  1. If this ends with Devon abducting that kid....
  2. Hey, don't knock that! That song was SEMINAL in Bo and Hope's story! Corday and Langan were nothing if not ambitious, lol. But I feel like a much stronger HW or Co-HW could have made all those disparate stories work.
  3. This is why I hate surrogacy storylines on soaps: the sperm/egg donor inevitably becomes so attached to the baby that they end up making life hell for the couple who would otherwise be childless. It's become a cliche, and it paints a very negligent picture of surrogacy.
  4. The only thing missing was this dude: I'd love to see a story where Nicole becomes acquainted with a troubled, underaged girl, whom she ultimately rescues from the porn industry. It'd be a good use of Nicole's history, and it would give her/AZ something to do other than obsess over a man.
  5. I'd love to see Tonya Crowe back on TV, but not as Lois.
  6. I'm not seeing it either. If Laura were still single and/or pining for Luke, I'd get it. At the very least, Luke's death would allow her to move on. And if Luke weren't really dead, then having him pop back up when Laura and her new beau were about to get married or something would provide a good, classic, soapy twist (provided, of course, Tony Geary wanted to return and play out that scenario, which we know he doesn't, lol). However, Laura moved on years ago with Kevin. So, what's the point?
  7. Agree. I also hate the fact that Bobby and Pam never had a child of their own. They could have had a daughter, who grew up and became one of uncle J.R.'s biggest nemeses.
  8. Why does this show assume the devil can possess or control only one person at a time?
  9. Given what I know of her track record, I think LB might have kept up with the outlandish ideas -- after all, like it or not, that had become DAYS' trademark -- but maybe with a renewed emphasis on character. Salemites would still do screwy things, but maybe we'd understand better WHY.
  10. And that's why I thought it was odd that Ken Corday would have hired her in the first place. Supposedly, he and Broderick had become acquainted over the years at various industry functions, but either the man had never actually watched an episode of AMC before hiring her, or he was making an honest attempt at bringing DAYS back to basics and away from the camp and silliness, and Tom Langan successfully torpedoed it. I don't remember Broderick, in her brief HW'ing stint, moving away from the JER-inspired crap, but I *do* remember her attempting to ground it all in character and logic, so that it would have made some sense. The Gina/Hope stuff, in particular, didn't seem *quite* as ridiculous with Broderick in charge of the writing.
  11. And that final shot of smiling Reva twirling into also-smiling Josh's arms? Woah my God!
  12. Didn't Lorraine Broderick quit as HW, because she disagreed with Tom Langan over how the teens were introduced?
  13. Ugh. I couldn't begin to count the number of people who should've been fired for that.
  14. You know, at this point, I'm willing to explain away all this demonic possession crap as mass hallucinations brought on by ergot poisoning. LOL!!
  15. Actually, it would be "SamanDevil." But, if you think about it: Samantha could be paired off with John, Hattie could be paired off with a returning Chris Kositchek and Marlena could be reunited with Wayne's Roman. It's a win-win-win situation.
  16. Yes! Absolutely! It's been so long since DAYS had a HW who could play the long game.
  17. Who? Oh! Him! Yeah, they should totally bring back whatshisface. Or he could perform a massive retcon and reveal that Marlena, who returned from the dead in '91, is really Samantha, and that the real Marlena is still being held captive on some island. #ATaleof2Docs
  18. A DAYS character without a love interest? Surely, you jest, lol.
  19. That could have been fun to watch. Belle, as a young girl, is infatuated with the older Shawn, but Shawn thinks of her as just a kid. Then, several years down the road, when it looks like Belle, who is now age-appropriate, is about to embark on her first, real relationship -- maybe she's even about to get married! -- Shawn, finally realizing that he has fallen for Belle, pulls a page from his father's playbook and whisks her away to reveal his feelings. I'm ALWAYS down for the slow burn.
  20. Belle Brady makes Mary Richards look like Sue Ann Nivens.
  21. TBH, I don't remember Conboy's other series, CAPITOL, having very good openings either. In fact, the first one in particular played like the introduction to a video on D.C. tourism. I guess he just got lucky with Y&R.
  22. IIRC, ABC didn't even contact Dorothy Lyman about reprising the role.
  23. That's...really not saying a whole lot.
  24. In that case... SOD BREAKING NEWS: Rebecca Budig IN As DAYS' New Sami!! (No, I'm not suggesting I want RB as NuSami. Shut up.)
