You have to remember this was 30 years ago - no flipping way. Even Dynasty copped out with Steven once the show became a hit - suddenly he's bi and basically straight, which was fine. (Part of it was the Al Corley somehow gave off sheer sexuality - all the way around; Coleman - not so much in any respect.) It was kind of amazing how KL unwittingly killed off Ciji before they realized the ratings were moving up, up, up (and the demos were getting much better). KL, I believe, finished that season maybe in March or April? Anyway, the production cycle was way ahead and it wasn't until they realized they risked losing the entire young audience they gained. Lisa Hartman truly saved KL at a point when most of it's audience was very old. I always loved that last shot of Ciji picture and then the cut to the dark ocean and her body on the beach. The irony is that when you look at the clip - it doesn't necessarily mean that she's dead! She could have been unconscious, etc. However, I did like all the twists with Cathy Geary (initials C.G. - KL writers' humor).

Only old folks (like me) remember their deaths. Heck, Melrose Place brought Sydney back to life only to stupidly kill her off. Regardless, it will be interesting to see if this gets picked up.

I still can't believe it's been three years on Tuesday. Try to forget that day. I wish they could've reworked it as a 30-minute show. Oh, well. I was watching the scenes where Emily tells Hunter she the bio-mom and it reminded me how far KMH really came as an actor. Of course, the story was too brief, but a nice memory from 2009 (and there weren't many of them).

Three castings I just never warmed up to on ATWT - MR (don't get me started), FR (with that stupid brown leather thing on his wrist) and JD (he did NOT look like the son of Lisa and Bob in any way - from looks, to how he held himself, etc) I just never got how these three were part of the early 80s success of the show. Frankly, I was glad when all three were gone. When you had actors like CB and Kim Ulrich (Diana) propping up MR & FR, it was awful to watch.

ITA - I love the scandal that involved "pristine" Carolyn and the photos. It was actually quite shocking at the time. Come to think of it, I don't recall another soap touching this sort of taboo subject.

And in 1998, I can assure you people were saying the same thing about episodes from 1983! (Using the 15 year lookback.) The great thing is that we now have access to 30+ years of our shows (even if it's just scenes, storylines or full episodes), so we can cherry pick and watch from different eras or storylines and compare. It just kills me that so many shows were lost pre-1978 to wiping.

Definitely 1981 because this featured the second "version" of the intro and the first to feature SG. (I assume she was omitted from the first because she was being punished for leaving several months earlier.) It's hilarious to see Chris Goutman as Sharkey. I wish more clips were available from the time AOL ended (Nov. 1980) until USA picked it up (June 1981).

Because MW showed up a couple of months later and that was that! The Jack/Carly chemistry was so strong from the on-set, I don't even think they considered throwing Molly into the mix as a distraction. Plus, they were trying to "save" Molly by giving her a "cuz," which really helped. I actually liked Jack/Molly, but I think it worked out much better in the end. LOL

ITA - some of that was so bad. What was it with Cal ("Red Boots") and Mark ("Treehouse") So darned cheesy! I did like Connor with the original actor (James Wleck) who played Linc. The recast really changed the tone of the character and obviously not for the better.

Connor & Cal always creeped me out. IDK - it was probably the whole age difference. It seemed like they were "domesticating" this vibrant, intelligent business woman as an old man's trophy wife. (Granted Cal always treated Connor with respect, but still.) So when Connor and Mark connected, it was great. I liked an episode where Connor and Cal where fighting about going to a Snyder party and she said something like she was tired of hearing the same family stories again because it made her feel old. That summed it up.

The Jenna/Buzz story was incredibly unbelievable. I just failed to see the attraction there at all. It seemed like the perfect example of where JD is an "actor" so he could pull off being a leading man with anyone. Sorry, but FH/Jenna seemed like she should have been in the Spaulding mix. (Like all the jewelry heists at the beginning and even the Roger stuff made more sense than Buzz.) Plus, I always thought Nadine/Buzz made a much better couple.

Right there with you. This was one of the things that I loved about ATWT - they cast so many trained actors. They weren't always the best looking or your typical hair model (although they were hardly dogs), but they sure could act. Probably more than any other soap, they few hair models/pretty boys stuck out in a much more magnified way. Of course, that started to change by 2000.

Regarding the Kirk Michaels S/L, I read somewhere that ABC intervened and it was rewritten. Does anyone background on whether this was true? If so, what was changed and why? It was such a long story and dominated six months of the show (frankly - it was too long), but it did have some good moments, but some really bad ones.

Seeing JH today on B&B, made me feel like ATWT was on a few minutes early.... Sigh.

I became hooked on EON during the Jefferson Brown S/L and thought it was a great show. Looking back now at older episodes prior to LM's arrival, I realize that the show suffered with the loss of three key male characters: Eliot, Logan and Draper.Losing those actors in such a relatively short period of time, really hurt the show. Still think Eliot was best pairing for Raven - love their back and forth - whether a co-conspirators, lovers or "fre-enemies". They always lit up the screen.

You are absolutely correct about the porn distributor! I loved that sequence. What was great was that Lily knew it was a fake and she used her "history" with WOAK. Something like "I own a TV station, so I know editing." I was so glad that they didn't make Lily totally stupid. It was a good choice to put an end to that farce.

That's for sure! Funny how April Digest is printing December photos! What a different world! BTW -- What I wouldn't give to see episodes from 1977-1979 - Sharon Gabet's first two years on Edge. It's too bad the ones that are out there start a few weeks before she left (and, of course, came back), but I'd love to see how she evolved during that period.

Total bait and switch. After seeing the pilot, I was hooked on what would lead to Daniel's death. "Choas" was the title of the episode - more like hot mess. So the Japanese guy, somehow managed to track down Tyler's car - presumably close to the barn - popped the truck in secret, grabbed the box, had it gift wrapped, so that E-manda could bury it on the beach AND then somehow ends up right by Jack's car to pick up A-mily when she left the beach - even though know one would've know she'd be there. My fear that this would spiral down like DH after the first season is coming true. Not giving up yet, but not as excited as I once was.
