  1. If only the actual show had been that exciting! To me, the fact that more of the cast apparently were on her side rather than his speaks volumes.
  2. And people praise him all the time for being such a whiz with budgets (unless, like you say, he feared a lawsuit if he had release her early). I realize KS' mental health is a delicate subject, but just like with Maurice, Jason and several others on this show, she shouldn't be allowed to hold the show hostage like this.
  3. If that's the case, then that was a waste of money.
  4. AFHV was a real phenomenon when it premiered and (for better or worse) a sort of precursor to all those lousy videos stinking up YouTube and social media today. If nothing else, KL's S12 finale's #10 ranking set the show up to make a real comeback when all the other primetime soaps from the '80's had faded from the airwaves. Unfortunately, S13 was so rotten from the start that it basically squandered the show's momentum.
  5. OMGosh! Thank you so much for the offer, @JAS0N47 , but you do so much for this board already. I won't impose on you like that.
  6. I think MSW was still doing okay, but it was fading a bit before they ended those "bookend episodes," so I imagine that either CBS or Universal or both wouldn't have put up with the concept continuing for TOO much longer. I'd love to see a Nielsen TV Audience Estimates report (like the ones @JAS0N47 has posted above) on some of those "bookend episodes." I wouldn't be surprised if the numbers were good for the first 15 minutes, then plummeted once viewers realized it wasn't a "Jessica episode," lol. Thanks again, @JAS0N47 . Especially for your explanation on the difference(s) between those ratings and the ones that USA Today posted. According to those reports, "The Cosby Show" still led the 8:00-8:30 slot, but it's clear "The Simpsons" had taken a chunk of their audience.
  7. That's not saying much, though. The quality of those three are extremely low bars to clear.
  8. I know I'm gonna kick myself for throwing this out there, but I had suggested that Ryan Gosling appear to an ill Marlena as an adult version of D.J. Craig - Don and Marlena's child, who died from SIDS - with messages from his dad and John, while Marlena is battling a relapse of her Lyme Disease.
  9. That's...bizarre to me. True, Knots S12 was stable in the ratings, but the Lechowicks made some serious blunders that year (Val's "brain virus," a heavy-handed storyline about child abuse, Lance Guest's entire storyline) and the latter half of the season was very sloppy from a storytelling standpoint. And the season finale was so out of control - what, with Brian Johnston's sudden disappearance over some sex tape he'd made with Linda Fairgate (?) and the out-of-nowhere paint gun attack perpetrated on Karen just to give Michele Lee something to do (namely, a car chase) and a dramatic (and violent) cliffhanger to close the season out with. Thanks, @JAS0N47 , for the stats!!
  10. "Skinny" was also the last episode produced by series co-creator Peter S. Fischer, and featured the final appearance of Jerry Orbach as private eye Harry McGraw, too. In the next season, David Moessinger ("Quincy," "In the Heat of the Night") would take over as EP/Showrunner, Jessica Fletcher would relocate to NYC "part time" (initially, to teach criminology at Manhattan University, although that career appears to be phased out by the end of S8) and the show itself would rebound in the ratings, rising to #8 after a couple of seasons outside the Top 10, thanks in large part to the end of the "bookend episodes," and Universal revamping the show's production schedule to allow Angela Lansbury adequate time off while still appearing in every episode.
  11. Martha Scott's picture should have the caption: "Jane Wyman's wig from the original FC pilot is back - and it's pissed!"
  12. Everybody's gotta start somewhere, lol!
  13. Good question!
  14. WTF is Uncle Phil is doing there, lol!? Thanks, @DRW50 , for sharing!
  15. For me, it's gotta be that twink who played Shayne (or "Gayne," as many called him at the time) on GL. You know, the Shayne who wanted to play baseball and whose bare ass basically got John Conboy fired? I can't remember his name atm, but he made Scott Bailey look good, and that's not easy to do!
  16. And y'all thought I was crazy for suggesting she's a thawed-out Mary Anderson, lol.
  17. In a way, I can't blame him for not wanting to return to soaps. Look at what GH is still doing to Rick Hearst, who took over CTE's GL role after he left. Even if Hearst lives in Atlanta these days, they still could do a better job utilizing him when he is available.
  18. About the only positive thing I can say about the Rachel/Justine storyline is that Carl knew almost immediately that "Rachel" was not Rachel. He wasn't a complete sap like Trevor was on AMC when he didn't know that it was Janet (not once, when she was impersonating Natalie; but again, when she had come back to town and was masquerading as "Jane Cox").
  19. So far, Trump II has gone down like Trump I, with all sorts of incompetent people getting the boot.
  20. Not even an accident in the Arctic could force me to watch this, or anything else on the Make Christmas White Again channel.
  21. I could see Brad Pitt as Dylan, maybe, but as Alan-Michael? No, lol.
  22. I can't imagine that, lol. I could see Brad Pitt as Dylan, maybe, but Alan-Michael?
