  1. Here's what's I've gathered so far (11/21) - Updated:

    B&B - full pre-emption, BUT West Coast received 11/19 (2) today. Latest episode IS 11/19 (2).

    DAYS - partial pre-emption (it's on here in Denver) - 11/21 On-line

GH - guessing partial pre-emption based on @Soapsuds

    Y&R - partial pre-emption - 11/21 On-line

B&B looks to be in the worst position here with so many full pre-emptions and the episode that wrongly aired in some parts of country on Tuesday and on Thursday (West Coast).

B&B UPDATE: Friday aired the correct next episode, so B&B had 4 this week. But only Monday and Friday aired normally.

So 3 episodes last week and 4 this week, but a whole lotta confusion! I'm sure it's only going to get worse during the next few weeks.

  2. I binged from last Monday through Tuesday's double-episode:

    1) Hope's pushing Thomas into vat was shown 3 times in the initial episode!

    2) Thomas popping up in the vat at end of 11/11 episode looking pretty good kinda spoiled it from beginning.

    3) Charlie working special security detail, but more than willing to watch Douglas Hope runs off

    4) Aren't there security cameras all over Forrester?

    5) I kinda wish they had flipped Hope's narrative to "You know what, Mom? I was defending myself from the man who tried to attack me again and left his son alone in a storage closet. I did NOTHING wrong!"

    6) Brooke's "As a chemist..." cracked me up.

    7) Hope

    Spoiler

    hugging here wannabe rapist

at the end of the 11/19 episode #2

    Spoiler

is creepy no matter how relieved she was that he was alive.

I'm guessing after airing only 3 episodes last week and facing the same situation this week, they probably posted it on-line because of the mess that will happen with Thanksgiving/Christmas. I put spoiler tags in case the episode airs tomorrow.

  3. For 11/20:

    B&B Full pre-emption - but episode posted on-line yesterday as 11/19 (2).

DAYS: Partial pre-emption (it's airing here in Denver) - will be posted on-line

    GH: Full pre-emption

Y&R: Unclear if full pre-emption - nothing posted on Y&R twitter either way. Will update if it appears on-line tonight.

  4. Quick Question for B&B fans: I went to CBS.com and B&B shows that 2 episodes aired on 11/19 (Tuesday). They are coded as 11/19 (1) and 11/19 (2) with different episode numbers (E45 & E46). DId CBS air an hour of B&B in some markets? I've never seen this before. Y&R only lists one episode for 11/19.

  5. As I said, seeing MiM was enough to get me to start checking it out again. Frankly, I still like the idea that she's playing someone new - a complete blank canvas with no baggage or retcons needed. We know MiM has great rapport with CG, PB, Bryton and plenty of others - so forming new relationships and stories only benefits MiM acting choices and storyline options.

I'm sure CG, despite all attempts to Cassify her, was happy to not to be stuck as St. Cassie. Mariah allowed her to play stories that the audience would've most likely rejected if she was Cassie.

This ordeal may end up being NBC/Corday's unofficial way of navigating how successful DAYS would be solely online...

I don't believe it was a coincidence that the 'cast firing' announcement was released the day before the first hearing - everyone knew there would be widespread pre-emptions - driving some viewers to stream.

I honestly think they are trying to follow the CW model for DAYS - where the linear ratings are significantly supplemented by the online component. Like CW, NBC sells ads, so money is being made there.

  7. Thanks for all the reports! It's appears that there's no national pre-emptions for Tuesday. At least that's something.

Interestingly, the best thing than can happen is for viewers to stream episodes - especially for DAYS. Unlike random Nielsen homes, all 3 networks can track exactly how many people are watching and get revenue since all soaps are in ad-tier.

  8. @Khan @will81 I suppose I shouldn't be surprised with the bare bones budget operation + the 8 episodes per week, that it leaves little time for rehearsals, retakes, etc. But when there's a performance as bad as WK's, at a minimum, edit it down and have extra shots of Kayla hugging/consoling Justin. The audience gets it - Kayla told him Adrienne passed and Justin is devastated.

I kinda surprised the TJ didn't have Justin living with Bonnie - now that would've been a bizarro twist!

Something tells me that if there WERE flashbacks to Adrienne's death, they would amount to shots of a Hot Wheels knocking over a Lego on the ground.

And that's if DAYS can afford the Hot Wheels and the Lego!

OMG - I'm laughing harder than I am - as I'm currently watching poor WK give the most horrific performance of his career (Kayla telling him that Adrienne died).  I had to watch it again just to make sure.

I wish Sonny was hitting Scruff and having one-nighters AND then he meets Evan. There's no reason why gay men can't be treated the same way as straight couples.

At least it's interesting and not as predictable as crazy Kristen kidnaps Sarah's precious spawn. I'm all for this one.

Exactly. Having Kristen suffer the loss is a much better approach and, hopefully, they can make her somewhat likable. SH's Kristen has been way too harsh and while she's no ED, SH is capable is doing more than sneering. We all knew a switch was happening as soon as Kristen/Sarah both preggers at same time.

  11. The ‘Marlena has no WiFi/spotty cell service,’ at this Prestigious International Institute made me laugh. And even if that were somehow plausible, John’s ISA contacts couldn’t hook Marlena up with a satellite phone/internet service?

I can suspend belief for certain things, but Hope as Gina hidden in plain sight is LESS plausible than Kristen as Nicole. Funny that John/Hope worked to unmasked her.

All that said, I really do like mixing up the cast - seeing John/Hope, Kristen/Lana, Ben/Will; JJ/Eric, Kayla/Justin has given the show a lift if only for breaking these characters out of their normal screen partners.

  12. Somehow I think the overwhelming majority of FS (FatShamers) are the same people who DEMAND unconditional acceptance from others. I always find it sickly ironic that members of so-called oppressed groups are pretty quick to shame folks on any number of topics, but completely melt down when it’s turned back on them.

I say if you’re gonna shame on a topic, you need to post pix or data on where you fall on that spectrum. Now that would be interesting!

  13. Ok. Is the pre-emption list correct?

    B&B - 2 full preemptions (11/13 & 15)

    DAYS - no full preemptions

    GH - 1 full preemption (11/13)

    Y&R - 1 full preemption (11/13)

I can only imagine what the ratings will look like on Wed for DAYS & and Friday for all soaps with the massive partial preemptions. Looks like B&B will celebrate Xmas in 2020. Haha

  14. At least some of the cast members are doing what I suggested - get out there and push the narrative. It's their show/livelihood, so they have everything to lose by being complacent and nothing to lose by being out there promoting the show. The beauty of social media is that actors don't need to be booked on a talk show - they have their own platforms.

Even a relatively small percentage increase in streaming (it ain't happening in live viewing) regardless of the source (TJ, cast firing, actor visibility), only helps further the case DAYS is still an asset to SONY/NBC. But if there's no increase after all this buzz, it solidifies the argument that a viable audience just isn't there.

  15. @Khan Love it - I would've been intrigued by that S/L.

It's interesting that DAYS killed 3 FEMALES and no males. Granted none of the 3 characters will be missed - Adrienne was on for like 8 episodes the past year; Jordan made Kristen seem positively multidimensional and Haley made everyone look better.

And I hope Fierce Nic with her new hair means StepNicole is gone. That was so painful to watch, especially after seeing AZ having so much fun doing Kristen as Nicole - that only saving grace of that travesty,

Actually the ratings for The Talk have been tanking for some time. I'm surprised it hasn't gotten canceled. It must be cheaper than a soap though. I'm not sure how well LMAD is doing.

I didn't realize TT had been slumping. I recalled it had past TV a couple of years ago, but I'm not surprised with Chen/Gilbert gone. I'm sure the 2 replacements were a lot cheaper than those two.

It's too bad that daytime ratings are stuck in the L+SD metric and we don't get L+3/L+7 and now L+35, which also include streaming platforms. People here complain about daytime ratings, but Primetime ratings have tanked far harder and so the networks are resorting to touting delayed viewing. ABC just joined FOX in not reporting L+SD for primetime this week.  https://www.hollywoodreporter.com/live-feed/tv-ratings-35-day-numbers-show-huge-gains-as-abc-stops-reporting-same-day-results-1253987

Yeah. Look at abc. All the shows designed to replace amc and oltl have been cancelled.

Exactly. Only CBS was successful in replacing GL/ATWT - TT and LMAD do quite well and I'm sure they are quite profitable.

ABC thought Katie Couric was going to be so much better than GH - good thing they didn't act first. I wish ABC had just trimmed AMC/OLTL as 30 minute soaps. I think that block could've worked well for them and if one faltered badly, expand the other.
