  1. I hated Gwen too for obvious reasons (even though I did have moments of empathizing with her during Sarah’s death. Liza Huber really shined in those scenes with her grieving Sarah.) Another character I hated (found to be really boring) was Grace but I was surprised at how much I actually kind of missed her once she was gone. Looking back, she was a pretty important character for the show and I felt like her exit was kind of symbolic at the time for when the show started going downhill. The Bennett family ended up becoming really fractured by the end of the show. Charity should have stayed too, they invested so much in her being a heroine in the show & I know she had her fans back then.
  2. I think I’m gonna watch some more classic episodes tonight but I was wondering if someone could send me the YT link? The vault is great but not ideal.
  3. Passions was THAT soap for us millennials growing up and it absolutely opened the doors for me to get into Y&R and Days. Y&R was always a bit too “mature” for me at the time. I was too young to follow the business storylines and such but I did eventually grow into it around 14 near the end of Passions. The issue with Passions I think is they kept all these triangles going way too long (literally the entire show). They should have shaken things up more. Theresa/Ethan/Gwen being the most notable but the Luis/Sheridan stuff was exhausting as well especially during the Antonio years.. (god we all hated him I think right?) I mean atleast Beth was crazy and interesting. The show always dug into the whole idea of people being soul mates and “star crossed lovers” which is fine to point but it limited the ability to like different pairings. The irony of it all is that JER spent the entire show investing in Shuis just to put him with Fancy in the end. What was even the point of any of that? He knew how to write interesting characters but his actual storytelling was awful and I never really realized that until I started discovering the other soaps and then I realized “oh this is why Passions got cancelled”
  4. Not an EB fan, but he did have some interesting insight to give into the soap world so I quite enjoyed the podcast. Can’t wait to see Deidre Hall’s episode. One word - Queen!
  5. HARD pass on pairing Holden with Phyllis. She looks like she could be his granny. I could totally see him with Amanda though.
  6. I didn’t know Damien that well (only started watching the show again recently) so i won’t pretend I’m sad he’s gone. His character didn’t interest me much. He seemed quite boring actually.. ALL that being said, his death seems completely unnecessary. We’re supposed to believe anyone other than Cane or his dorky assistant could have done this? Who else has any kind of motive? They could have told this same story without having half of Genoa City involved. Nikki, Victor, Nick, Sharon, Phyllis, Billy, Sally, Michael, Lauren and more REALLY don’t need to be involved. If they wanted a story for Cane & Lily just do that? Why is everyone else there?……
  7. Not sure what the obsession is with Lily being with a black man, but anywho. Since Damien is dead, how are we supposed to have a “whodunnit” storyline when most of these people barely even knew the guy. We know Cane has a motive obviously but other than that, what could possibly be the motive. Sharon disappearing because she “forgot something” is supposed to generate some kind of motive on her part I guess? And why just because she’s bipolar? She has no reason to kill Damien either. The whole story is a failure before even starting.
  8. Amazing! Thank you so much.
  9. I got curious today and decided to look up Blake Berris because I saw he was being nominated for an Emmy. I remember Nick and Chelsea from my time watching days when I was younger. Imagine my surprise when I checked Nick Fallon’s Wikipedia page & see Judi Evan’s, Stacy Haiduk and Christell Stausse as portraying the character. As someone who hasn’t watched the show in years I’m like HUHHHHH? Then I realized… oh it must of been another one of those bonkers DOOL storylines 🫣🤣
  10. I’m curious if anyone knows where to find Y&R episodes from last year (2024). I just recently started watching the show again and just out of curiosity I’d love to skim through episodes from last year but I can’t seem to find them anywhere
  11. This character is not Cane at all.. even his personality traits are different. I just don’t get this 😬 not even a Cane fan but I do value consistency and being true to the history of the show and this is just… bad..
  12. I’d be happy to see Sharon or Eileen win. They both had big stories last year & did a great job.
  13. It would be nice to see Sharon Case finally win this year but I won’t hold my breath.
  14. I am at the end of February. I stopped for a couple weeks but I intend on getting back to it. Yes I’m still very much enjoying it but life got busy (had to do a couple weeks of night shifts)
  15. Is this the longest someone has been EP and HW in recent history? Seems JG has been there for ever. That scares me because it makes me think we’ll never be rid of him and they’re just gonna let him drive this show into the ground.
  16. It looks like the Temu croissant lamp 🤭
  17. What was the point in any of this? I’ve been asking myself that a lot lately with JG’s writing.
  18. I just tuned in while the show was halfway through and Nick & Sharon are having dinner with Damien & Lily in France (random), also Cane is suddenly back in Genoa drinking coffee at Crimson Lights (also random). Why is everyone still at the Chateau in France when Cane isn’t even there anymore? Clearly I missed something
  19. Victor needs to be killed off. His entire presence is a real bummer and killing the entire show. Let Nikki be a rich bitchy widow and get it over with.. The fact that a head writer is telling the fans of the show that Victor will never lose is basically a big f*ck you to all the fans of the show. In other words, there’s no point of tuning in because everything will be just as predictable as always..
  20. He’s going to Days so I guess that’s a valid guess. I just don’t see why there could be motive to murder anyone unless it’s Victor, but it being an accident could explain that away for sure. im ready for something interesting to happen cause im SO close to giving up on this show again since the “Dumas is Cane” reveal. Give me something pleeeeease The Phyllis and Sharon scenes today were good so I’ll say that. Turning them into the new Katherine and Jill I think would be a smart idea for the show. This new dynamic of them caring about eachother is an interesting angle. I didn’t understand why that wasn’t followed up on after the kidnapping BS in March.
  21. Victor, Nikki, Nick and Sharon sitting around talking about Cane and Lilys relationship is dumb as f*ck Also Lily playing hard to get with Cane is hilarious. Girl he’s rich now what are you waiting for? This scenario would never happen in real life
  22. Oh I completely forgot about the Santos family. So yes, I guess they did have one Latino family. I guess I just didn’t think of that because Danny doesn’t look remotely Latino to me at all but maybe he is? I feel like they did a lot of whitewashing back then.
  23. I’m not generally one of those people who thinks a POC should be on a tv show just for the sake of having a POC but the lack of diversity in the 90s cast is pretty glaring. It almost makes it kind of boring to not have atleast any Latino or black characters at all which we know there was plenty of in the U.S in 1999. Passions was one of the worst soaps ever (if not the worst) in terms of writing but one thing they did get right is their characters. They had a Latino and Black family that were front burner along with the Cranes and Bennetts. Having a diverse cast definitely keeps you interested. Having so many characters who are blond and white makes it difficult for me to separate them on screen sometimes.
  24. I’ve been chomping at the bit for more soap podcasts. I love listening to actors talking about bts experiences and their experiences/relationships with fellow actors. I will definitely be listening.
