  1. It's been my observation that, perhaps as a response to the feminist movement, anti-heroines truly came into vogue during the '70's. Of course, their roots go back further, to characters like Rachel (AW), Julie (DAYS) and Lisa (ATWT), but some notable examples from this decade might include Erica (AMC), Raven (EON), Bobbie (GH), Rita (GL), Karen (OLTL), Jennifer (SFT), Jill (Y&R), etc.
  2. Anyone would be better than GR, really. Hell, I'd take Rick(y) Schroder before I'd take GR.
  3. I love ZT, but he's not right for Lucky either. He reads more "Cassadine relative" to me.
  4. Great. Just what we needed. Greg Rikaart bringing his special brand of...whatever to not one, not two, but THREE soaps simultaneously. (Becky Herbst should be used to doing the heavy lifting for herself and her on-screen partner by now, though.) Oh, FFS, lol. If it comes down to that, then just kill off Lucky for good.
  5. I get what you're saying, @John, but if they wanted, for example, to stage an elaborate fire at the hospital that kills off a bunch of characters? As long as it affects the rest of the canvas in significant ways and isn't just something that's forgotten ten minutes after it happens, I'll be okay with the sudden and swift mass exodus.
  6. "Unreliable," eh? Either she was too hopped up on "Peruvian marching powder," or she was playing hooky because she didn't know acting would be so hard when she took the job. Thanks, @will81!
  7. I agree. Of course, I have a list of characters who I would love to see gone - and yes, that list is a very long list, too, lol. But I'll be satisfied if Mulcahey and Korte can give each character better definition.
  8. That's probably because it didn't. Fine, Charity Rahmer and Jake Silbermann it is! CM, as in Chandler Massey?
  9. Fortunately, we don't have to worry about Roger Howarth coming back again, lol.
  10. I'm fairly certain Mulcahey wrote that scene with Luke confessing the rape to Lucky. Mulcahey's always been good with monologues.
  11. I would, if I could get past the technical issues. And IA that Mulcahey is too good for daytime. It's a shame no primetime or streaming series has ever snapped him up.
  12. If anyone really wants to know how TPTB at GH felt about Claudia, look no further than how they dispatched with her: blow to the head with an axe handle, followed by a burial in the woods. The intensity of this scene makes the whole, shitty story that led up to it almost - almost - worthwhile:
  13. He was. Like @Mitch64 said, GL, and specifically JFP, made a big to-do over Douglas Anderson becoming the show's latest HW, even though most had not heard of him before in any capacity. Anderson wasn't around for very long, however, which tells me that either he realized what a mistake he had made in coming aboard and bailed quickly, or P&G realized right away that he wasn't suited to writing for soaps and cut him loose first chance they got. Who knows? Maybe the decision was mutual, lol. Much of Megan McTavish's writing for GL was bad, but what she wrote for the Grant family, with Gilly unwittingly falling for her biological father, was particularly horrid.
  14. We have a serious problem in this country when it comes to age. Biden and Trump should be disqualified to run or run again, because they're "too old"? Say what!?
  15. Well, just as long as she isn't playing THIS Diana...
  16. TBH, I'm not looking forward to a Biden/Trump rematch. If Biden loses, then that means we get another four years of Trump (and maybe more, if he gets his way) and I don't think the country would survive that. On the other hand, if Trump loses, then that means we get to play another round of "the election was rigged!," and I don't think the country would survive that either. Either way, the 2024 election, IMO, will be the moment when our nation is torn to ribbons.
  17. Correct me if I'm wrong, but wasn't there some sort of controversy surrounding America Ferrara when she still was on "Ugly Betty"? Not anything to do with her personal life, per se, but just that she was polarizing for some reason.
  18. "We lost the jobs that we love, because we chose to love each other." Never mind the fact that you two were married to other people at the time, right? Yeesh.
  19. Was it that soon, lol? IIRC, "The Chew" ran for several years, but with perennially low ratings and a cloud of controversy over it, thanks to those "sexual misconduct" allegations against Mario Batali. "The Revolution," on the other hand, was over and done with in less than a year, which surprised me, because, even though their ratings weren't nearly as good as OLTL's, you would've thought the network would have held onto it a little bit longer and maybe attempted a revamp of sorts for it.
  20. Yep, lol. Was that when Beth Ehlers' Taylor McBride Thompson vanished without any explanation?
  21. In retrospect, the cross-country move might have bought AMC a little more time, but I feel like cancellation was inevitable no matter what Julie Hanan Carruthers and her writers did or tried to do.
