  1. Wow, Marj must be a saint to be able to get along with her, lol!
  2. Thanks, @JaneAusten! I'm with whoever ain't Trump OR a Republican at this point. Even Buttigieg, with his tone-deaf ass, will have my vote come November 2020, should he make it that far (which he probably won't, but you know what I'm saying). If it's Harris, fine. Warren, fine. Biden, fine. Bernie...sigh...yeah, fine. I just don't want another four years of Trump. My blood pressure can't take it, and neither can my digestive track. And speaking of things that affect my digestion: yes, I agree, Chuck Todd is a dreadful human being, who has no business being on any news-oriented show, let alone one as prestigious as "Meet the Press." What the actual [!@#$%^&*]!? Yep. Whoever isn't Trump or Republican gets my vote. No question.
  3. Thanks, DD! So far, I have enjoyed it! Got to enjoy a DELICIOUS Chinese dinner with Mama Khan at this new place near our house! I must salute that protester for shutting Buttigieg's ass down with that remark ("You ain't gonna get it either."). How DARE that twerp Buttigieg say he's not asking for "our" vote? If I were him, knowing I'm an out gay man running for president during these less-than-friendly times, I'd be dragging Chasten to every cookout this side of South Carolina, along with our best batches of sweet tea, potato salad (without the raisins!) and strawberry cake. Because, unlike some holier-than-thou, so-called Christians who just happen to be white, I believe most African-Americans wouldn't give a damn about whether he was getting it up the you-know-what from his schoolteacher husband. True, some of us might not condone homosexuality. For the most part, though, we care more about having someone in office who WON'T send us all back to the 1850's than we do about who he chooses to love.
  4. Actions like those wouldn't scare me into voting for Trump. If anything, they would make me more determined to see the other person (whoever that will end up being) win. But, I don't consider myself a card-carrying member of his cult to begin with, so who the hell knows, lol?
  5. If we're not ashamed of ourselves for this [!@#$%^&*], then we should be.
  6. Oh, well, lol. Mayor Pete seems like he "means well," but it's just like what you said, @marceline: he's just not qualified for the gig.
  7. Kevin Sorbo's post-"Hercules" career has been one embarrassment after another, lol.
  8. Ah. Okay. Thanks, @Juliajms! :)
  9. When was she in "Hercules"?
  10. IA with everything you're saying here, @marceline. Nevertheless, I still believe that his words WILL cost him in the long run. If only because the GOP, in tandem with the media, will continue to blow this more and more out of proportion, to the point where many on the left (who are clearly too dumb to see the agendas) will start to believe he's too toxic to be the nominee. Exactly. Trump wants a war, because he knows wars win elections. And, as always, the American public is just too dumb to realize it. Don't forget, though, that many on the left love to play Purity Olympics. Otherwise, Al Franken would still be in the Senate.
  11. Didn't I say that it would be only a matter of time before Crazy Uncle Joe stuck his foot in his mouth (again)? Didn't I say that, as long as he stayed on script, he might be okay? Didn't I say that!? Sigh. FFS.
  12. Well, they are...aren't they?
  13. What's happening with Chuck Todd to warrant all the (warranted) outrage? I'm out of the loop.
  14. Is that the guy who founded the sex cult? No wonder he started the cult! He's too creepy-looking to get laid the old-fashioned way!
  15. How was AMC's overall record with recasts? Because, the more I think about it, the more I think they often had a tough time recasting characters.
  16. Are you kidding? Recast Jenny Gardner Nelson? Kim Delaney was too damn popular even to THINK about recasting her role. AMC would have been committing suicide had they done so.
  17. Unfortunately, the failure of the Greg/Sheila relationship made TPTB skittish about trying again with a different love interest for Greg. They (most likely) reasoned that fans were too devoted to Jenny (and to Kim Delaney) to allow Greg to find happiness again -- when, really, they probably felt it was just too soon after her death. Ergo, IDK whether the show ever would have "gone there" again with Greg. As it was, they waited until Lau had left, and they had recast Greg with Armstrong, to try pairing Greg w/ Robin McCall (IIRC). And even that didn't go very far, thanks to Armstrong's miscasting.
  18. Yes. Exactly. LL stayed on for two more years (or so) with absolutely zilch to do; and when he did leave AMC (for AW, I think), the show foolishly recast (with a DREADFUL actor) rather than just let his character leave town (which they had to do, anyway, when Jack Armstrong turned out to be a bust).
  19. I suspect the writers wanted a Greg/Sheila romance, but the timing was bad (to say the least). Jenny had just died; and for fans of what was arguably AMC's most popular couple, it was too soon to entertain the thought of Greg finding love again with another woman. Unfortunately, scuttling the storyline resulted in Laurence Lau having little to do for the rest of his time on the show.
  20. Agree. But, you know, I'm satisfied with the stains that the scandal left upon his reputation. Stains that he's never been quite able to erase.
  21. Was that directed toward me?
  22. Bill Bell said he didn't like melodrama? What did he think he was writing? Situation comedy?
  23. Yep. At the very least, if he doesn't wreck American democracy (as we know it) beyond repair, Trump will lead us into another era of presidents who are, at best, average and easily forgettable; just like the eras between Andrew Jackson's presidency and Abraham Lincoln's, and between Lincoln's and Theodore Roosevelt's. We'll experience a succession of leaders who will be too busy cleaning up Trump's messes and keeping us from collapsing into total anarchy to make any real, progressive changes. And it really won't matter whether the Republican Party survives, because, thanks to Trump, they've managed to shape our direction for the next generation and beyond.
  24. Years? More like generations. Our GRAND-children will be working overtime to restore our reputation with the rest of the world.
