  1. Robert Tyler…hadn't seen a clip of him in a long time. I didnt know that Tom and Margo still lived in the old house…..I kind of liked it better than the one they moved into.
  2. Brandon Barash was on last nights Melrose Place movie playing the Thomas Calabro character of Michael.
  3. Id like to call Marland's version a tramp….LOL...
  4. Sarah and Paul were cute together but yet so boring. I liked Mark and I enjoyed Mark Collier's version of Mike better than the previous actor. Yes, it was during that time …right before Behr and Broderick turned up on ATWT. It was her motive for being a suspect in his murder. The last decent storyline Emily had was with Royce. I think the lack or poor writing came from the fact that the actress wasn't as great as Melanie Smith. Her scenes with Roger Howarth were atrocious!!!
  5. Ah yes ..Valente….just horrendous…..Black and Stern were better on Falcon Crest….. Its a shame that the writers underneath Marland didnt know what to do or write after his death…..cause that lead to one awful writer after another….Lorraine Broderick had her moments but the show was mainly boring during her time there. The only good thing Black and Stern did was hire Model Paul….
  6. Who was writing at the time? Was this during Jessica Klein's one week run?….LOL And wasn't Caso gone and whats his name promoted to EP. I can't recall his name..he was one awful EP….fired Patricia Bruder to name one….
  7. Really loving wildest dreams song…didnt really like it when I first heard it when the album was released...
  8. Even back then Frons was an awful decision maker. Capitol was an awful soap. SFT was so much better. 1981-1982 1. General Hospital 11.2 2. All My Children 9.4 3. One Life To Live 9.3 4. Guiding Light 8.0 5. The Young And The Restless 7.4 5. As The World Turns 7.4 7. Ryan's Hope 6.9 8. Search for Tomorrow (CBS) 6.8 9. Capitol 5.8 10. Days Of Our Lives 5.5 11. The Edge Of Night 5.0 12. Another World 4.7 13. Texas 3.6 14. Search for Tomorrow (NBC) 3.4 15. The Doctors 3.3 Capitol was on all of what…5 years where SFT would have lasted longer on CBS.
  9. I dont recall but why did SFT move from CBS to NBC? I use to watch it when it was on CBS and never followed it to NBC and apparently neither did most of the CBS viewers..it went from a 6.8 rating on CBS to half of that 3.4 for NBC.

Ha…yeah she sure is a Bitsy…LOL The ratings for the premiere week were up but I think she was on only one episode and also The Talk was running re-runs against it.

She acted more like his mother than an interviewer. She was scolding him…just came off so badly. I am surprised Pintauro just didnt walk off the stage.
  12. Yes, that is the one.
  13. Great song and one of my favorites! What was the name of their other hit? It was a great song as well!
  14. Soapsuds replied to YRBB's topic in Off Topic Lounge
You could tell that she wanted to vomit/felt repulsive during her interview with Pintauro. She came off so holier than though attitude.
  15. Soapsuds replied to YRBB's topic in Off Topic Lounge
She sure came off judgmental towards Pintauro. CCB is one horrible host on the show. And isn't it so obvious that Joy can't stand CCB…LOL
  16. BTW I found Maggie to be such a boring character…and seeing her again on the ATWT dvd releases further confirms it….
  17. I liked Jay. What happened to his character? I wish he would have stayed during Marland's run. Didnt Marland also write the affair with Tom and Barbara when HBS was playing Margo or was it Susan Bedsow Horgan?
  18. E.J. Bonilla(Guiding Light) has joined the cast of Unforgettable which will now be seen on A&E.
  19. Some of the characters you described were post Dobsons Lily, Lucinda, Dusty Marcy and the Kirk Jay, Fanny thing was I believe post Dobs, but they may have generated the blue print for it. The "Lisa is den mother to the town," and kidnapped came after the Dobs definatley...(they wrote the original Lisa/Diana thing to be antogonistic, which could have been good, but BVF did not have the same "bite," Fulton had and just always came off as disinterested and snobby, which Lisa never was. I like Lisa best when Fulton came back and before Marland wrote her. She was in the middle of a lot of stuff, and was motherly and loving but still had her Lisa sting going. I liked that Whit's kids all thought of her as their mother and that she would nose her way into their lives but they liked it. Marland kept up the Lisa mothering the lost children of Oakdale but it wasnt the same and it seemed more removed..almost like Lisa paled in comparison to Kim and the "family" the Hughes had. I liked that Lisa had her weird untraditional family. I HATED it when Hogan took over and by the end of the show Lisa ended up almost a pathetic lonely spinster character, which she never was. I wish Marland had kept her step family or Hogan would bring back Diana as a vixen to compete with Carly (sorry people, I think the Carjack era was so boring and repetitive and I liked original recipe Carly until she became the Reva of the show. ) Of the Dobson stuff I liked the "Stenbeck Heir," storyline (hated Gunner though) but James was kind of a dumb villain, would have been nice to have shades of grey on him, and that was really the only besides the tedious Steve/Betsy stuff. The "Who killed John," storyline was I thought really their best work on ATWT, it involved almost everyone and spoiler free time back then the audience thought John was really dead. These were the writers during that time….So Lisa's return was after the Dobson's left? 1983 Caroline Franz and John Saffron Mid-1983–1984 John Saffron 1984 – November 1984 Tom King and Millee Taggart November 1984 – April 1985 Cynthia Benjamin and Susan Bedsow Horgan April 1985 – November 1985 Susan Bedsow Horgan

That was a total waste of time. I don't know why they invited John Stamos in the first place.
  21. Sounds like their entire run on Santa Barbara. I did like the McColls on ATWT…they did do some things enjoyed…..
  22. I always thought for most of her run that Lyla was a sap with her children. She had blinders where Craig was concerned. Lyla always believed he could do no wrong. When Martha Bryne returned as Lily and it felt jarring at first for me…I knew Heather Rattray had made the role of Lily her own. I sure did miss Heather after Martha returned. I think that Lyla is strong when it comes to her kids but I just never saw her as being vibrant compared to the other women on the cast. Hell, I get more from Ellen than I do Lyla. I did however, feel something for her when they brought her back the last time under Hogan's reign. But again, she was in the orbit of her kids and was scolding Katie for marrying Simon. Yeah from most of the episodes I am watching, Lily is coming off more as a brat (and a twat) than what she usually is but I like her. She isn't as self-righteous and preachy as she'd later become. As you said, she was flawed. From what little I've seen of HR's Lily (as I haven't gotten around to watching most of her time on the show) I like her. She isn't as shrill as MB's Lily, who I adored even though she annoyed me at times. HR seems to play a tragic heroine better than MB without all the screaming and hysterics. I wish youtube had Rattray's work during the time when she wrangled with Barbara and the time that Henry was gas lighting her. That was great stuff!
  23. Lilieth was pure camp through her entire run on ATWT. Isabella…LMAO…I remember when she used that name to introduce herself to Oakdale…she was a hoot!

    Ugh..I can't stand Paula…
  25. The qualifying rounds were shown every year on the CBS Sports Channel when CBS has the rights to the US Open. I would have fun seeing some of the former ranked players trying to qualify for the Open. It was great to see and it was a shame it wasn't seen this year on CBS Sports Channel. ESPN didnt even show the doubles final in any category. You had to go to the Tennis Channel to see the finals on tape and not even live either. ESPN coverage was just awful this year.
