  1. Something that's distinguished Sheila from other soap villains who've committed major atrocities and, yet, somehow are well integrated within their shows: family, romances, careers, etc.: Extreme Wealth.

Some examples Y&R: Adam, Victor. DAYS: Stefano, Kristin GH: Sonny, Ava.

Her only brush with wealth was during her marriage to Eric and the 2 months with $B. Have there been times were vague comments about 'resources' - sure. But Sheila's never owned a nice home, has always had to work, etc.

Except for the weird $B/Bunhead plot, Sheila's never had the 'buy my way out' ticket. Sheila has always had to outsmart, outmaneuver or manipulate her way out of jams. I think that's a big reason why Sheila has such a huge fan base.

  2. Another way to look at it: If the only thing you watch on Peacock are the 22 monthly episodes: that's 0.36 an episode for the month subscription. Watch other stuff and obviously the cost goes down further.

Are subscription increases annoying? Yes! I only cancelled Netflix after all the CW shows I watched were done. I realized that was 95% of my viewing and what I enjoyed the most. If I was still into DAYS, I'd keep it.

  3. As we've always said: 'in case of emergency...'

While KB may have been in the dark, this was Brad's ultimate plan for two reasons:

    1. Why kill off Sheila with absolutely no build up? The same events could've happened, except you parade numerous suspects during the night with the reveal being Steffy holding a bloody knife over Sheila's body.

    2. How on earth could there be no Steffy gets arrested, goes on trial, etc.? That makes no sense at all. Why wouldn't you milk that drama for weeks? This was the same show that had us crying 'Muh-dah!' for months.

3, Steffy gets convicted and is about to go to jail when Deacon and Finn find Sheila is alive... SINN reunion. Steffy realizes holding on to her hatred of Sheila is destructive and decides to keep an open mind about Sheila and Finn.

Dina's 2017 return breathed new life into the Abbott family and Marla Adams was the real MVP. Dina should have been Y&R's new grande dame.

Exactly. I couldn't figure out why they wouldn't position Dina as the Kay replacement for GC. Dina had ties to everybody in town - Chancellors/Hamiltons via her best friend Katherine; Newmans through Ashley/Abby, etc. She could've been put in a scene with almost character on canvas and have a connection.

MA initial run was amazing. Even though it was implausible to believe that a woman who looked like Dina would be even vaguely unrecognizable to her children after 12 years, MA and the rest sold it so well.

Like others, I wish they'd brought her back more frequently. A class act all the way.

  5. KKL absolutely deserves a win at some point in her career. Brooke is only a viable character because of KKL.

Good grief, even SF commented on the lack of Emmy love for KKL. I'm sure some of SF's Emmy wins included many scenes with KKL.

I wonder what scenes KKL submitted for this year. Maybe something with AN?

They better prep this up for a Lauren-Sheila war. I know it's been done to death, but it's still fun and these two actresses have immense chemistry.

Yes, please! I disagree with done to death? When was the last time the KB + TB actually shared scenes? Maybe I missed it, but I don't think they've done anything together after Sheila turned up alive in 2017.

  7. @DramatistDreamer The difference between March Madness/US Open is that those are full pre-emptions. UEFA are partial pre-emptions. The reality is that the traditional soap viewer still watches on linear, especially for CBS.

If TG is pre-empted for UEFA in parts of the country, it's going to make it that much harder for viewers to stick with it/keep track of what's going on. Soaps are a habit.

I do think the partial pre-emptions are also part of the promo challenge. It's like 'Hey, ET/CT you get to watch the soaps + soccer, but MT/PT you may get some soaps, but you'll probably get soccer.' It would be better just to do full pre-emptions on those days.

I would love to see the numbers UEFA draws. Better than TT? Better than LMAD? Somehow I doubt either.

  8. @dragonflies True, but KB/Sheila are far bigger. Like I mentioned in an earlier post - the 10-toes reveal had 500+ comments on TVLine - it's been a long time since any story had that engagement. The Talk cancellation is around 65.

Honestly, the character needs a break until Brad figures things out. He's absolutely bungled everything with Sheila except for the Deacon connection.

  9. I just saw the 'Sugar' confirmation.

I suppose the *rationale* is that Sugar was trying to frame Sheila. I won't even speculate 'why'

Gosh, if I were writing this show in say 2004, I'd have Luna confront Zende with him taking advantage of her. If she chooses not to take legal action, make it a conscious choice. There's many valid reasons why someone chooses not to report. She should never apologize to RJ.

It would've been better if they both Zende and Luna consuming the mints together, which would remove the consent issue. The story is exactly the same, but Zende is forever tainted until he undergoes 3 weeks of therapy and is fine.

  10. Let me guess: HopN join the search for Sheila. Hope because of Deacon and Finn because of Sheila. Steffy is not amused. Liam is doing Liam and lurking.

This could potentially be the *best* storyline since 'why did I drink' or just another new low. It's a tough call. In theory, something along those lines should work...

In the long run, this will help SINN because Steffy and Finn will have to fight to regain what they lost. JMW is the star and future of B&B, Steffy meddling in Thomas' affairs is uninspiring.

@YRfan23 I hope Sheila was kidnapped by Sugar's crew and not another fake death. The audience has had enough of psychotic Sheila. The romance with Deacon was the first step in *reforming* the character. Why undo that for the same garbage? Making Sheila a *victim* is the next logical step to returning Sheila to a master manipulator rather than this psycho caricature.

  11. @Jeff You're absolutely right about KB's status with the show. It was widely known that KB signed a contract that kept her on until early 2024. It's absolutely plausible that B&B let her contract expire with no guarantee that she would be back. In fact, they may have told her Sheila is done. Even if they said that, do I believe there was a 'Sheila's dead. wink-wink'? Definitely.

Sheila being alive certainly generated almost 500 comments on TVLine - that is so far beyond the normal commentary, it's crazy! Honestly, I never believed a soap character could generate that kind of commentary there - especially from B&B. The Halloween tribute episode was one of B&B's highest rated of 2022. Like it or not, Sheila is important to B&B.

Honestly, homicidal Sheila never made sense. Sh*tstirrer Sheila is what people loved to watch. Bring that character back, please.

  12. B&B without Sheila or Quinn is the 'Bored & Botoxed'

Brad created this mess 2.5 years ago with the illogical 'Why did I drink?' leading to Sheila pulling a gun on Steffy to keep the spiking a secret from Finn. Seriously, of all the sins Sheila has committed, an alleged drink spike (that Thomas knew about) would cause her to shoot Steffy? C'mon.

Better: Sheila could've admitted it Steffy and pushed for an alliance. Drunk Brooke breaking up with Ridge so he'd return to Taylor, Steffy would've been tempted by that - just like Thomas.

Sheila could've pushed Steffy into by saying:

'Steffy, remember when you shot me in Eric's hotel room? I'm not sure Finn wouldn't look at you the same way. Spiked drink or shooting his mother, which do you think sounds worse?'

So many other ways these wretched months could've gone if not for the alley shooting. I doubt any of them would be worse than what we've got now.

Hey, quick question, does anyone know the exact number for how many times Sheila appeared in March? It’s tricky to count because of the some of the appearances being just “haunting” Finn or appearances in the Morgue?

It was just posted ... looks like only 3 episodes. I suppose they are saving Sheila *ghost* appearances for May sweeps! lol

  14. Hollis would be hot, but not a Brooke-level scandal. Unless it's revealed that Hollis is the biological child of Eric/Sheila through some *lab chemistry* via Poppy.

It's down to Thomas or Liam. But Thomas already had a major thing for Brooke, the special berries.

Liam creates the bigger scandal + it'd bring $B and Steffy into the storyline.

  15. 'She shot us!' I wish Finn would reply: 'You shot her first!'

Finn is so in the dark about so many things. It's super odd. He didn't know about $B + Steffy - what a let down when he got over it in a minute. That was a miss opportunity.

Finn finding out about Steffy and other Forrester secrets could be incredibly interesting material. Finn has this image that the Forresters are such paragons of virtue and class. It doesn't mean Finn would reject or judge them, but seeing him process it, while at the same time realizing that like Sheila, he will always be an outsider.

I always got the impression that Sheila was still *dead* on Y&R. So Sheila's death by bear didn't register, but this did? Bizarre.

Eric so slimy celebrating Sheila's death. Sheila was helping Eric when Steffy shot her. Ugh, this show is so frustrating.
