sure he'll land on his pecs -- I mean, feet -- very shortly.
  10. [!@#$%^&*] the NYT. In fact, [!@#$%^&*] all of media. That's all.
  11. Knowing Y&R these days, if they ever tried to bring back Carl, they'd turn him into some lunatic who beat the hell out of Mary and molested Patty, causing her to become fixated on having a happy married life with her appointed savior, Jack Abbott.
  12. It's good to see Erika Slezak getting herself out there and proving that her career doesn't have to die with OLTL.
  13. If anyone asks, they'll just say he was too busy working on "Shameless" or some movie no one will see, hoping that'll satisfy everyone.
  14. No, I've heard or read somewhere that TPTB cut the story short, because they felt it wasn't working.
  15. I'm glad several of you appreciated my lame joke with that gif. After the day I've had, I'm gratified, knowing I can make others laugh.
  16. Lori Lightfoot has been elected mayor of Chicago. She is the first African-American female AND first lesbian to hold the position in that city. https://www.cbsnews.com/news/chicago-mayor-results-lori-lightfoot-wins-historic-runoff-against-toni-preckwinkle-live-updates-2019-04-02/?ftag=CNM-00-10aab6a&linkId=65619915&fbclid=IwAR2MvBh2cX7gBhmFrLfhezoAOIPsZiSIyGear4GPdMKduifA6yjX6Oezp5A I, too, will admit I don't understand everything about this situation, Vee, but I can see how much it has affected the Jewish communities in this country; and to them, and to you, I want to express my deepest sympathies.
  17. The network really believed their association guaranteed a successful series. They never realize that viewers don't give a flip about who's created and/or produced this-or-that series if the series is no damn good.
  18. Hadn't Paul been off-screen for awhile before DD returned? If so, they could say he was out of town, visiting Carl at some hospice in his final days.
  19. But you know who will be there? Uncle Jesse's new fiancee, played by his real-life spouse Caitlin McHugh, whose character will help him grieve the loss of his beloved wife, Becky, at the hands of a drunken streetcar operator.
  20. It's like a "Full House"/"Desperate Housewives" crossover from Hell.
  21. "Alternative lifestyle"? Is that ridiculous euphemism back in vogue?
