  1. Opal slapping Liza. Damn, this was good. It's amazing how quickly we went from THAT Liza to the pathetic creature we later saw on-screen.
  2. How do I access Megan's memoir?
  3. Eric, DAYS did a story with Marlena trapped in a pit by a crazed woman. It was the year after "Natalie in the Well," and had the woman coming to visit periodically and taunt Marlena (just like Janet did to Natalie).
  4. Janet is mentioned in this episode from 1986, in an exchange between Jeremy and Natalie. Was this the earliest mention?
  5. Yahoo Entertainment40 Years Later, Susan Lucci Looks Back on Erica Kane’s Ic...Susan Lucci recalls filming the iconic All My Children bear scene from 1985, where Erica Kane declared, You are a filthy beast and I am Erica Kane.
  6. So I got my SON name from Brandon's company. 😁 Anyway, Erica's Dick Cavett interview was funny - she trashed Pine Valley and made all the citizens appear as simple hicks. The whole town was watching that evening for their hometown girl... and they weren't too pleased (to say the least).
  7. Was the writing really THAT bad? I do admit that the1975 episode (via YouTube) was pretty boring,... but that's just one episode. Going over the ratings' charts Jason has posted, I noticed OLTL's ratings in the mid-'70s were ABYSMAL. There were particular weeks where it ranked LAST... like, literally, DEAD LAST. I'm surprised it never faced cancelation (or did it?).
  8. The Martin home was destroyed in the Tornado of '94; it was the oldest set still in use at the time. Fickett was present for the 30th Anniversary in 2000. Fans online referred to Lee Meriwether as "CatRuth"." LOL I do recall Joe having an affair (or almost) with a character named Leora Sanders, who was beaten by her husband.
  9. LOL! Yes, he was Donna's first pimp; his name was Tyrone (to be replaced by Billy Clyde).
  10. Can we talk a little bit about Mary Fickett (Ruth Parker Brent Martin)? She was the first actor to win an Emmy for a daytime soap role (1973). Her winning reel was an anti-war monologue (1972); Ruth took over as the "liberal peace activist" after Rosemary Prinz (Amy) departed. Ruth's adopted son, Phillip, had been drafted and was Missing In Action in Vietnam. Later on, I'm sure the storyline of Ruth getting raped by Ray Gardner must've been incredibly traumatic to viewers
