  1. The only fan favorite return that would excite most people and get eyeballs on the show is Victoria Rowell. And that’s not happening so who cares? Y&R is so bloated with an overpaid elderly cast that there are hardly people to bring back anyway.
  2. To be fair, not many people have, it's ratings are terrible lmao. Errol's right, the show can't survive on streaming being mindless drivel that I'm sure for the majority of the audience left it's just habit and treated like background noise.
  3. Daytime is so blatantly racist. I don't know how the actors deal with it.
  4. Cam and Joss don't work as a couple so please yes blow them up. She just aggressively barks at him, there's zero affection there.
  5. Any longtime fan of the show didn't like it because we saw Jessica's childhood. We also saw Jessica as a teenager and she didn't act like that. The whole story was stupid and damaging to Jessica, Viki and Clint as characters.
  6. Eileen Davidson never sounds enthused about much. It’s just her personality.
  7. Jason Thompson looks as old as Peter Bergman.
  8. This entire plot line has centered around characters being presumed dead. It's so effing lame.
  9. 49! I'd love to know their salaries/guarantees. Do soaps even do guarantees anymore?
  10. I think the show looks worse than GL at the end right now. At least you could tell Ellen Wheeler cared. This show is so...rote.
  11. I think she's saying she filmed something else in Montreal and then on BS Hope is in fake Montreal.
  12. Get a grip. Then stop being obtuse.
  13. Your negative is my reality. I've been watching daytime for my entire life and I've seen the trajectory of black characters and black actors and it has not been good and does not look promising. I'm not gonna let this small victory, a literal gold shiny thing, distract me from how black talent is treated on daytime. Just 3 years ago they refused to pay Mishael her worth and we lost the more interesting of the two characters she's played. What about the history here would make me think they'd do any better now?
  14. Happy for Mishael as an idea but it took the death of a genre for them to honor a black woman in the lead category. Do you think they'll give her better writing? No. Give her character more depth? No. Pay her what she deserves? Absolutely not. So what does that make this? The daytime bubble patting itself for being progressive in a way that absolutely will not matter because nothing will change. Y&R knows damn well the stronghold it has on AA viewers and does. Not. Care.
  15. With Days filming years ahead I'm surprised this didn't leak.
  16. This show is so bizarre. It respects it's history while not recognizing anything that made it great.
  17. It’s not even worth getting mad about. I hate the idea that “this was our only option”. If you’re creatively bereft maybe. But Abigail and Chad have had such an up and down relationship is it really out of the realm of possibility that she’d leave him? Come up with a reason for her to exit. You can wring just as much drama out of a relationship ending as you can a murder, it depends on how well the story is told. Death is the highest stake in any drama and a well Days goes to on a weekly basis. How can anyone invest in this nonsense? How can they enjoy writing it?
  18. Stupid and lame. He literally talks in the article about how death on a soap opera, especially Days, is not permanent. I'm sure in 6 months to a year Marci Miller will want to, I don't know, build an in-ground pool and suddenly Abby will be back in Salem. This show is a literal joke.
  19. I have to believe they have something else up their sleeve because they can't possibly think having a legacy character and lead heroine beheaded is good for the show...or the genre...or television.
  20. Honest to god what is the budget on this show? A whole barn set and a real live horse for secondary characters to discuss their son’s autism (and I guess Valentin)? I’m NOT complaining but I am shocked.
  21. Maurice Benard’s firing. I mean I pray for it but I’d still be shocked if it happened.
  22. I don't understand how anyone thought a movie length episode of television a day was at all sustainable.
  23. By that I mean his looks bore me. I don't understand the confusion.
  24. Brooke English was frontburner for almost 30 years. The show was extremely invested in keeping her involved in story until Julia Barr got too old and expensive. It was a real shame because Brooke one of those characters that was quietly the foundation of the show, she wasn't larger than life like Brooke or Adam or part of a supercouple like Tad and Dixie (that said Adam and Brooke are my personal favorite couple) but one of those cornerstone characters that soaps need yet take for granted.
